  1. tailor made ones because of your insanely huge quads I hope? Yeah it's funny about straight bar curls - I luckily have no issues at all with them, but a lot of people do.
  2. ah yeah, how do you compare the PPP to 5/3/1? Sounded like they were kind of similar. I looked at Beyond 5/3/1, but might be a bit advanced just yet.
  3. did you stay on it? Gotta read the book to see which variant I want to start off with.
  4. haha it's a bit like that isn't it Birdy. I've had old guys, farken ripped, strong looking guys and a couple of power lifters compliment me on my squat depth and weight. I've explained to a few that it's more of a reflection of how low the standard is at our gym, and that I'll consider it ok when I'm squatting my 1RM for reps - I haven't seen anyone other than 1 middle aged former power lifter squat >130 for reps. Most use the smith machine + pussy pad though, and the pro bodybuilder + clients only does isolations (dat 600kg leg press though lol) I reckon I'd feel pretty weak stepping into a PTC, but then again, I don't have a coach or a spotter, and I'm eating at a defecit still. I think that the fact that I'm still fairly fat spins people out too, as there are no other fat guys who use the free weights at our gym, only bearmodes. My training style is very radical for our gym too - curls with straight bar, OHP, heavy squats, rows, SLDL 3x a week, face pulls etc. Started doing bodyweight dips, feels good man (apart from stretching out one of my traps).
  5. Yeah I was going to - only squatting once per week will be tough though
  6. good for grip too. Only downside is the looks you get in the gym from carrying around dumbbells lol.
  7. i believe that would be meant in the context of "going on a diet" rather than nutrition in general This thread has been kind of quiet lately, has Markos abandoned us totally?!
  8. farmer's walk, deadlift. Has anyone tried 5/3/1 before? Thoughts on it? I was going to start it as my intermediate program, once I hit the 120kg bench and 200kg deadlift goals I currently have.
  9. been into a bit of Necro lately, like his rhymes and beats, pity the man himself carries on like such a douche on his Facebook page.
  10. it looks like there was some frames cut out of that video, but apparently it was due to there being plates stacked up behind the platform - the barbell bounced back into the way of his back as he was falling. From what I've seen of the program, doing a 3rm snatch was crazy after the amount of stuff they'd done in the preceding days. Surprisingly the event wasn't halted for this either.
  11. 43,44,43,44 here lol, and was 42 yesterday. Can't wait for the "cool change" of 35 on the weekend!
  12. managed to give myself an insane headache yesterday from doing my squats - the symptoms appear to be that of an exertion headache, I guess I didn't realise just how much hotter it was in the gym. Had to cut my routine short, so hopefully no dramas with SLDL and bench today!
  13. i only really care when people who present themselves as role models or are teaching / instructing / motivating others lie about their use. It's bad enough the legions of young guys who think they can look like an IFBB pro or Zyzz without chemical assistance, let alone those supposedly setting an example, Kali Muscle being a notable case.
  14. eat clenbuterol, trenbolone hard lol. Troy I was under the impression that it was verboten to actively discuss it here - I find it an interesting topic, but have no plans to use myself (and I'd be mad to at this point). I used to find decline easier than flat Birds - I have noticed that nobody uses the decline bench at the gym any more, has it fallen out of vogue now?
  15. bretty sure you're not allowed to discuss gear use on this board - AusBB has a gear section
  16. yeah the crowning irony in that is that we are educating the educators who will end up appropriating (or attempting to) the education market from us.
  17. 4 minutes 14 on actual training etc I do like his philosophy though, also the fact that he freely admits to having juiced before, unlike most YouTube fitness types (aka Kali Muscle, become pro bodybuilder on Tuna and Ramen LOL)
  18. haha yeah I figured that too without watching the video (but I do like Elliot Hulse when he's not waxing philosophical) Did bench and OHP for the first time in a month with light weight and skipped dips, so far so good, I've also started rolling my traps and upper shoulders with a cricket ball which really helps too.
  19. isn't sumo shifting the load to your hips more than back? either way I prefer conventional, and most pros do it that way. taking a week off for sore traps/elbow to get better (which they are) still feel like I'm losing strength though lol
