  1. Engine was buttoned up today and most of the ancillaries put back onto it getting ready for installation back into the subframe. At the moment we are also rebuilding the bell housing to remove that annoying rattle many GTRs suffer from and toughen up the installation some. Everything is on track in this department - and notice the extended sump - important for high horsepower GTRs that may just well see a track. With the engine being finalised its time to lay out the newest generation GReddy twin turbo kit featuring the cast manifolds to avoid any chance of cracking under high engine loads. It looks like a nice setup, but having a fair bit of experience with the GReddy kit we are making some of our own little engineering changes to make it even better!
  2. An interesting build which we have been commissioned for. Take 1 x well used, 70,000km 09 ADM GTR and build it into a reliable daily driveable and mid 9 second package. First up to strip the car.... Dropping both engine and transmission out of the vehicle its time to start stripping them down and begin the process of making something ultimately more power and much stronger. Already this GTR with a small turbo upgrade on 98 octane fuel put down 385kw at the rear wheels The stock engine although have a few kms under its belt was near perfect internally, with not a mark on the bores...which kind of makes the whole 80,000km rebuild thing look like the internet myth that it really was. This old girl looked like she could have gone another 100,000km without batting an eyelid The new powerplant is a Greddy 3.8 litre combination we have put together with forged pistons/rods, head studs, and HKS head gaskets. This engine should have no trouble supporting 25 - 30 psi of boost pressure reliably - should it be required. On top of the tough bottom end we are putting a set of Stage I cylinder heads, lightly ported, cleaned, and freshed in line with the rest of the engine. Next we will finish the engine and build a tough and reliable transmission to hold the 550+rwkw this combination needs to put down
  3. Getting a few small marks out of the paint of the WR600 was left to Hamish from Elite. Any SA GTR owners should keep this guy in mind, he did an excellent job on the WR600.... We were so excited that we just had to take it out the track to thumb some Porsches the next day!
  4. Evo6 wont sustain 30psi on a stock turbo. The turbo is nowhere near big enough to get it done. Take that as read 30psi can be spiked through it low in the rpm range though, bend all the rods and get them to kick out the side of the block. 30psi is massive boost for any production petrol engine....good luck with it! (Thanks Jet)
  5. Ok back to it...the latest fuel system required to feed Slips monster GTR at 30psi boost. Thats 3 x external pumps Meet 'TRIPOD'
  6. Hey Munro, update your signature..... "2011 Nissan R35 GTR GT Blue - Willall Titanium exhaust, E85 Injectors, Custom COBB tune. 385awkw."
  7. We have 2 x ADM R32 GTRs I have always liked them. I worked on them when they were new
  8. I remember when we were the first in the world to run an 11 second pass in an SST transmission Evo X Some of the guys on US message boards were adamant it was simple in Australia as due to our equatorial proximity, and being upside down, everything weighed less in Australia. True
  9. Steering geometry is changed in MY12 Most of the changes are around damp and spring rates Transmissions are for the most part identical throughout the series with some tiny tiny changes that you need to measure with a micrometer.
  10. E85 You can see from the little 'flame rings' that the 'ign cut severity' is running overtime for the traction control. Its a cool pic
  11. A wallpaper for those that like flames http://www.ls1turbo.com.au/pics/gtrwallpaper.jpg
  12. Its pretty simple really MY12 > MY11 > MY10 > MY09 Most of it is refininement and slight software touchups. The big change came between the Gen1 cars (MY09/MY10) and Gen2 cars (MY11/MY12) Gen2 has better suspension than Gen1 and better sound deadening for the cruisers. Other than that the hardware is pretty much identical.
  13. Cmon Bartlett lets see what you got. Apparently Art is coming out to line you up in the pink terror. BTW you are going up on the wall of fame today at work No point in going out there with anything unless its full prep.
  14. It would come as a pretty big shock if that thing had twice the power of Heslos......just saying
  15. We are down for this Please forward details. could work nicely for us that date
  16. It does make sense Matt Had a discussion about the car over the weekend and we want to do a couple of things next up First is to put it into a 9 second pass at the drag strip for a bit of fun, and then back it up with a 1:10 lap at Mallala All retaining the WR600s perfect drive their/drive back nature
  17. Roll racing....lol racing? That Viper has around 250rwkw by the looks....677rwp - nope
  18. Some of the Syvecs engine management log data to go through after the weekend.....going to take me some time, however its so elegant, no pressing start/stop or having a hand controller in the car, just plug in the Ethernet cable and download at your leisure
  19. Some installation shots of the WR600 MY12 Willall Racing/Whiteline suspension tweaks (note on earlier models we change the spring/damper combination as well) Camber offset bushes installed in top arms With the camber bushes and castor bushes in place the MY12 can deliver -3 degrees negative camber in the front end, which is preferable for fast track work, and still be dialled out for street dutires Front roll bar stifness has been changed to stop the car kneeling over on the outside loaded tyre, which is a major contributor to the beating the GTR gives its front tyres at the track, and a major contributor to understeer Upgraded rear bar balances the effect of the front sway bar change to keep the chassis neutral
  20. We keep a lot of the stock suspension rehab. In fact this run was on - totally - stock suspension. However in the next few weeks we are integrating some roll stiffness and camber into the car with our suspension development partner Whiteline
  21. An epic shot - GTR in pole, Bartys 32 in 3rd, my Subaru in 5th By the end of the day we were Willall cars P1, P2, and P3 in outright fastest times....then an Evo6 of ours....then the Porsches
  22. Matt: 1:11.9 on official Dorian timing, fastest car of the day - updates to follow!
  23. And totally missing the point of GTR in the first place..... There are much better cars for dyno racing or drag racing, just not many better actual cars though
