  1. Yeah Jess, that was me. The car has come a long way since I first turned a wheel in it back in 2007. Next time you'll have to come and say hi to us... in between tyre changes. I was hoping to have a run with Beau at some stage but it never worked out that way... oh well, I think we are going to the next one, at least I hope so!!!
  2. This was a good event, we always get heaps of track time and hopefully with all the drivers behaving and impressing EC they will let us keep going. Got to say a few of my passengers seemed a little scared drifting through turns 4-8 in the dark and then out of 8, 4th gear, into the floodlights and transistioning down the hill into 9 without being able to see the track!!! (actually I was a little worried the first time I did it as you really could not see, lol) Stay sidewayz kidz!
  3. Wow, What a massive weekend, I'm still stoked! Sureflo Exhaust put together a great car this weekend, that almost made the distance, 4th is an amesome result and it's great to have had some good luck for once. Thanks must go to the car crew for the weekend, Team Owner Greg Stevenson was even in there making sure evereything ran smoothly, fueling, tyre changes, cleaning things, car fluids, and camera's, jack of all trades on the weekend! Russ was doing everything, even though he is only medically allowed to lift 10kg's he kept doing more and will have quite substaintial pain now for the week or so, thanks mate. James came down to get a taste of the drift competition and was invaluable in his assistance, having a fellow driver in the pit crew I highly recomend. Caz has a sore back, but did little jobs and kept us all fed and watered. Kirk took pictures early, but couldn't stay out of the pits once we made the Top 4! Thanks to Steve for your help on Saturday, it was a shame you didn't make it on the Sunday, but I guess the chief won that "chat" We can't race without our Sponsors either, so thank you very much to everyone who has stuck with us through all the bad luck, Sureflo Exhaust, Caz Racing, Speedshot's, Textralia, and Sam's Performance. Also a big thanks to those that joined us this year, Federal Tyres (Awesome hoops, I'll be running these for Circuit racing also) and Balistic Cat's and Mufflers. And although she will problably never read it I have to thank my 8 1/2 month pregnant wife Jody for putting up with all this racing caper for so many years, and for letting me travel all over the country. I love you baby, and always will Thanks also must go to the supporters, you guys keep us going. I didn't have a lot of time to chat to you guys, but thank you for coming out and I hope you all keep supporting us. Stay Sidewayz Kidz! Dan. (Still Superstoked driver of the Drift Z)
  4. Looks like we won't quite make it. I did a little more damage then we thought to the Z the other day and we've all been too busy to get it done, unfortunately the Skyline is close but also not quite there... just needs the wastgate and some intake piping done now... NICE! Have fun you lot, I'll post up for the next one also, so keep your eyes peeled.
  5. I'll email them now, just to give them a heads up. They usually organise the Ambo on the day though if 10 or more are there by 10am, so we'll have to see how we go. Cheers.
  6. Sounds like quite a few are keen, costs are $140 for the day. Pay on the Day. I think I might have to organise some slicks and the drift Z for some circuit fun.
  7. Hi All, Oran Park have another Practice day on the GP Circuit scheduled for Monday 31st of August. I'm thinking of going out, who's keen? No need to book, but if we advise of intended numbers early then they can book Ambo etc and then more than 4 cars are permitted on track at any one time. Needed is the usual safety gear and a CAMS L2S licence. Post up if you think you might get out for a play. I'm going to flick it up on the AUS300ZX forum also. Stay Sidewayz Kidz, Dan.
  8. hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm, Nov 24th... rd 4 looks like a maybe.
  9. Someone say beer? Fatz, I think you need to buy a new GTR... last weeks one is soooooooo last week.
  10. Yes, agreed, have you still got the motovation bug?
  11. I'm gonna start a "Late Notice Track day" thread and see if we can generate some interest around town and for the next ones. I'll post a link in here when I get it going... Man I had some fun... Slick tyres are very awesome fun. Controlling 700rwkw... Stuuuuupidly fun... and breaking for turn 1 into turn 2 at around 255km/h SCARY!
  12. Mate these day's are the best kept secret... I could have lapped continuously from 9:30am to 4:30pm if the car could have handled it, only once was there the maximum of 4 cars out there. Mostly there was only 2 cars on track.
  13. Spewin Ports... you missed a good day... probably only 8 cars there... HEAPS of track time... I was buggered by 1:30.
  14. I had a full ankle reconstruction 8 weeks ago, I'm going to the track tomorrow. You'll be right sugar blossom.
  15. How hard is always a tough one, it really is up to you. Basically each course last about 50-70 seconds, then you rest, mostly first maybe second gear. A few starts and stops. My opinion is it really isn't that hard on your car, but if you choose to do 7500 rpm launches, drift the course and slide into the box on the hand break then things will wear out quicker. It is also worth servicing your car before any motorsport event. Having said that, this is awesome value and a great way to get a taste for motor sport without huge expense and in a friendly fun environment. An opportunity not to be missed. Hope this helps. Dan.
  16. Ok... I'm coming... see if I'll have a car to drive, then I'll pay some coin.
  17. Yeah, I've been looking around for my bloody stopwatch... but am unable to find it... Maybe it is still in my tool box???
  18. Lol, I'm looking for pictures later tonight hopefully... see how busy I get between now and then, followed by how buggered I am as a result. I'm going either way... OP GP Rocks out!
  19. BBM, 9679 9622 Call em and ask for Luke, tell him I sent you. Dan.
  20. Ryan, I won't know till probably the start of each month, but I'll try to let everybody know ASAP.
  21. Hey Guys, With Oran Park closing very very soon it is time to take advantage of the track while it is still there. They run open practice days on all the 3 layouts of the track, this Thursday (23-07-09) is going be a GP layout. What you need. CAMS level 2 Speed licence. You can join Skylines Australia NSW and buy a licence which will last you approximately $150 total. This last for a whole year and gives you access to these days at both Oran Park and Eastern Creek and Wakefield. A working car, with no oil leaks and loose parts etc. A Helmet and long cotton clothing. Fuel, some lubes and your toolbox. Food is not available at the track, so bring some or take a trip into Narrellen. Camera (There will be some pretty cool race cars out at the track.) Probably something else I forgot. For More info contact Oran Park. www.oranpark.com.au See you there, Dan.
  22. Chris bring the MX5 mate, we'll get it sideways! I'm going to be there, and we'll have the drift Z too, so come on down guys and lets get sidewayz!
