  1. This is the updated version of the famous VQ30DET. This is not the same as the 300ZX VG30DETT. Its basically a VQ30DE out of the V35 skyline, with oil squirters, lower compression and a turbo thats very similar to an R34 GTT turbine. Quoted at 206kw and strong as hell these engines are perfect for a drift set-up or a perfect candidate for engine transplant into a skyline or Silvia. I was driving my Y34 cedric with this engine for a few weeks until the transmission blew up, so I garantee the engine is in great condition. It comes complete with loom and ECU, but NOT including a transmission. It also comes with the Y34 subframe including steering rack and suspension, so you might even be able to make that fit. Contact Ben on 0417 366 372 or email me at [email protected]
  2. Do i need to remove the front CV's, or can they stay in?
  3. that would involve a custom tailshaft, different ECU and possibly loom, RWD sump and change of all the suspension components. I'm going to keep the FWD components and just remove the front driveshaft, so when/if someone wants, they can get the rear actuator gear and ECU and make it 4WD.
  4. I'm missing a lot of gear to make my Cedric a 4WD RB25DET. I've worked out that i need to remove the front driveshaft to make it RWD, but since i bought the engine in half cut format, the line out the back of the transfer case has been cut. Can i just block off the transfer case line in order to only have RWD? I cannot run 4WD as im missing the actuators and the ECU and some other components which are specific to the cedric according to part number comparisons between the cedric and stagea. Thanks for your help! Ben
  5. PLEASE DELETE THREAD! Obviously people are too confused about the thread title to help.
  6. After a lot of research i have found that i should just remove the front driveshaft to make it RWD only. I now only have 1 question. Do i need to remove the front CV's? Will the front wheels spinning cause the front diff to lock up? After reading the below post i can assume that i can just remove the line and fit a cap/block off onto the end of transfer case line opening. Any help would be very much appreciated!
  7. 4. Can i just remove the front driveshaft, front CV's and block up the rear hydraulic line off the back of the tranfer case that's meant to go to the rear diff?
  8. I have a Nissan Cedric with the CVT automatic and VQ30DET. The CVT blew up, so i needed it replaced. Was going to cost 6-12K to have it rebuilt (not joking) or 2K to get a 2nd hand one from Japan which could be in the same condition. The Cedric also was released as a 4WD RB25DET normal automatic. I found a guy that brought in a half cut, so i bought it from him. Im in the process of swapping the engine and transmission over from the cut into my car including the ECU's and wiring harness. The problem is, my transmission tunnel does not have a hollow out to fit in the transfer case and the importer does not have the actuator assembly for the 4WD system. The 4WD stagea actuators look different and have different part numbers, so im pretty sure they wont fit, and then the wiring loom will need to be made as i have no clue where it wires up to. NOTE: I cant convert to manual as my handbrake is a foot brake and would cause huge nightmares. 1. Can I convert to a Stagea RWD auto and would the ecu need to change? 2. Can I remove the transfer case off the gearbox and fit a tailshaft, or is that not possible? 3. Can i use a stagea actuator assembly, and does anyone know how to wire it up? Thanks for your help and advise. Ben
  9. been a few weeks and i've stripped the cut down and removed the dash and the engine with the subframe attached from the chassis. Next step is to do the same to my car. Already hit a snag though. The RB25DET has the transfer case, and my transmission tunnel doesnt have the nice big opening for it to fit in. Might have to chop it out and swap it over with mine. Another headache! Anyone want a VQ30DET? Mine will be for sale. $2500 firm.
  10. Sourcing or repairing my black VIP's CVT is near impossible and extremely expensive, and of course it'll only fail again in time. So my option was to convert to the 'normal' auto found in the gloria/cedric. I've had issues finding appropriate boxes/donor cars, so I have sourced a replacement engine & transmission. This will be Australia's only RB25DET 4WD Y34 and possibly the worlds 1st VIP leather packed RB25DET. The RB25 cedric/gloria is not able to be imported as no one has the emissions report. As my car is already complied and has been registered, i can swap it over and have it engineered. The 4WD setup will mean massive suspension changes on my car, but im hoping everything will bolt up between the 2 chassis. If i cant get it to work, then I'll remove the shafts and transfer case and make it RWD only. The good news is someone will be able to buy my VQ30DET engine Updates as they come to hand.
  11. sold under deposit pending full payment! About bloody time too.
  12. Price Plunge to $8500! Dont even try and offer me less or i'll ignore/hang up on you.
  13. yeah chis will be able to do the job. These Y34's come with 3 different versions of dash screens and firmware, so cost will vary. I attempted to fit a boost bleed valve to my Silver Y34 but couldnt notice any change in PSI. There is a vacuum hose and connection near the passenger headlight which i believe is the boost control solenoid. Remove it and plumb in your bleeder and it "should" work.
  14. Price drop to $10,000 ono. No swaps sorry! PS - ono means nearest offer, so dont low ball me please!
  15. still trying to justify your existence hey? If someone, including you, was interested in buying the car, they would call me. Even if you didnt have the money, i would have been more prepared to listen to your side of the story then to read your text messages. Stop the responses. Moderators: please remove any futher communications in this thread unless it is relevant to my sale.
  16. ok, let me get this straight. My asking price is 13K ono. Do you understand what OR NEAREST OFFER means? Maybe you're too stupid to realise that 5k is well under half of 13k. Most people would think, if i offer 3k under the asking price, maybe he will accept or at least give me his minimum price. You offer 5k and think that you are not being rude and wasting my time!? Seriously mate, fu(k off. Im not prepared to keep wasting my time and my thread on a useless wanker that wants to pose about his 'convetible' in a for sale thread. If you had 10K then you would have made some bids on the car or offered a reasonable price in the 1st place. Andrew, do not reply to this thread. If you have something more to say, PM me.
  17. thanks for the invitation to show the sms transcript between you and me. I think everyone will find that you indeed are the rude wanker that offers less then half the asking price and thinks its acceptable. '240k convertible': whats the lowest you'll take to sell the nissan this weekend? Im a cash buyer but dont have 13k 'me': what do you want to offer? '240k convertible': Not much, i have 5k and could maybe get a little more. I just wanted to know how motivated you were to sell cheers Andrew 'me': go buy a corolla. when you get 10K you can ask again. '240k convertible': If i had 10K i wouldnt even consider a cedric. GTr's are going for that these days. cheers anyway mate 'me': then f*ck off wanabe 2 hours later.... '240k convertible': go suck your dads cock and swallow his come. your dreaming if you think you'll get 10k for it. 'me': wow that must have taken you a while to think up... oh wait, it DID. loser.
  18. just thought i'd excite you blokes some more in an effort to convince you that extending the home loan might be worth it  Just add springs/airbags and a decent set of wheels to become:
