does anyone know where to get sandwich plates in Perth? ive used the search function but to no avail.

9k is too much for that amount of damage. one of the guys at works got an R32 GTS4 with an RB26DETT inside in pretty good condition and he got it for $9500. my suggestion is to keep looking around and you'll eventually find the one you want at the right price which you will cuz R32s are soooo cheap now. as for the performance figures, the extra weight of the 4wd system will lump the performance especially in a straight line because the rb20 doesnt have much torque (a dead stock r32 gts4 only managed 0-100 in 7 secs) but a little mods can fix that.

FK YEAHHH!!!! at least we dont have to pay 3k for the f**kin test next time
-
its what i like to call driving around the right place or the wrong place at the wrong time. maybe we should have a Sticky:what-have-you-been-canaried-for thread
-
gee finally they've realised the error of their ways. good news indeed. the test might come back but at least it will be better than when they started then.

dont see how can you compare these 2 cars cuz ones a coupe and ones a 4dr auto. my opinion, it comes to what you want really. problem with the auto R34 is that you cant fit that everyones fav Apexi Power FC due to the shiftlogic transmition, which is connected and controlled by the factory ecu. so pretty much unless you want to keep the car standard or maybe some minor mods and use it as a daily driver, the R34 4dr auto is a practical car. but if you want a coupe with a manual gearbox which everyone will probably have instead unless they only have an automatic licence, the R33 coupe manual is best for tuning but can still remain practical if you do sleeper mods (seeing as how the government and some of the public love to bitch about Fast-and-Furious styled cars these days).

so it makes no difference whether you have an aftermarket exhaust system or not: without the 'special' cat it wont pass pretty much. tho if you send your car to Kostecki's for tuning, cant they tune it to meet your car's emmisions of its day even with an aftermarket cat fitted? and btw, has anyone here actually had this test done on their cars??
-
ok cheers. ill keep in contact with you as well.

damn !!! i just got the same problem with mine today. i can only hear it at 70-80kmh, cant hear it when accelerating out of 1st gear and car feels weird as well and it constantly whines when i got up to freeway speeds. my car only has an intercooler, exhaust and air filter done and the boost is untouched, still with the stock ecu. previously it made signs like it whistles when im on 2400rpm and when i accelerate, it dissapears. looks like its finally decide to give up. can a highflow turbo or any similar turbos be safely run with the factory ecu and boost controller still in place?
-
you will get a slight boost increase due to the larger volume. skylines are tuned rich from factory so if it detects more air, the ecu will put more fuel and run a little richer but no dramas. tho with an aftermarket ecu, you can even out the mixture and get a little more power.
-
ive been told that you only need an emissions test only if the cops think you need one( ie. they see black smoke coming out of your exhaust or black stains on the rear bumper for light coloured cars, not idling properly at the lights). if you didnt get asked to do it but got stickered for something else and you go over the pits, they wont do the test.

them genuine parts arent cheap alright. fuel sender units in the cover beside the battery. you can get access to it from there.
-
if your unsure, get a memory minder. plug it into your cigarette lighter, connect the connectors to another battery and it will keep all settings the same and saves you having to set any electronic part all ovr again( not saying it could involve ecus but radio codes, shift light settings, etc)
-
gee wonder what happens when it goes out of warranty...

RRP is $162.43. part number is NI-21010-21U26 from Northside Nissan. our Parts guy Steve Barnes is the best
-
when my mates need help with buying a car and test driving, i usually rock up in my Nissan uniform so the seller cant fool us lol.
-
if the coilpack change and plugs didnt solve the problem, check the coilpack harness cause the wiring will start to fail after being exposed to 15-18 years of engine bay heat and check the igniter module as well. if you want i can get prices for you from our parts guy.

there was a black one tuned at Tenagah before and made 321 HP at all fours. tho they did say it takes awhile to get that result. it is a nice looking car but it understeers heavily and from what i heard, likes to eat up the brakes as well. as for gearbox, Mitsubishis always have issues with them for some reason not just the 3000GT. tuning them is like tuning a Honda which is difficult due to the fact they are tuned well from factory and MIVEC, just like V-TEC, doesnt make things easy with tuning either but there are plenty modified in the USA so its still possible.

wgmg, roaches!! spotted a little f**k on my grille and before i could knock it off it went inside the engine bay. was chasing the bugger all round the engine bay and finally dissapeared somewhere near the radiator and aircon condenser. it better get out of the car or ill fry the little bugger with engine heat when driving tomorrow morning!! f**kin cockroaches!!

steering work as well. in the wet, if you turn your steering wheel too hard or like turning it too quickly going into a corner, your car will either understeer or oversteer (depends on how fast your going) also if you are in the middle of the corner and you suddenly jerk the wheel hard to either direction like say going into an 'S' corner, you can loose traction as well. the key is to be smooth with the steering work as possible. my car looses traction when it hits boost and thats with pretty much new Bridgestone Potenza RE001 tyres(255/40/17 rears), soft setting on the rear dampers and stock boost :S but thats only if i press the pedal halfway or more. no problems when taking off the lights tho.

yep that was the one that came in. unfortunately its not open for a test drive to the public because its only a demonstration model to test our GTR hoist and for the staff to have a look and ride in it. its gone back to Victoria now but when the other 30 comes in, we might put 1 aside for customers to test drive.
-
cars gone back to Victoria now but the 30 orders are going to be here soon. supposingly they are on the boat now.
-
they are pretty quick ay? all of us at Northside Nissan had a ride in it when it came to the workshop from Victoria. the braking Gs are stronger than acceleration Gs and even the acceleration is strong enough to force you into your seat. back seats just enough to fit me and im quite short but its quite a nice ride.

Os Giken Triple Plate Clutch
R33_NICK replied to GOT GAME's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
heel and toe on downshifts: helps stopping compression lock when your releasing the clutch quickly. my mates R34s got a Tripple plate clutch as well and damn its difficult when your stuck in traffic but i love it especially once you get it going and shifting. what about a Nismo slave cylinder upgrade? apparently i heard that this will make the car easier to drive when you have a multi-plate clutch?? -
some more pictures not necessary bigger but clearer this time. had to destroy my plastic surround to clear my lens if you collect issues of MOTOR magazine, this is the car thats featured in there;check the plates, plus its only 2 seconds slower than a V8-so called- supercar around a track(not joking). the cars actually shipped here not driven. its a demonstration model so its been used to train people to drive them in Victoria, which explains the tyre wear the cars getting unveiled at the showroom tonight. it will remain there tomorrow so anyone can have a look.
