  1. If you can drive, then 130C is only ever a couple of laps away. What the dealer boys did tootling around, and what you do in a track day are a little different....and 130C will be your friend
  2. Here at Willall Racing we just fitted a nice track upgrade package that we do for those interested in keeping the performance up and the temperatures under control during a circuit session We fitted - WR35TM Transmission Fluid WR35DF Differential Fluid WR35MP Performance Midpipe Assy WR35TC GR6 Transmission Intercooler Assy (full kit) Heres a nice shot from under the car showing some of the parts involved
  3. It makes us happy to see you enjoy the Willall Midpipe as much as we do Snowman Next up is to swap out to WR35TM in the transmission and rid your GTR of all those little zinging and whining noises in the transmission....
  4. Do a search on Hennessey on the Viper forums.....there is some brutal stuff there alright
  5. Congrats Snowman! Welcome aboard, and hope it sounds better soon....you know what I mean
  6. No 35s then.........they arent a Skyline OR an RB
  7. Why do you keep going on about some grey area? The rules are HARD AND FAST tight on legal and illegal light vehicle modifications from DOTARS in Canberra. There is no grey area in this, and a member of SAPOL is certainly NO EXPERT in the matter, which is why they refer it to TRANSPORT SA at Regency. They are the judge of fact in road legality in South Australia. All SAPOL can do is tell you what pricks their ears up to defect your car. With all due respect to Neil I wouldnt expect him to have a clue about the maximum Carbon Monoxide for an IM240 drive cycle, thats for a transport inspector, not a police officer. He MAY be able to guide you through the right things to say to avoid a defect station canary, but in terms of DOTARS ADR modification standards, I would rely on the words of an engineer, as this simply isnt part of the SAPOL training
  8. Well put that one (or that type of thing) on the table for Neil to clarify, and that will be a good step in the right direction for everyone
  9. And sadly, even though I love modified cars, and would no doubt enjoy your modifications, unless you have an exemption or recognised engineering approval from our friends at Transport SA....the car is illegally modified in the eyes of SAPOL. Sucks eh, but I dont make the rules. Now see my point?
  10. Maybe a bit harsh, but answer this - What mods have you got on the Monster R32 GTR?
  11. Spotted these at the shop today....
  12. Good on you Nene, everyone needs to do what they believe in, otherwise life becomes a forum
  13. Go Neil.... There you go, all good Goddam I even held a dyno day for SAU!...one of the very first, at Tilbrooks
  14. Well yes......................
  15. A fast one too
  16. Exactly! Im the slow one, my partner is the crazy, he's run plenty of 8s in his GTR Thats more like it
  17. 10 and 11 second ones, you? What Nene does with the Police is invaluable, but just dont think it makes you bulletproof, as to the majority of Traffic Cops its always going to be 'Neil who?'
  18. We had a couple of R35 GTRs at Willall Racing today (albeit one of them is our car!) A full upgrade/race service was performed on the silver car, consisting of - WR35TM GR6 Transmission Fluid WR35TC GR6 Transmission Intercooler System WR35MP GTR Midpipe Assembly WR35DF Solid Boundary Differential Fluid WR35MO 10w-60 synthetic Engine Oil Genuine Nissan R35 GTR Oil Filter Cobb AP Stage II 97 RON 1.08B Engine Tune Not a cheap service, but > 50kw gain, and a much nicer sounding, driving package
  19. Correct, and you won't meet me on a cruise....and although we have some nice Skylines/GTRs thats exactly my point. However I have been a member here since 2002 and been an active drag racer most of the time. Go figure
  20. Spot on Nene, SAPOL will indeed leave you alone if you are not breaking the law, which includes HOONING/SPEEDING and DRIVING AN ILLEGALLY MODIFIED VEHICLE.....maybe he just forgot that bit, but its pertinent when it applies to probably 80% of the members here
  21. I dunno, I find it hard to assimilate the two.....a guy/gal thats interested in setting their car up to run quick at the quarter is NOT the same person you find in Bunnings car park at Mile End lining up for a cuise. Well at least never has been in my experience. Maybe the latest generation is a different beast
  22. I must be getting old or something (likely) But I remember it differently.... Those that would spend $70 to enter an Off Street Drag Meet, spend $400 on a set of ET Radials, and put some effort into their cars WERE VERY MUCH DIFFERENT to those that bought retreads, bolted on steel rims, and did single pegger burnouts in carparks. Put simply in my experience none of the real hoons ever went to the track as to be laughed at for a 16 second pass was much harder than 'chucking a guardie' and hangin tough on the street somewhere....much more expensive too. Some of the members here that actually used to go run their cars at the drags, Whatisname, Munro, etc. might agree with that one too. Its four years later, but really, whats changed? I would love a drag strip for one, but to think it will change anything is a laugh, shhhh dont tell them though, we just might get something for nothing!
  23. A word of advice. Be careful of what you pour in the GR6. The clutches are sensitive, and a conventional gear oil can in many instances delaminate the bonding on the friction plates in a matter of minutes/hours. Those touting Redline as a GR6 transmission fluid alternative have never actually poured it into a GR6 and when they do could potentially run into big trouble, real fast. We know this from testing everything we make in a real R35 GTR, rather than looking at a few spec sheets on the net. GR6 clutches are not a cheap fix thats for sure. so protect them like your children
  24. You dont get it do you Tangles (all due respect of course) The Sunday Mail referred to those involved in the accident as 'Drag Racers' and that they were 'Drag Racing' Public perception of people involved in these sports as being evil, and aligned with murderous acts against the general public is reinforced by the Sunday Mail Any government that put a cent into 'Drag Racing' after this would be committing political suicide. This accident helps ensure we will never have a drag strip....and furthermore its the 150km/h set on city roads that never attended when we had a strip in the first place. In the 10 years I was a regular there were only ever a handful or WRX or Skylines that went to the track. Most of them hated real world competition, were scared of being judged in light of a cold hard timesheet, and instead did dumb shit on the street like this that destroys it for everyone Possibly if SAPOL had defected these idiots off the road months ago, they would have saved some young lives in the process. Bet your bottom dollar thats the official position (and more than likely the truth), so get in the brace position, and be prepared for a traffic cop canary hammering and harrassment campaign of the sorts you have only ever had nightmares about. Now maybe that is my last post?
  25. No it would mean you spend time in Mikes jail. No more. Now thats my last post
