  1. Love the Headlights Sam..& Black is definitely hot..That & my Lakeshore Blue are my favourites in the V35. Still get comments from people nearly 5 years later. Another Silver V35 at Gladesville a few weeks back fell in love with the colour at the lights at night.

  2. Very nice James. I see you got the parking sensors also. Mine was made 11/2005 so got lucky and have the same wheels, premium interior, fujitsubu exhaust- flatter end pipes, impul chip, impul lip spoiler. Of course It missed out on the projector headlights and diff tail lights.have had it five years - you will love it for a while yet !

  3. Yeh sounds like you have a short somewhere in the wiring. Replaced the Parking lights, Interior -headlining and door lights, boot and number plates also.

Just need to buy the clear indicator lense now. (had the car 4&1/2 years and just woke up to it now ! lol)

Anyone recommend somewhere in Sydney that sell them ??

I will post some pics when I do these.

Fitted the clear indicator lense only 11bucks from EBAYin th US

35bucksdelivery still cheap. Four interior leds , two no.plate, two parkers, and boot led were less than 100bucks from jaycar &v supercheap.

Pics don't do them justice, def nice upgrade & piece of loss to do. Except parking lights_very tight access and very fiddle.

  5. Hey Goodys, nice ride. Yeah ! Mine developed a ever so small "clicking" at around 60,000klms. Its so faint that even my mechanic cant work out where its from. I m pretty sure its a cv joint to the diff. I notice it when I first take off (sometimes 2nd gear), but definitely when you reverse then go forward. If it gets louder I will investigate further , but too minor to worry about now.

As for lights- the only issue with all skylines Ive had is the front passenger side parking buld. Usually just give it a bump & its good !

I just changed to LED'S as well as interior & wow thats good bang for the bucks!

  6. Neat tip Paul, Sounds like Mick could use it.

Mick 400k on 55 litres of the wrong fuels is ok. Just hope no long term damage to the engine. Did ya notice any pinging from the engine?. Just check when your low fuel warning light comes on after the next few fills.

Once you get used to the trip computer you tell exactly how to much fuel needed to fill each time. I get it right to the nearest 1/2 to 1L.

Its not just a mileage thing you will notice How the car revs more easily from low speed all the way through rev range. It aint heaps but once you ve been driving it a while.

  7. Itried 98 for a few months in my 350GT 6sp and also in my wife's J31 CVT Maxima(which also runs a VQ35DE), and saw no difference in economy, and no discernibleperformance improvement. Technically, there is no reason a stock NA enginetuned only for 95 should see an improvement or benefit from a higher octanefuel, regardless of VVT/VCT or not.

Some fuel companies may put extra cleaning agents in their 98 fuel, which maybe helpful.

However, many people claim to have noticed differences with 98, so it might beworth a try to see what you find.

Technically there is a reason why there is a diff. 3/95th to be precise or 3.166%. Your right in that its not discernable to many. Its about 20klms per tank. In terms of performance its a similar story. However ECU's drive engine performance based on fuel air mix sensors and if the octane is higher then it will make a difference dependant on the ecu & the engine.

NA motors and ECU like in Ferrari are a perfect example. Ferrari didnt inveet 100 million dollars in the development of Vpower for nothing.

  8. Mick, cleaner wont do much. If I were you try to get 20 litres of 98 octane in asap. It will balance it out a little. As the handbook says use min of 95 octane. There is a slight improvement in economy on 98 and an improvement in mid range torque. I used 100 oct(shell) years back with my r33 gts t & unbelievable bottom end torque..Any car that has variable camshaft timing will see an improvement in performance/mileage. I only use 98 it looks after the engine on the long runm

  9. Hi Everyone

    Just picked up my 03 V35 350GT.

    Love the car so far.

Just filled her up after getting about 380kms from a full tank. Is that normal for these cars?

It doesn't really surprise me, I used to drive a 3L 2JZ soarer and only got about 400kms from a full tank.

Anyway, i hope to learn a lot about this great car from the people on this forum.

    Thanks

Hi Mick, congrats on your new car.

Check carefully what you filled to get 380klms ! . The car has an 80ltr tank. Im thinking you filled 50 litres or perhaps you only ran regular unleaded ??- not good- they need min 95 oct or higher. I only fill 98. On good run city running (syd) I get 550 to 600klm on a 70 litre fill or 8 to 8.5 klm/L.. The very worst even with lead foot all week is 500 on 70 litres. ( I hate that litres per 100 klms makes no sense to me especially when trip computer is in klms/L!).The light comes on at around 15L to go.

I managed 12.5k/L on the open road which would just about do Syd - Mel with a little city driving. Mines an "05, 6man coupe. I hope you misread your fill .Goodluck with the new beast!

  11. Good day Ronan, I can see you are a man of good taste having a stang. My bro had a '69 fastback. Good move to what I reckon style wise is a modern mustang. The only advise I would suggest for a grey import is to try to get one thats not modified. That way you know what you are getting and can get alot of info here. & obviously you can mod your own way later. All the best, look forward to seeing some nice pics.

  12. Congratulations Dan.! Late 2005 Coupe lakeshore blue-is it manaul or auto ??. I got the Impul lip spoiler. Good luck with the compliance, looks like you have modified exhaust (as many do). Just fiddley cause they have to remove put standard one then put it back on. Wonder if you got chipped ecu also?8. You wont be able to wipe the grin off your face first few weeks! Welcome to the V's
