*Rather* than a Japanese circuit? The Nurburgring has always been the benchmark for testing... Nissan didn't just suddenly say "Hey! European market is huge! Gotta get some of that action... lets go to Nurburgring!" lol GT-R32: yep you're right there, under 8 minutes for the next GT-R as quoted on that sight tells me the writer doesn't quite know what he talking about.

Wow, those Nissan AU prices are insane... I'm pretty sure they pluck some of those prices out of the air sometimes though. While I was in Australia I bought some stuff through the local Nissan dealer which were the same part numbers I had bought from Japan about 3 months earlier (for another car which was same model ECR33) and I got the quote which was exactly double what I paid for in Japan (which was about $110 difference!). I went back there to order the parts but before I did, I showed them the boxes from Nissan JP and the associated reciepts. They started to say all this BS about freight charges etc which totally went over my head and I asked for the 'real price' which they promptly knocked $70 off. I'm not sure if the bumped up the original quote because they were bored, or if it was a decision made by Nissan AU excecs to make more money... it was totally unfair and was the last time I ever bought stuff through Nissan AU. In other words: Get stuff from Nissan Japan

Because Japanese don't understand the meaning of 'Race bred' in it's English context as used in way it has on the www.racebred.com website, and they'd never use such a phrase for what is supposed to be a simple alphanumeric designation for an engine. The do however understand 'Response' and 'Balance', these two words are used in everyday Japanese language, they've been used heavily since the US occupation after WW2. Anyone thats lived in Japan or who speaks fluent Japanese would know this. Anyone who has just a passing fancy in Nissans or Japan/Japanese cars wouldn't. (ie: the person on Yahoo Answers) More eg: ECCS = Electronic-Concentrated-Engine-Control-System ATTESA E-TS = Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic - Torque Split HICAS = High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension I can't understand the urge some of you have to resist the meaning the Japanese are using, and sticking to what some random Aussie or whatever said. Where you at all disappointed when you Mum told you Santa wasn't actually real? Seems almost like the same situation... gazza750: to answer your question, I'll send an email to Nissan but don't hold your breath on a forthcoming answer.

Alright go ask the same question (in Japanese) over at http://www.gtroc.com/ and see what answer you get... I know I'm going to believe what a Japanese says about their own engines over what some cornbread fanboy on Yahoo Answers says Whats with rebelling against correct knowledge and haging on to wrong information anyway? You know what it really means now, but you still say you'll believe the wrong thing? Thats totally absurd.

None of those other engine designations are under dispute buddy, so go find out for yourself in your own time...

Don't kid myself? You judge a place you've never been to on the basis of one photo... thats gold! Here, heres a few more photos of the 'Auto wreckers': See that 3 story high shed? Thats were they keep all the parts for retail. Wheels, tyres, engines, exhausts, seats... you name it they're lying around every where (top floor and below)

In response to a few members wanting to showcase their own photos of Japan and their experiences over there, we've finally made use of the sub-forum for the SAU Japan Photo Diaries. I'm popping in to give Scathing my full support. 32line: I'm a credible source and 'RB' doesn't mean anything. I know where you got that idea of Race Bred from. You know why Wikipedia says it's 'disputed'? It's because some so called journalist wanting to sound like he knew his shit came up with it one day to make his article sound good. You'd be suprised how much disinformation came out in magazines around 1995 - 1999 about Japanese cars etc.... MAX POWER UK anyone? Give it up 32line there are too many knowledgable people around to say you're mistaken.

Circuit tuned Mazda Roadster at Osaka Automesse. (Autobacs Secohan Ichiba demo car) KFC in Ashiya... Colonel Sanders would be proud of this place. Yamanba... enough said. There is an even more extreme version than this which featured on 'Sanma no Manma' the other night with black - and I mean black - foundation.
