No.The Sale of AIR has not gone through, which is bad news for guys with comp cars, but street meets(such as the one on the 1st feb)will go ahead as planned.4,6,&rotor Nats still on too. I drove the R33 on the street today. It's a bit of a handfull.RWD only is a waste of time. Will be nice & warm on Fri night.I will be taking the R34 out for a prowl after 10.Prob cruise through the city & down to bay for icecream. I was down at boomers couple weeks back, let me know of next victor trip, I may come too. Henry - just got back from Coober Pedy.CP to PtAgutta - 3hrs10m Gotta love that 6th gear & cruise control.See ya.
-
I'll cruise both nights if nice weather. Fri 24th - cruise Fri 31st - cruise Sat 1st - drags Fri 7th - 4,6,&rotary cruise Fri 8th - 4,6,&rotary drags Sun 16th - ute muster @ Murray Bridge Sat 1st - westernationals (WA)Kiwana Sat 8th - AIR comp meet Sat 15th - western 4,6,&rotary shootout.(WA)Kiwana Hmmm.Looks like my calendar is fairly full.

Original????? An old VS with a pushrod,2 valve per cylinder, aussie 5.0 V8? Even the VT with a Gen III would be better than that. To 'properly supercharge' a V8 will cost heaps & not be as reliable as a turbo six. My 2 cents worth - stick with technology.Go sick on your Skyline. Or if you have to, buy a V8 that is already modified.

Commercial metal polishing at Greenfields is very good.He did my R33 GTR wheels + has done work for my brother.See Gino.He is a good guy.Just off martins Rd near Joes golden gas guzzlers.

Hey guys. How about 7th feb Friday night(its the 4,6&rotary cruise) not sure on details.Could have a warm up cruise on Fri 31st?
-
Hmmm. I'm sure you guys over there will have some good street racing over there to sort this out.I wish there were more tough Skylines over here to cruise with. Adelaide seems to be a bit quiet lately. It's fun caning in the hills & all, but when all you can find to race against is bikes you do seem to wonder where are all the tough cars? I agree with Fatz on this one.Lots of guys have fast cars, but when the rubber meets the road (or track) where are they? Wish I could cruise with you guys over there sometime. It would be nice to really go hardcore with some other likeminded thrashers like me. Tough cars are designed to drive hard.Cant wait to give my 3 litre a bootfull & See what the thing can actually do. I just registered it today.Be fun to drive it out to the track for some testing. If you need mirrors you are not going fast enough.

Whats The Best Replacement Turbo For Stock Gt-r Turbo's?...
Munro replied to GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
HKS 2530s would be wild.2540s will give more top end but be a bit laggy under 4000rpm. -
Yep, & it's very annoying. The triple & quads do it to. I have an exedy twin in the R34 & at the lights, in neutral with my foot off the clutch pedal it rattles its head off. Nothing much you can do about it.
-
I take it you mean burgundy & injectors? What size are they? What ECU are you running? What is a "kars"? There is only one nationals for these type of cars in Adelaide per year. How many kars meetings are there? Is your car still there?Or were you the guy picking his car up this arvo?there were 2 burgundy R32 GTRs there today.

I still haven't found a new home for my Trust 6 speed. It's rebuilt, complete with good transfer case, Trust shifter & gearknob, bell housing shield & ready to bolt in. Asking $12000 ono. Anyone looking for a serious gearbox for their GTR?
-
I was hanging out at Tilbrooks today(as I often do 'cause my R33 spends more time there than at home!) & I counted 12 Skylines there at one time!(Half of them were GTRs!)There was also a 300zx & a couple of 180sx.I think Mark must like working on Nissans or something. If you want a tune up or modification before the 4,6& rotary Nationals on 8th Feb at AIR, better get into gear 'cause there is a 3 week wait to get in there. Apparently there are heaps of interstate cars coming over for this meeting, so it would be great to see a good turnout of local Skylines etc.Cant remember there being many SA skylines out there last year so lets see if we cant get everyone out there this year.Even if you dont want to race, bring your Skyline out anyway & just show it off. Keir is building up a new race car from a shell, I think Mario is coming over, the Subzero boys are definately coming, & my car will "hopefully" be doing it's first 9 sec pass.(Have Holinger & Nittos now) 5 weeks to go.Should be a great time.:uh-huh:

V-max? As in top speed runs? I may be interested. When & where is it? Do we get a "get out of jail free" card? When are we going to get some skylines together for another cruise?
-
I hardly ever watch telly(option videos are much better) I flicked on to chanel 9 & what the **** that show is crazy. I think I'll stick to option videos is future!!! The japs build wild cars but their TV shows are bent big time. Whats up with the "sponsorship" dude at the end? I reckon he'll get punched out! Unbelievable.

I've got a set of R33 GTR wheels that have just been polished. They have newish 255/40/17 Toyo RA1s on them. They are on the car which is at Tilbrooks at the moment if you want to see them. The tyres were $2200 & polishing cost $600 so if you only want to spend $2500 all up go for the interstate ones. I do need some cheaper rims to keep the car rolling so I may be interested in trading in a cheaper set of 17s.

At the moment I am using HKS 2835R turbos. They are smaller than yours & may be replaced later once the rest of the car is fully sorted out. I dont have a handbrake.Instead I use a line locker in the back brake line with a button on the steering wheel. The plan is to take up the driveline slack with the back brakes locked on & release them on the launch.Haven't mastered it yet & am breaking heaps of shit!!! Eventually I would like to run 3240 turbos, but I'll wait & see.

I drove a XR6turbo sedan ( a press release car) about a month ago.I was very impressed with the instant power delivery & the general feel of the car to drive.Runs out of puff over 5 grand, but felt much nicer to drive than the GenIII does.Drive by wire throttle control & a very nice interior + excellent power delivery = one good setup.Martin has taken delivery of a new turbo ute & you can be sure he will test out the modification potential. It made 190rwkw stock! I am going to wait a see what the new quad cam V8 is like to drive before I run out & trade in the SS ute!It will take a bit for me to change camps for my hay hauler, but it seems that Ford are really taking it up to Holden now.Must say it's about time the V8s came out of the dark ages & changed to 4 valve OHC. Imagine a twin turbo conversion on the new 5.4L quad cam V8! XR8 260kw - Pursuit ute 290kw - Turbo Pursuit ute ?kw Hmmm. In the meantime I'll just enjoy the Skyline.

G'day guys. I wasn't impressed with them at the drags, but for handling on the street thet are supposed to be the bees knees. 20k out of a set!!! You are dreaming. I only got 9000kms out of my V102 yokos(265/35/18) on the R34. I have a set of 265/35/18 RE540s coming for the R34 now & will be happy to get 8-10000kms out of them.Wanted to go to 285s on the rear but cant get them - would of looked the part though! 4,6&chook cooker national coming soon. Holinger is in & should be ready for testing within a week or so. When is next street meet?

Awesome.Fast Skylines are so cool. I also have an R33 GTR.So far it has done a 10.6 @ 137mph. Wouldn't exactly call it "street legal" though.I am currently looking at my fuel system.Have 6 x 1000cc injectors, but am thinking of running a 2nd rail with 550cc as well.I couldn't tell from your photo if you have 2 rails or not? I have just received a new Holinger 6speed & hopefully the car will be ready to race in mid January.I have never pulled nines before, so hopefully, with this new combination we can crack through the barrier into single digit territory. Another Adelaide fella has driven to the track & pulled 9.74 recently.I've been in it (an R32 GTR) on the street & it's very streetable. You are right - they are amazing cars. Hmmm, weather. We have the opposite problem.Last couple of times at the track it was nearly 40 degrees!Great for traction but not too good for turbo cars(or the drivers) Oh well, at least the nights are nice & warm.Night racing would be good! Cheers, Munro.

$75 large for an R34 GTR in Australia?? Where would this be at? I've been keeping an eye on R34 prices since I bought mine in July & I have not seen one for less than $95 k.The last Unique cars had 6 for sale between $95 & $125. These prices seem to be fairly stable compared to the R33 GTR. For half the money of an R34 the R33 GTR is really great value. A new Honda S2000 is $80,400.Not too much more to stretch to the R34 GTR & much more satisfying.Great with the top down & cruising through town etc, but the Honda really needs to be driven hard to get the best out of it & by the time the VTEC has cut in the R34 would be on the horizion.Nothing like the torque of a twin turbo RB26 to motivate you. On that note, I drove a new 911 turbo the other day & couldn't believe how quick it was.It comes on boost much quicker than the R34 & just pulls like a train from 2000 - 6000rpm.Very impessed. Pity they cost more than twice what a NEW VspecII R34 GTR would cost. Great to see so many tough R34s in UK.Cant wait to see more here. Do you guys drag your street cars over there? Skyline fan.

Big power skyline from UK joins your forum :)
Munro replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It's good to see UK members onboard.Welcome.Love your R34. I have a bayside blue R34 Vspec too.Mine is basically stock with 280rwkw & has run a 12.1 @ 115. M3s are great cars.Is yours SMG? What colour is it? Munro. -
G'day Kabab, I reckon the TE37 wheels look awesome.I have always wanted a set but they are so expensive new.I just found out about a 2nd hand set of 17x9s that JMS had, so I grabbed 'em & they are getting painted gold at the moment.(Going on the R33 with Nittos) The R34 GTR wheels do look good, but I wanted something different on my one, so I sold them(I know - silly.Should of kept em) I already had the 18x10 works wheels from the R33 & I think they suit the blue R34 really well. Most people seem to prefer the std wheels on it , but just about every magazine has a couple of ads with pictures of std R34 GTRs & I wanted something unique. Will be interesting to see what the R34 looks like with Gold TE37s on it.

I went past Viper the other day & he was closing down! Surely there are enough cars to choose from in Australia already. At least you can see them B4 you buy & know what you are getting. Danny's blue 180 sure looks cool now.

YEP, I count my blessings(& my car keys)everyday.Always saw heaps of guys cruising around in cool cars when I was young & thought " one day " I'll have tough cars. 15 years later & all of my dreams have come true(well automotive ones anyway). There are so many rumours flying around re the track I dont pay any attention anymore. All I know is that there IS a private T&T on the 14th.I hope the car is ready - but I'm not holding my breath. Munro.

R33 GTR rims are polished, but am waiting to see if I get my other rims back from the painters in time for the test & tune on the 14th.If I get them back soon I will fit the Nittos to them, & put the toyo RA1s back on the GTR rims for a street set. the other rims I am refering to are a 2nd hand set of 17x9 Rays TE37 rims.I am getting them painted gold like the ones on the top secret R34 on the 2nd GTR special cover.Cool looking rims & light too. Hopefully the car will be ready before the 14th, but not going to rush, I want to run in the new box & get used to the car again before full power run. Cheers.

Cool.Well done. Sounds like they are just what you needed. See you on the street.
