  1. Ok here goes... and I hope you don't lose your car! Who ever said that Nissan designates the 1st letter of the chassis code after the engine? The Z33 Failady Z/350Z wasn't called a "V"33 because it's not a Skyline... the first letters of the chassis code are different for different models even though they carry the same engine. What you said about the S13/14/15 Silvias and 180SXs isn't correct either, because the S13 Silvia (turbo) was first released with the infamous CA18DET, not the SR20DET. Final point: the engine code may have some bearing on the chassis code designation, but you answered your own question regarding this because if Nissan did indeed use the 1st letter of the engine code as the 1st letter of the chassis code, then we'd have a "V"33 350Z wouldn't we?! To answer your mate, NO... there is no R35!!! If he has access to some secret Nissan insider info that I don't know about this, please get him to PM me!
  2. A place called "Final Motion" does them, but it seems their homepage is down. The R32 GT-R Carbon kevlar front lip spoilers go for 68,000 yen
  3. Geebus keerist, I can get a carbon kevlar one for that money. Mind you the waiting list is about 3 months

    Whoretown Japan....

Tell me about... sometimes they stare at you like they want you to die or something... or get out of Japan whichever comes first! It's sad, and just in the last couple of days I've decided when I definately leave these small, curious, irritating but wonderful islands.
  7. Depends on what you class as "reasonably new"... you'd most likely see (in Osaka) those old black non-flatscreen TVs lying about, say 50cm screen... that type of thing. Silver flatscreens are still worth something so it's unlikely that you'll see them on the street. Plasmas? Hahaha...
  8. Are you coming to TAS Shan?
  9. The *really* scary thing is that you're about the 5th bloke whos publicly annouced that... :uhh:
  10. Shan's taking his sweet time so... Autobacs "Seco-han Ichiba" in: Chiba Hachiouji City ...and Autobacs Seco-han Ichiba website
  11. Why drive about seaching for stuff at shops when you got oodles of parts right there on the monitor, at ridiculous prices and gets sent straight to your door? *edit: I got some parts (namely my wheels/tyres) from Seco-han Ichiba, so it is worth checking out...
  12. Yahoo Auctions! ... aaaaah... thats all I can say.

Don't you know about the bar called "Liitle Feet"? They bought about 15 of them through that pet shop about 4 years ago.

Seriosly though, I can't say there are any customs that are a "slap in the face" to me, but it depends on who you ask I guess. Some newcomer foreigners to Japan have asked me "why do Japanese wave their open hand up and down (like a karate chop) when they want to get past you?"... I guess they asked because they were a bit taken aback by it, maybe they felt intimidated, but it's actually a very polite way to show your intention of entering someones personal space... like giving them advance warning before you barge through (eg: on the train). Other than that... not eating until everybody has been served their dinner? Some gaijin just jump right in regardless to the disgust of certain mothers-in-law (hehe )... Oh I just remembered one: sniffing all the snot up into your upper nasal cavity as loud as you can because blowing your nose in public is considered offensive... I cannot dig that.

Put it this way... theres a pet shop in Kobe that sells MONKEYS. Not the Japanese type either, I'm talking about Spider Monkeys... the odd chimp... even the little black and white ones that steal sh*t... thats not to mention the MINIATURE PENGUINS, the ARMADILLO and... wait for it... a WALLABY. I kid you not.I think its illegal, but you can't deny Japanese girls of cute animals.
  23. Yet another page in the next GT-R development unfolds... a) Nissan are well aware of the popularity of the GT-R outside of Japan, and are looking to make the next GT-R well and truly stand out more than previous incarnations. The "World Market GT-R" as it were... just by translating the article from Holiday Auto, you can feel that the next GT-R has truly broken away from the "old" R-series GT-Rs... (I can hear the crying and monitor bashing from here!) B) Porsche 911 Turbo is going down... in fact, it seems Nissan are already claiming victory (???)... such is their confidence after the Nurburgring tests. Aparently, the first test failed because some driveline hardware was faulty, but the subsequent 2 tests were successful enough for Nissan to make final descisions on the driveline: 3.2L V6 Twin electric-assisted Turbo, FR-L platform (Primary Front engine/Rear wheel drive transaxel, motor-assisted front wheel drive or "e-4WD") with Getrag 7-speed sequential gearbox. After much deliberation about 3.0, 3.5 and even 4.1L capacities for the VQ engine, they've decided on 3.2. The thing to bear in mind here is the Porsche 911 Turbo... it seems Nissan may want to defeat Porsche with less capacity... Expected final power output: 480ps @ 7,200rpm, 58.0kg/m @ 5,200rpm. c) Other specs of note are the "semi-wet sump" (as opposed to the dry sump originally quoted) and the aluminium spaceframe, steel cabin and bulk usage of carbon throughout. And now... let the cursing and coffee spitting-out begin... This... my fellow SAU brethren... is one of the submissions from a joint Nissan Japan/Europe/US design team that is going into the draw for an "in-house" GT-R design competition... :spcow: Just a little bit cloooooserrrrrrrr... :spcow: :spcow: Just when you thought they couldn't F$%# up the GT-R design anymore... I give you: THE REAR END!!! :spcow: :spcow: :spcow: Of note here is the 255/40/20 front, 285/35/20 rear tyre size on 20" wheels. Thats about it for now... theres still quite alot of the article that I haven't translated yet, but it all centers around the transaxel and Getrag gearbox which even Holiday Auto themselves aren't so sure about (the Getrag box in particular). Stay tune... /Rezz

HOLY SH!T... where'd you get that purple one???? Looks like one of those really deep sea ones that glow... you can see right through them. But anyways, here in Ashiya, it's without a doubt DOGS. DOGS are EVERYWHERE. They poop EVERYWHERE. Pedigree C0ckaspaniards, Golden retreevers, Poobles (shaved really wierd), Rottenwielers... you name it. But of course Ashiya is a well to do area, so the people here can afford larger places with small backyards for the dogs... Dogs are much more common in the country.

Yeah, I had a plate of thinly sliced Kobe beef which set us back about 10,000 yen just for the plate! But damn... smother those slices in salt and butter... best sliced beef I've ever had, but that was it, sliced beef and beer... *edit* - the beef was grilled over an open flameLike this:
