  1. You certainly keep track of the prices and posts on here Wei. Sometimes it is just a case of an opportunity arising - for the buyer, the right car presenting itself, or for the seller, the right buyer presenting himself, at the right time. I've seen cases of R33 or R34 GTRs selling quickly for more than I'd thought they'd go for simply because a buyer came on the scene quickly and snapped it up; the opposite has also happened where what seems to be a quality car takes a while to sell. Doesn't mean the first car in this example is necessarily much more valuable than the second; it's just chance Some of the junk that has emerged in the classifieds from certain traders also has not helped And for the record, even though in this case I've now bought a Nur instead with a fair bit of extra kit, part of me still misses the old black non-V, it was genuinely a great car and the (now not-so) new owner is hopefully enjoying it
  2. Yours is a very tidy 33R Matt. Loved the Nismo titanium strut brace too - I'm sure you're in no doubt as to how much it's worth too Um... Never mind. Thanks mate, I think! The Lowdown have uploaded their video edit - take a look, it's fantastic! Need to watch it in HD. Caught bits and pieces of my car in there but not a complete shot, haha. Jayson and his mate also got some air time! (check out 02:36)
  3. No worries, it was good to meet you Harry, I hope you can bring the finish back to what it was on your GT-Ns. Cheers Matt
  4. +1 curious to know if there are any 400Rs here?
  5. Does anyone know the story behind this thing? Is it genuine? Saw it at the Showcased event and it looked pretty damn good as far as I could tell. The only thing that caught my eye was that it seemed to have a series 1 rear Nissan badge (old Nissan logo) but had a V.spec II badge which AFAIK = series II. Plus it has a V.spec II bonnet. http://www.the-lowdown.com/s-tune-gtr/
  6. Yeah the UK cars also got different indicators and parking lights with their standard-fit oil cooler.
  7. Availability is much better if you're willing to settle for a GT instead of a GTS. Mechanically identical (except for the autos where the GT's diff is non-LSD) and another 5 grand cheaper. If you're going to end up tuning it up and/or tracking it anyway, the GT sounds like the way to go. The GTS just adds mostly comfort-oriented stuff like heated leather seats, sports pedals, dual climate, xenons and keyless/smart start, plus 17"s, but you will probably end up ditching the stock rims for some aftermarket anyway, so the GT doesn't lose out there. What does everyone think of the ad?
  8. Pics of Nathan's awesome TRD Supra - courtesy of the-lowdown.com.
  9. The new ad aired last night - features the Drift King - Keiichi Tsuchiya... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAN_3H2MScw&feature=player_embedded Toyota also launched their microsite for the car yesterday - www.rawdriving.com.au And also check out this interesting layout for the 86 specs and features on the website. It's one continuous feature display as you keep scrolling down. http://www.toyota.com.au/86?WT.ac=Toyota_GlobalNav_Cars_86
  10. A few quick iPhone pics I took on the day: Great turnout and variety of different sorts of cars.
  11. Thanks natett - and huge congrats to you if I'm not mistaken, your TRD Supra took out Best in Show, right? Can we have a few more pics of your car? I managed to grab one of your engine bay but there were too many people standing around your car to get a good shot of the exterior Thanks for the pics Anthony. Was good to see you again, you did a great job cleaning the car after a long drive down from Newy! Yeah we didn't really spend much time lining up cars to begin with, maybe next time you could help us arrange them, and next time hopefully we'll have more SAU guys together with some banners and merchandise, etc. Was great to meet you Jayson, your KR4 33R looked amazing. I forgot your mate's name but his '02 also looked fantastic; incredibly tidy classic!
  12. Yep see you guys at 9:45 Have cleaned the inside of my wheels, now she is under a cover in the garage
  13. No worries guys, glad you got some utility out of it
  14. Here's a little teaser on how my 2 hour drive in the 86 went this afternoon: 3.28pm, Royal National Park
  15. True that. Would be good to get pics of the two cars together and get the bumblebee combo going
  16. Also just confirmed with TLD Will be part of the SAU group too, of course. Thanks Jay Looking forward to seeing everyone there
  17. No worries, here you go... got a few of you in there but virtually all wind noise until Paul turns up. Don't think Nick had enough room to give it too much
  18. Check out 3:00 onwards Couldn't find the bit where the subway train crashes into the street. It wasn't a very memorable movie yet somehow I remember it
  19. Or that time you nearly understeered off Mac pass Would love to be able to drive like Tiff. There's no such thing as understeer when driving a train is there Pat unless youre Keanu in Speed
  20. Looks brilliant! The blue wasn't all that high on my list until I saw this. Toyota/Subaru have had aftermarket in mind when designing the car, so lowering it a bit and fitting slightly bigger rims shouldn't do much harm. This one's obviously had some camber applied to it... As far as your GTR-spec 17x9s, as I understand it, the stock rims (on GTS grade) are 17 x 7.0, and you can easily use 17 x 9.0s but both the offset and stud pattern of your rims in particular will be wrong - the 86 will need higher offsets and a 5x100 PCD.
  21. Already been down to melbourne to drive a car back. Was good fun actually, just need plenty of good music and preferably cruise control, to get you through o nthe hume on the way back. Could've come back through the snowy but didn't want to risk it in a car I'd only known for about 8 hours...
  22. How did I miss that scene in the rear view mirror?!
  23. That does look good actually
  24. Here's a nice 370GT - same engine... http://www.carsales....nd=370gt|CarAll 2007, 22,300km, manual, it's in Victoria but there are people here in Syd who could help make the blue slipping process easier. Or, if you're willing to go white (it's a nice pearl white, not a flat white), there are a couple of white ones in Sydney with low kms, however while they're listed as private sales, they look to be traders. In fact, they look to be from the same trader and if I'm not mistaken, a trader that doesn't have a particularly good rep. Oh and welcome to SAU
