  1. No don't do that. It's not a new car anymore by any standard, and the V36 is out in numbers in Japan so in the General Skyline section it stays. I realise I quoted an old post, but from now on, V35 threads posted in 'The Next Skyline' will be moved to General Skyline section.
  2. Thats right (kinda!), the engines themselves were fine, but being cramped in a small engine bay led to overheating and subsequent withdrawal from rallying. Their handling was not so good either as the drivers couldn't get a decent suspension setup the compete with the leading cars, weight bias to the front of the car causing understeer... along those lines. The quick withdrawal from rallying pretty much made the car a failure in the publics eye, which is why it was never very well supported in the aftermarket in Japan.
  3. Seriously impressive Attention to detail, parts used... everything. Well done. Just paint that carbon!
  4. Mwahhaha... brilliant. We had a fairly useless rumour (RB = Race Bred), it got attacked by something to the contrary (RB = Response Balance), the whole thing ends up getting argued about so much it's almost rediculous - for such a trivial thing - and after 5 pages most sensible people agree that 'RB' means nothing... Perfect, just how it was planned Thanks for playing guys!

Just some pics I found in my photo file... This is Honda's 'TORABAI' (Trunk Bike). It was designed basically as 'the worlds first simeltaneously designed car (1982 Honda City) and bike (Torabai) combination. The whole idea was that the 'trunk' of the Honda City was the 'Garage' for the bike... ie: it doesn't take up any space. The Torabai could be brought as a stand alone bike, or as a 'CAR-SET IN' (Torabai + Honda City) or in other words, a Happy Meal with bonus toy. The Honda City was pretty small as it was (the whole rear of the City was designed to accomodate the bike), having a bonus mini bike in the back for those romantic excapades down a deserted beach just made the whole package unbeatable. The Torabai had a 50cc 2-stroke engine which put out 2.5hp, just 64.5hp short of it's rolling garage home, with a 70.0km/1L fuel consumption. lol... who was the photographer? It takes balls to get men to pose like that... Some people were gutted when they found out their spare tyre was replaced with a Torabai. yes that girls Torabai is doubling as a coffee table... Comes in 3 fashion colors.
  7. You wanna be a driving instructor in Japan? I think they have strict character tests for that ie: make sure you won't kill your student after they stall the car for the 517th time...
  8. Officially? No. If however you are comfortable with flaunting the law, there are various things you can do for cash no questions asked eg: handing out flyers.
  9. ^^^ Not sure what you can do easily other than get married, then come over...
  10. See thats why L was supposed to invite me along... Nice pics, shall we put this thread up in the diaries section?

  13. Aaah possibly... need money up front and needs to be worth my while though... hope you understand.
  14. Wtf...? Nice rant towards the end there champ First of all, 'V36' is a chassis number... not displacement. We're up to 'V36' now, last Skyline being the 'V35'... remember that one? Nowhere in that article does it discuss displacement. I'm not defensive or uptight. You're reading into things too much if you think that. And heres what I think The next GT-R will be an enthusiasts car, it will not be marketed towards mums and dads or 'Eddie Maguire' (lol), and I wouldn't be suprised if Nissan field one in motorsport eventually (not sure which class), and it will see track time in some form or another.
  15. ^^^ work for Jetstart do you?
  16. No I didn't... where does it say that? Mate there a different capacity quoted in each different magazine out there... seriously 3.6L, 3.7L, 3.8L... and now this british site with 4.0L. The current VQ37HR in the V36 Skyline coupe is a reality though, so that sounds about right to me. But as far as a 'mums and dads' car is concerned... not sure how you can say that when the thing isn't even released yet?
  17. Heres a pic of all 22 owners - except Amemiya Isami of RE Amemiya, he's a Mazda tuner of course - of Japanese tuning garages and parts companies say that they have already ordered (or are going to order) a 2008 GT-R for tuning/demo car purposes: (taken from Option mag) I'd say the next GT-R will be very well supported - eventually - for aftermarket tuning, so as far as custom stuff having to be made? Maybe not.

  19. Exactly... the underlying point of all this is that it doesn't mean 'Race Bred'. I'm going with no meaning at all too, but if anyone asks, it means 'Response Balance' as thats what Japanese are saying. Hey guess what? 'VQ' in VQ35HR means 'Voltron's Quest'... anybody want to dispute that? :laughing-smiley-014:
  20. Yes, but the RB26 made 280ps @ 6800rpm too (same rpm as VQ35HR)... thats why I said 'is it high enough for you?'
  21. Your other avatar was better Sl!m...

Thanks Christian I knew you had some pics lying around somewhere... Love the 'hole in the wall' style of LMP Cars too, really interested in places like that (Euro cars in Japan).
  24. Never heard of the VQ35HR in the current Z33 series 2 and V36 sedan? 232kw @ 6,800rpm high enough for you? Granted an extra 500cc might change that a little but I'm sure Nissan can find a way to counter 'low revving nature'. I'm not agreeing that the new GT-R will be 4.0L btw, far from it.
