  1. Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but this year is the Skylines 50th Anniversary, and the covenience store 'Lawson' is selling these awesome little 1/72nd scale Skylines ranging from the KPGC10 GT-R to the V35 Coupe (R31, R33 and R34 are absent for some reason)... with a bonus V36 Skyline sedan 350GT Type SP to the first 5000 people who apply (keep those reciepts!). They come packaged in these red plastic things that join two cans of coffee together so you have to buy two cans at once... lol kinda funny if you don't like can coffee... total cost is about AU$4.00. They're all diecast and the moulding is excellent for this scale. I've got all 6 of the regular models and am waiting to see if I can get the V36. Some pics: Edit: This is in JAPAN by the way!!!

  6. I've asked around about the 'benbutsu' aswell, my father-in-law reckons it's a typo... have you seen 'benbutsu' anywhere else on Nissan fast? Whatever the case, they're just saying 'genbutsu kakunin n1 shou' means '(visually) check that the part is an N1'. Can't help much more than that sorry. Edit: too late... lol
  7. Yes, the guy is still at large and the police failed to 'secure' him while they were at his apartment. I doubt the police intentionally wanted this bit of info to leak, but it happened in an apartment building so who knows who saw what. This sheds some light on what happened: http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/national/new...0na009000c.html
  8. Saw this on TV this morning... the show ('Tokudane' I think) said she was probably doing a home English lesson at the guys place? Whatever happened, it made me feel pretty sick when they expained what may have happened using CG with the bathtub and sand... reminded me of Silence of the Lambs a bit.

    Japan Residents......

Haha... not sure whether they sell actual 'kids', better ask Angelina Jolie about that one On the BJ Union site they cost 92,400yen with tax, so I'd say from a large retailer or online you could get them a bit cheaper. Hello to everybody btw, it's been a while

    Japan

^^^ This would be my plan of attack too. Save all the touristy stuff for another time when you aren't so rushed.
  11. Nissan Japan actually use the term 'rocker cover' aswell, it wasn't a bad translation. But having said that, Nissan also use 'cam cover' and at one stage have even been guilty of using - can you believe it - 'TAPPET COVER' to describe those long metal bits that go over the cams... when was the last time you heard that? I'm not sure I can even remember what tappets are lol
  12. Just mobile number and/or phone email addy.
  13. No worries Poida, I added you to the list. Btw, to the people who are attending, who's going to meet up afterwards? And at what time? I was thinking 6pm out front of the main entrance, but if anyone has a better plan (Richard?) then let's hear it. I'm not familiar with any decent Izakayas or bar around there, so if anyone has a place that they can recommend let me know.
  14. Ok Richard no probs. I'll have a pretty decent DSLR setup aswell. Nikon of course... lol battle of the photos.
  15. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!! That is a serious letdown, but will be good to catch up later on. I'll be cashing that raincheck mate don't you worry...

    35 Gtr...

About the 'e-4WD' set up on the next GT-R, it was made very clear last year ('05) about the cars FR transaxel, which to me sounded like an about face on the rumours that the car would be 4WD at all... having said that though, I think (some kind of) 4WD system is on the cards and always has been. If you have a look at Mitsubishi's development with their 'MIEV' technology (placing an electric motor in each wheel), Nissan would be crazy to invest in traditional 4WD system now... thats assuming the car with include 4WD. But you never know, I've followed the Japanese press for a number of years now regarding the next GT-R, and really the only thing you can be sure of is that the GT-R will be the best possible sportscar made by Nissan under the current leadership... if thats not enough to topple the 997 Turbo then blame that Brazilian guy from Renault...
  17. I'm here mate... just a little tied up at the moment with moving stuff. I sadi I would be there by beginning of November, but thats now looking like beginning of January! So I hope I can be there a few days before TAS kicks off. Just a few questions to some people: Mr Keets: Whats your first name bud? I need to add you to the list. RaceBorn: Good stuff, will see you there... Nick/Richard: Have you blokes organised passes for the Friday yet? I'm still keen, I'm just not 100% sure if I can get over there for the Friday yet so... just bear with me, I'll let you know asap.
  18. LOL Can't have white people getting laid exclusively can we!!! That goes against Hollywood stereotyping! Maybe argue your point with Keiko Funky, you never know you might just get laid...
  19. So she's a prostitute posing as an innocent 'lil Japanesey nieve unplucked flower lol...
  20. Sorry can't answer your question about Melbourne, but I've found after 11 months of searching in Perth, that 8 out of 10 so called 'Japanese' restaurants are actually run and owned by Korean/Chinese/Malay/Philipine/Singaporean people. The 2 places that ARE genuine Japanese restaurants don't advertise and are quite small or don't have flashy style establishments. It's kinda like an Aussie going to Japan and opening up a Russian restaurant...
  21. Fianlly... FINALLY GT has a proper 'in car' view with full dashboard. Halleluja
  22. Well, it all started when I wanted to post up some info about the 400R, Apex A450 and Nismo GT-R LM Road Car etc, but someone asked if I knew about the 280 MR... this was a couple of years ago... so I posted it in the 'Japans Supercar' thread, not that it's a supercar, just it was together in that thread. Maybe the fact that only 7 were produced makes it a little super?
  23. There are a few Large RWD Japanese cars by Nissan (Fuga) and Toyota (Mark X) etc that would scare Holden/Ford into solely making Taxi's. The only trouble is they aren't specced as lowly as the Commondore and Falcon, and by the time they got here, the base bare-bones models (if they existed) would be mid $30K range... not price competitive.
  24. Can you??? Reeeeeeeaaaaaally?
  25. Danger... Danger... She'll be in deep shit very shortly if she isn't already. I know of some 'Americans and Europeans' that would respond to that with glee and shower her with alot of money and be the most innocent and loving man/stranger in the world... then fcuk her 374 ways and drain her bank account and steal anything of value (bags/watches/jewellery)... all with a smile on their face and in good taste of course. But I always used to say after I get the sob story from new J-students who had been 'used' by foreign guys that: "It was your fault for underestimating the goodwill of men 'holidaying' in other countries..." I always used to get these sob stories because my wife and I would work together at the school, the student would tell my wife first, then my wife would tell me, then before I knew it I was doing emergency couselling for said student. ... yes it was that common...
