^^^ I was going to recommend Kiwi anyways... wierd.
  7. In AU? I doubt it. In Japan they're all genuine. In AU I think a company out of Singapore called 'Avanti' make replicas called 'Viper Mesh' or something (they had a smooth lip around the outer rim as apposed to the Sparcos 'ridged' outer lip)... my brother bought a set for his Swift GTi like 10 years ago... so the genuine Sparcos are probably mostly limited to the imports you see going around.
  8. Sparco Vipers... I had them on my R32 when I 1st got it.
  9. I think too many Nissan 'newbies' are confusing 'Nissans Sports Heritage' with 'Turbo'... Of curse the turbo has played a big part in Nissans previous 20 years, but if you look at the whole picture, turbos are just a *part* of it... alot of you guys are writing off Nissan altogether just because there aren't any turbos in their current line-up. The Fairlady Z is a good car without a turbo! Ok, the V35 Coupe doesn't get the stamp of approval styling wise, but 280ps N/A V6? Sounds good to me...
  10. Fellas.... Nissan got into the sh*t because of bad business practices during the 'Bubble Economy' years! What did they do during the 'Bubble' era??? They made fookin expensively designed turbo sports cars that led their respective classes and sold them for cheap!!! They designed about 28 variations of every model!!! They plugged HUGE amounts of capital into 'insta-reputation' racing teams!!! (read: they thought that no one in Europe took them seriously until they won Le Mans, WRC, Group A etc)... I could go on... What we see now is Nissan trying to make amends for the excesses of the '80s and early '90s. Think of the 'good times' Australian government under Bob Hawke... then a recession under Keating... get it? I think for all they've gone through, Nissan are doing as good as can be humanly expected right now. God I can't stand Carlos Ghosn, but I admit he's pretty good at beancounting.

    'r35gtr' a no go?

Yeah I think the Tokyo 2001 Concept spurred on peoples imaginations a bit... but now the 'photochopped GT-R' is just about as predictable as Australia winning cricket matches. It gets to a point where people ask 'alright, now what IS Nissan doing?' They must be doing something while all the fanboys come up with their renditions right?
  15. No... I think he means MANBOO
  16. ^^^ Shan I think they were responsible for the R32 4-Door GT-R aswell? You know the one... Btw, there was an R32 Autech Version for sale at Yahoo JP Auctions for about 1,500,000 yen... I'd get one if I knew who could do the auto -> manual conversion here for reasonable cost.
  17. Geez you get around don't ya???
  18. I *can't believe* no ones mentioned Bee-R B5 Sports Wheels:

I think it's more of a question of 'why should they make a statement?'... All they're doing is following the same system they've been using since the 50's. Why they should change that now, in 2005 (or whenever) is just pointless. Look, the whole reason talking about this is because: *cue slow classical guitar solo* ..."Back in the early 2000's, Americans - due to an unforseen (*cough*) disaster - realized that there was a WHOLE WORLD out there, you know, other than the United States... ...Low and behold... there were alot of cool un-American things, one of those being the 'Nee-sahn Skyline GT-R'. Hollywood unsurprisingly jumped on this trend of cool un-American stuff and made a couple of movies: "The Fast and the Furious" and "2fast2furious"... alot of kids loved the cheezyness... well, it made them feel better about their own cheezy lives if Hollywood acknowedged it. ... so the 'American Fanboy Massif' grew to accomodate the 'clueless American Fanboy JDM geek'... ...I emphasise clueless... the trouble is, America is a H-U-G-E country, and stopping those geeks is nigh on impossible (as I've personally found out over the last 2 years)... it seems they don't want to listen to reason - they only want to listen to mommy. If mommy says it's 'R35/6/7/8/9' then so be it... F*CK what Nissan have been doing for the last 50 years... ... it seems theres no changing the JDM fanboys minds... and so ends the tale. *cue fading classical guitar solo*
  22. Just go to SuperAutobacs when they have their sales on... I picked up an Apex aircleaner for 10% (turns out to be 5% actually because they add tax!) off retail. Alternatively, Up Garage, Autobacs Seco-han Ichiba etc often sell new items that are a good 20 - 30% off retail... it could be anything though, theres no consistency.
  23. Good to hear from you mate! My plans have changed somewhat since I spoke to you last... anyways I'll get back to you on PF.
  24. Yes... they're quite popular with circuit racers of all sorts. I think RE Amemiya used to use them on their circuit FD3S (the yellow one) a few years back, countless smaller cars use them ie: privately owned Civics, Starlets etc... at A$600 a rim new (for 17") they're not cheap, and they're one of the lightest rims out there still, after 10 odd years. You could probably sell your 18"s for $1,200 - 1,500 for the set depending on condition. But I'd hang on to them... especially in 18 inch they're probably as light as Volk TE37s.
