  1. Qld has emissions regs????. I've never had to worry about that before and I've had non standard turbos on my cars. Edit. I your aftermarket turbo obvious? Like this > I never got asked about an emissions test or mod plate.
  2. From past expetience, la1 plate is easy to get, my last one was $120. Just as long as the brakes are equal or bigger then those fitted to a vl commodore. Wheels - 18" is legal no if or buts about anything bigger Get your screamer welded in and a cat fitted and your exhaust will be legal provided under 90db. Personally if something is said about the holes for intercooler , refer to gtr having those holes stock?? That's pretty much your only problems in Qld from my experience.
  3. yeah thats funny but still didnt answer my question. does anyone make a workshop manual, all the ones ive found online dont do engine pull down/rebuilding. i payed for one on ebay about a month ago but it never came.
  4. Or for a little bit more you can get an atr43 to suit 250kw or 300 depending on your goals. I've got my atr43 ss1 running 7psi so there isn't much reason you can't modify slowly, just be very careful about what you do in what order, I cracked a piston by taking too long to get it all tuned. But I did make 230kw with a cracked piston.
  5. From memory he does a hiflow to suit stock everything except ecu, nistunes are pretty cheap, iirc it's like $900-$1000 with the braided oil line. Suits up to 230kw.
  6. Ok next question. Does anyone make a workshop manual for the r34 or c34??
  7. Defects in Qld, all 3 times I just took it to Qld transport and they inspected it and said replace this and that, went and did it and they signed the paperwork. Although a defect for having a smelly exhaust sounds a bit stupid. Like my wife's Honda accord euro has a smelly exhaust and its got the factory titanium/stainless exhaust.
  8. Gtr turbo is made to suit 3 cylinders equalling 1.3litres, your rb25 is a 2.5 litre. Just get an atr43 or highflow from hypergear.
  9. Any cashed up friends, just get one of them to pawn it for you, like they give you 17k and you give them 17k to get it back in a few months?
  10. I wish it was an media pc, it's just a windows 6.0 based head unit. Still trying to find a way to get Nissan data scan to load in it. But yeah deffinately looks nice.
  11. here is my new addition, dvd, gps,tv,iphone.
  12. somewhere between using bad fuel once and my turbo failied andinstalling a hypergear/walbro/450cc injectors, nistune and taking too long to get booked in at a tuner, them delaying it an extra week because they couldnt get my front shaft out (they charged me an hours labour to not get it out)(took me 10 mins and i dont even have a jack), it was tuned st 306hp, 20 psi at 4000rpm dropping to 14psi at 7000rpm. on the way home from the tune i had a strange noise (i now think it was audible knock) and repeated check engine lights so pulled over about 10 mins after picking it, (pulled over as soon as the light came on) rang the tuner and he never returned my call. it never ran properly after that, did a compression test after trying all sorts of tests and came back at 96 167 167 167 167 167, tipped in some oil and came up to 130, i found 4 big problems once i had it apart, broken engine mount, cracked piston, valve about to drop, headgasket borderline blown, so yeah been a few months driving my mums camry.
  13. Cracked number 1 piston
  14. I was intending to ring spot on but my dad took the block before I had a chance to call, he picked it up on new years day and he was dropping it at his machinist on his way home from work. They have done quite a few rbs so I think it should be fine. He was saying that the mahle pistons are shit and don't work in an rb, that's why I thought I would check about the cp pistons. That's very reassuring. Thank you.
  15. I'm up for a cruise pending my car running again. Maybe 3 weeks time ish. Cruise might be my run in though.
  16. I've towed a few times with mine (rs4s), my only complaint is my excedy heavy duty slipped when accelerating ocassionally up hills. But I would deffinately recommend a brake upgrade just as a safety concern. Emergency stops are not possible. But my previous tow cars have been a 2002 Camry, 1976 corona, 97 surf, 89 falcon, 2000 hilux 2wd. The stagea towed better then those. Just for information my mods were as follows. 3inch exhaust, front mount, k&n panel filter, split fire coils and the clutch.
  17. Ok block is at the machinist, just want a confirmation. Has anyone had any problems what so ever with cp pistons?
  18. Sorry for off topic but Toyota surf is actually a ct20b. The ct26 was fitted to 3sgte and 7mgte. So the ct26 isn't a bad option if it's the one from a supra/soarer. Might be slightly laggier then stock but yer.
  19. Maybe they stopped making them in 2010 ??? But last year there wasn't a manual option.
  20. i have had a quick read, but il have a better read through it tommorrow, thanks
  21. Oh. That's not what I've been told . I was only told about an external oil feed option. Thanks for that.
  22. ok there is lots of responses on here il try to do them in order. r33 eddy - im avoiding using erd (had a great experience with him and a less satisfying experience), but they out source their machining as far as i know or atleast thats what i read on here. wolverine - i did consider the rb30 and i talked to rips about it but just isnt what i am after. i want to try to keep my vct. if i could keep the vct i probably would have got one already. rolls - il definately discuss my options with a machinist before purchasing anything. tangles - crd is in silverwater nsw, im guessing you miss typed erd, as above not wanting to use them. i was looking at cp pistons because i assumed they would be a cheapish opton. im really only looking to do a refresh with new pistons/rings, oil pump and bearings anyway. dvs - is it an awd block? wolverine - as above is a good option just no vct opton so
  23. At a guess $500 at a minimum for shipping. So I could just assume $3500 aud to send it, have it done and send it back. I didn't really want to pay that much but it's an option if I can't find anything closer.
  24. I fail to see how wanting a fresh motor is a bad thing, if I get someone with experience to do the machining there isn't really anything that can go wrong.
  25. $3500 nzd approx for rips to do it. Plus shipping both ways.
