  1. The S-AFC has been sold for $350, the FCD is still for sale (and open to offers).
  2. It's not a GTR, it's a GTS-R Edit: some pics of one. The R overwrites the S so it's easy to miss and think it says GTR.
  3. If it won't move off feet it could be something simple like a missing vacuum line or a control rod slipped off its pivot. Try pulling the middle bits out of the dash and see if you can find anything wrong.
  4. Damn, I would have taken them if they were 17's! And if you were in Sydney
  5. That's a bit less than what I was after, but I will keep it in mind if I get desperate Thanks for the offer.
  6. I ran the same oil for 10000km (changed at 5000) and didn't have any problems at all aside for slightly lower power and slightly worse fuel economy. The oil pressure was also higher but it never caused any problems. I've since switched to the cheaper 5W-30 Formula R just for the slightly more power and economy. Oh and the $20 less on each service The thinner oil doesn't give any less protection, unless your engine is worn or you are running insane power (1000hp+).
  7. I would be putting 36 to 40psi in them, depending on what sort of tyres they are. The pressure limits should be listed on the tyre. Either way, my old Nankangs on the Commodore were only rated to 32psi but I ran them all day everyday at 36-38. My current tyres have around a 50psi limit so they would probably be fine to around 55-60. But that's entirely useless so I generally run them at around 38-40 similar to what Craved said (more pressure up front).
  8. Depending on how deep it is, you might want to try one of those CD repair kits on it. Probably the cheapest semi-permanent option.
  9. Some pads (probably factory pads, not sure but mine had them either way) have a metal bracket on the inside, which touches on the metal disc when the pad gets low. This will make a metallic screeching noise which is really annoying. Either the noise itself is meant to be the warning or it was originally designed to hook up to a circuit like on some cars (but not apparently on Skylines) that show a light in the dash to tell you when the pads are low. Screeching could be many things, this is just one possibility. Usually it's glazing or something.
  10. Update: S-AFC has been sold, and sale of FCD has been put on hold for the time being. This is because if the PowerFC does not help with my surging problem or does not give me the power gains I expect, I will sell it and buy another S-AFC and re-install the FCD.
  11. That was probably a GTS-R, with the GT wing? Was it yellow?
  12. Someone trying to not get his car stolen coz he can't afford insurance
  13. How are they "much better" than Hybrid?
  14. That is usually just a line fed to the seller to try getting the price down. Even if you like the colour, umm'ing and ah'ing over stupid shit like the colour is a good haggling lever. Imagine if you turn up and go "Oh man, red! I've been looking for this colour for ages! I love it!" the seller probably isn't going to drop his price at all If you think about it this way, they wouldn't have even rung up in the first place if they hated the colour so much that it would stop their purchase of it. So anyone that you speak to on the phone or comes around to look at it (assuming the colour was listed in the ad) really is just feeding you bullshit if they say they're not going to buy it coz it's the wrong colour. I agree though that some colours will get more inquiries due to more people liking them, but whatever colour it is, at least some people will like it or totally not care so it will eventually sell no matter what you have. Although I have to admit I can't figure out what kind of person that likes that metallic puke green that Holden and Ford have out at the moment
  15. maybe it only works when the car is travelling at a >70 degree angle
  16. Yeah Skylines have had the gay interior since the R32.
  17. Damn, that is an excellent price, even the RRP of $900 is pretty cheap. I would buy one in an instant if I didn't already have a front mount.
  18. Maybe that's a series 1.25 or something
  19. $320 for a pair of 18" Nittos is damned cheap. Aren't they worth like double that, EACH? I'm sure I've seen some prices somewhere and they were like $500-600 each or more. BOOSTD, keep us posted about how long they last, I was also under the impression that they don't last very long (hence mostly used for drag racing only).
  20. Ah, I forgot to post a follow up to me re-tightening my bolts. Firstly, the alignment doesn't seem any different. The left tyre still scrubs on the plastic inner guard same as before (I'm gonna take it out this weekend). The car steers the same (very nicely indeed). However, when I went to loosen and re-tighten the bolts on the suspension arm, they felt kinda loose. Much looser than I remember doing them up, despite the rather "tight" thread. The main pivot bolt seemed as tight as ever though. I can only deduce that when the car is on the ground, a lot of tension in the arm gets taken out and the 2 nuts at the suspension arm end aren't as tight anymore. This would also explain why it was virtually farkin impossible to get the nuts off the first time with the car on axle stands and wheels in the air. So my advice for anyone doing radius rods - loosen the 2 nuts while the car is on the ground first, if you can. And after you're finished, tighten them up again when the car is back on the ground.
  21. I think the later series 1's has the silver badge with the open grille rather than red s with slat grille. Mine has the former, there was a time I thought it was an aftermarket grille but now I think it was just the later series 1's. Series 2 has the badge on the bonnet instead of grille.
  22. How can anyone forget the sexy sexy series 1 velour interior in the series 1.5? I often thought that if I bought a series 2 R33, I would track down a series 1 interior to put in! Jay, you should have used frying your ECU as an excuse to get a Powerfc
  23. Let's not forget the Mugen and TRD stickers!
  24. From Marvel Boy. The whole point of this thread is to find Legend a nice car for around $25k. Marvel Boy mentioned the XR6T so I assumed he knows where to get them for $25k.
