  1. I believe it has to do with government subsidies IRT "renewables", most cars ran/run fine on a 10% blend, this gives the illusion that we are pushing alternate fuel sources, without really going all in. I believe E85 in the US was readily available due to big subsidies and a big environmental push, recently though ethanol production looks like it has taken a massive hit and production is slowing. The focus on electric vehicles has taken precedence over liquid renewables. Another issue with ethanol is it uses land that could be used for food crops. Corn syrup is the devil....the devil I tells ya......yada yada yada....conspiracy this, multinational that....
  2. They get $4 a litre (average) for it when they turn it into coke. If you could stop everyone from trying to get diabetes by not eating and drinking sugar based products like softdrinks and all the added sugar in processed food there may be financial reasons for the big companies to push ethanol, but, we are all fat sugar crazed monsters. Sugar is the devil......yada yada yada....conspiracy this, multinational that....
  3. Finally removed the roof "antenna", 15 seconds with some fishing line, 30 minutes cleaning off the crap, then some polish and wax. Why..becauae people are f**king idiots...
  4. As we export about 80% of our sugar production there is no profitable marketing reason to manufacturer ethanol for a major fuel source. It will always be a niche market whilst there is more money in export. Sad, but true. In saying that, I've been buying 98 for 0.99c over the last week of the apocalypse.
  5. New FE2 height springs and shocks are in. Raised the car about 30mm. Rear now is 360mm, front 370mm. All set for some Dukes of Hazard shit. One of the old Sachs dampers on the back was shot. Car drives nice and straight on the throttle and on the brakes. I had a rough go at getting the alignment sorted, it is pretty close, but will see JAX at Liverpool soon. I've got some camber bushings, some rear subframe bushings and a diff insert coming (next week), I'll get the alignment done after sticking them in. Also flushed the power steering. It's a super comfortable, virus free, old bogan cruise ship. Things that I'm planning on outsourcing: 1. Trans service with Transgo HD2 shift kit (service because it is due, shift kit for the LOLS). 2. Dyno time and tweek for 98 if required. 3. Auto elec to sort out cruise control, I've checked fuses, unpluged and replugged everything, I'm tapping out and sending it off to a professional. The thing is running pretty hard and nice and smooth, sounds the business on full throttle, looking forward to getting the shift kit in. STRAYA, f**k YEAH Edit: Check out the racing spec tow ball, #becausebogancruiseshipf**kyeah
  6. My favorite bit is it is parked in a disabled spot
  7. 16 years, wow.
  8. I'm 55 and an ex smoker, so I don't want it. More importantly though, I have alot of elderly relatives and other family members with young children, plus a few with asthma. So, by restricting my activities, I reduce the risk of bringing this to my "circle of trust". I acknowledge it's hard to change habits, I'm lucky due to my job, I can go months without seeing my family face to face, and am use to training with limited equipment and space. But if you stay positive it isn't really that much of a issue. Facetime, whatsapp and such helps. Moreso I believe is working out your fitness regime with limited on hand equipment. But again, if you put you mind to it there is alot of bodyweight exercises that can work both strenght and cardio. I'm doing alot of you tubing, watching hot chicks doing pilates and Yoga and circuits.
  9. Nope, I don't agree with you at all, going for a ride is full of variables, crash, break down, some idiot spits out the window (saw this yesterday going to work). You want fitness, do 100 burpees. I've owned motorbikes for over 40 years, you cannot get a workout legally unless you are on a track. And if you are getting a workout on the street, then you are riding like a pork chop, adding more variables. Just because you want to, doesn't mean you should. I want to do my weekly Maroubra to Bondi walk, but I don't. I want to go for a swim, but I don't. I want to see my daughter, but I don't. I want to see my other family members, but I don't. It's not just the risk to me, it is the risk to others if I have it and don't know. Risk vs reward Have you been to the shops over the last week or two? Have you been tested? Do you live with any family or friends? Surely people can comply for a few months, it is only hard to comply if "you" make it hard. I believe people thrive on not wanting to conform, it's the rebel without a cause attitude, which has worked well so far in spreading the virus world wide. Going for a motorbike ride for exersice, LOL, if you said riding a pushbike..... Idris be like That excuse in itself deserves a fine. Again, just because "you" want to do something, doesn't make it right, or even sensible in the current climate. But do what you want, what's the worst that could happen. Me, I'm exercising at home, simples.
  10. "Unfairly implemented", if it wasn't for these unfairly implemented laws every person who couldn't impliment self control would be out at the beach, or church, or park spreading the virus, like alot basically are. They have been coming up with some epic excuses, it reminds me of kids who don't want to take a bath. People are typically blind to the "needs of the many" because they cannot see past their own selfish needs to do what they want. The narcissism is strong in some people. Meh, what's the worst that could happen.
  11. LOL, if you break the law because you, worked out a way to, or just "I don't wanna", at least keep the Coronas to yourself and not spread it like all the other people who disregard the warnings, and spread it to their family members, who tend to die, a fair bit. Hell, what is the worst that could happen.
  12. I want more sidewall. I going "full bogan spec" 17 x 9 chasers with black caps. I'll get some Hankook RS-4 255/40 17, should give me 20mm more sidewall. Slight diameter change, 24.8 diameter, as opposed to the OEM 235/45 17 which are 25.1. Should be 100kph on speedo and 99 on, ummm, the radar gun. Will sell the 19" Simmons once the car is "full bogan spec".
  13. Door was a cheap fix, just needed to reconnect the clip. Getting to the clip on the other hand was a PITA, lots of jamming the phone inside and taking pics, then jamming my hand in and blindly fumbling around until the blue clip was reattached to the rod.
  14. Plugs and leads are done. Also replaced the OEM heat shielding (masonite with tinfoil glued on) with real heat sheilding, held in position by 2 x OEM clips and 1 x cable tie (LOL, cable ties already)
  15. LOL, Chevy badges on Holdens causes the AIDS. In other news Coolant flushed Car is all clean and shiny Decided to do the spark plugs.....but.....the first lead I pulled fell to bits $130 later I now have For Jobs for tomorrow Plugs and...leads Trouble shoot inactive cruise control. i.e. "look at the fuse" Pull door trim and see why the front inside passenger door handle doesn't work, well I know why it doesn't work, the handle is good but it seems to be missing a spring or something????, I'll most likely pull the trim off the drivers front as well to see what it is meant to look like.
  16. Just ordered new Ultima struts and FE2 height king springs $600 delivered (I pulled a wheel and the shocks looked like the originals from 2002, the FE2 springs will give me an additional 10-15mm height, helpful when doing Dukes of Hazards jumps), and some $20 spring compressors (again, I cannot find my old set, meh, $20, ppfftt) off Ebay to swap out the strut tops. But tomorrow is coolant flush then full external clean, wash under the car as well as the paint, then polish, glaze then wax. I'll also give some of the fixtures a squirt with penetrant in preparation for undoing suspension nuts and bolts, hopefully next weekend. Psycotherapy and a bit of a work out.
  17. Just did oil and filter change. Pulled dipstick and noticed it was a little cracked, so....I wobbled it and it broke. Dip stick is now about 1.5 inches to short. Fill with filter is 5 litres, so I just dumped the whole 5 litres of Castrol Edge 0w 40 into its belly. New dipstick is incoming, thanks to Ebay.
  18. Rear main has a reciept from a couple of years ago. There is some sweating around the pump, not alot, but enough for future investigation.
  19. Edit: I thought you said you were the previous owner, I then started to ramble and quiz for info....my comprehension kung fu is weak. Apart from the broken passenger door handle...I was trapped in the passenger seat for a minute or 2 this morning, I assume it's rhe plastic linkage thingie, or hopefully, a circlip.
  20. Tri-y's Good for daily abuse. Response is instant ?
  21. Oh, and ride height, center of hub to guard, is 335mm front and 330mm rear. Appear to be King spring "low". It also passed the speed hump test heading into work, thats a bonus.
  22. They say when dementia kicks in you revert to your younger years. But then, I've been demented all my life. In other news, the battery has passed the trickle charger test and will sit on charge for the night.
  23. Lots of reciepts Pacemaker headers and exhaust - 2016 VCM OTR - 2016 Tuned by "Oztrack" - 2016 Rebuilt diff 3.9 gears - 2016 Rebuilt transmission - 2016 New radiator - 2018 New T2 DBA rotors- 2018 Bushings - 2018 Lots of servicing and maintenance. History looks to be 1 owner till 2015, then next owner proceed to throw cash at it. From the googles it "should" be around 220ish kw and 500ish nm, I will see what it really is after I service it and it gets on the dyno.
