  1. FYI all - Just for the record and to clarify for anyone else asking the same question in the future - you do NOT need a VIC roads ceritificate if you will be bringing the car back and re registering in NSW. I have confirmed this with both - vic roads and the RTA.
  2. f*ck. looks like i've missed out thanks for letting me know Eugene, please let me know if you see anything else interesting pop up and i'll ask them to check it out!
  3. 1) i dont want to directly impact the chances of anyone selling their car, so i'll have to stay very light on the details with this one. anyway, my personal experience - this guy constantly lied through his teeth about the car just to get me to fly over to melbourne, and then turned into a complete 2 faced immature and arrogant c*nt when i told him politely that im not going to go through with buying it (even though i never actually made any promises to start with!) on a side note, it would be perfect if you're after a car which is 2 completely different shades of blue - front / back. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=125A907BF199 2) the second car i looked at was brandons car (he is also a fellow forum member) i passed this one up due to a few personal preferences with the paint, rims and missing diffuser - etc. nothing that cant be fixed. it runs really well, but its just not the one for me. anyone else shopping - brandons a top bloke, its worth taking a look. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...4&silo=1011 3) this one was absolutely immaculate! passed this one up because it was non vspec and its just another personal preference - its one of the things which would definately keep me up at night. other than that - anyone wanting a near mint example - the price is negotiable and its definately worth looking at. note - car is not the actual car in the pictures. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...4&silo=1011
  4. hey mate, no - they didnt tell me about that one. hopefully it was a non vspec? otherwise - it may have been the body kit that put them off. i told them straight off the bat - i definately want stock aesthetics if possible. i just got back to sydney tonight - have i missed anything else!?
  5. On a side note, one of the GTR's i took a look at today was absolutely beautiful - condition wise and mechnically. HOWEVER - the seller did not know it was a non vspec. SO - if any of you guys are hunting around for a non vspec bayside blue GTR - shoot me through a PM and i'll link you up with the seller. Cheers!
  6. Cheers Eugene - trip has been one big kick in the balls but i'll keep on searching - i'll know which one is 'the one' when i see it and it will just make delivery that much sweeter! Im sure Jayson as above knows how picky i am especially when it comes to my cars. THats one kick ass GTR you have there mate, we'll have to meet up again when you get the GTC's! Have you done any other work since you bought her? Anyway, on a brighter note - after missing out on the R34's - I just went nuts and indulged myself by jumping straight into the purchase of 4x R35 GTR's instead. I have attached a quick pic
  7. hey mate, cheers for the info! i just gave them a buzz, it is a non vspec i actually flew down to melbourne (im in a hotel room at present!) to take a look at one i saw on car sales. wasnt the one for me. took a look at two others, skipped both of them too. bit of a shame because i had plans ready to drive one back - booked a hotel for 3 days, money ready to finalise, paid for the VIC VIP reports on them - etc.. but yeah, if anyone knows of any others around here - please let me know and i'll check them out! anyway, hopefully garry finds something else soon! cheers all!
  8. ^ hey mate, yeah this is what i've decided to do cheers all for the advice!
  9. ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO Anyone still around!? LOL!
  10. Cheers Terry, thanks for the fast response and clarification! Any other known potential rust trouble spots that should be checked apart from around the spoiler base and around the windows? Thanks again mate!
  11. yep, cheers mate - thats all accurate! i got in touch with them tonight and made the booking. cheers all for your assistance!
  12. ^ how common is this rust around the boot brake light? is it something to worry about?
  13. ^ Really helpful, cheers mate I will call the RTA and VIC roads tomorrow to confirm (it appears they are closed on Sunday!) so just wanted to get some advice from you guys so i could start planning. Thanks again!
  14. Hi guys, Another quick question! Im looking at buying a car from VIC. As I will be driving the car back to NSW and having it re registered here, do I actually need to go forward with a VIC roadworthy certificate? All the documents I read state that I need a roadworthy certificate before purchasing, and its even listed on the transfer papers? However they all appear to be documents for victorian residents selling to other victorian residents.. Anyway - the seller advised that I only need a roadworthy certificate if i will be re registering it in victoria. Can anyone please clarify!? Cheers!
  15. Cheers for the info guys, from what I have read - it is the responsibility of the seller to provide the RWC upon sale. Just wanted to clarify and confirm so im 100% sure Thanks again!
  16. Hi all, I live in Sydney, however I am currently looking at buying a car from Melbourne. I just have a few questions about the transfer of registration - etc. I have found the relevant forms on the VIC roads website, however from what i can tell - it will not allow the standard transfer of registration to me because im not a Victorian resident and do not have a VIC licence, which is fair enough. Anyway - for those who have done it before - What is the correct process? Where do I pay stamp duty - etc, Victoria or Sydney? What steps do I need to take with VIC roads to advise of transfer to me? I don't want to cancel the registration because if I buy the car, I plan on driving it back to Sydney. Then when I'm in Sydney, when I renew the registration, will I still be able to hand the VIC plates in to the RTA and get a refund on the remaining VIC registration? Or do I need to post them back to VIC roads with a letter? Also, when re registrating the car in my name in Sydney, will the standard VIC roads registration transfer be enough? Or is any other information / receipts also required? I will give both, VIC roads and the RTA a buzz during the week to clarify a few things, but would prefer feedback from you guys out there that have actually gone through the process and know it well! Any advice or info would be appreciated Cheers!
  17. Cheers mate, will definately check them out! Any idea's how much they charge roughly? Its a Sunday so dont think i'll have any luck getting in touch with them today!? On a side note - I dont need a FULL mechanical inspection, I believe i'll be able to check it out and get a good / bad feeling about it pretty well on my own, mainly just need a workshop around the CBD to get it up on a hoist and clearly check the underbody with me for any damage, and also give the engine a quick once over. Any ideas for this?
  18. Hi guys, Can you please do me a favour and put this VIN through fast for me? BNR34006541 Thanks in advance
  19. Cheers dude I'll check them out! Any other suggestions aswell!?
  20. Hi all, I have tried searching the forums and im sure this has been covered before, so sorry if its a bit of a n00b question! Anyway, im currently looking at buying a car from Melbourne. Just looking for some clarification around the cost of a VIC Roadworthy Certificate? And in this instance, who would normally pay for it - the buyer or the seller? Im presuming its normally the responsibility of the seller to provide the certificate anyway when selling. Never bought a car from Melbourne before, so just want to know what to expect The VIC roads site states that it varies per car, however looking for an average. Have read around the place that its normally around $70, however in this thread i've found through google is states its gone up to $230?? http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=319057 Any info would be appreciated. Cheers!
