  1. can i have your diff when you get a new one? try www.pp-oz.com for good second hand parts, tell Thuy that SKY_VIA from NS.com sent you
  2. i would definatelly have an auto for town driver, i get sick of changing gears through traffic... dunno about the 4 speed R33 box, but they say the R34 tiptronic leaves alot to be desired. You can drift an auto reasonably well if you are able to lock it in second, however the oil gets very hot and can kill the box... if you were to drift an auto i would be fitting a decent oil cooler
  3. Good thoughts Ed, think ive seen your car around. My proposed idea for Bass Hwy Between Launceston and Burnie and Midlands Hwy Between Launceston and Hobart is this. Split dual carriageway with an island inbetween (so two lanes going each way the WHOLE way) this island should have either bush or some sort of screen heigh enough to block the headlights of oncoming traffic. The speed limit would be RAISED to something more like 140km/h. On approach to the few town you got to slow down for (eg Campbell Town, Cleavland, Brighton, Elizabeth Town, Epping Forest etc) drop the speed limits on the outskirts of the towns to say 100/80/60 (whatever) if the lanes merge back together so be it. Have a speed fixed speed camera at the lowest speed limit signed through the town (so basically if your stupid enough to speed through there you shouldn't have a licence anyway). also have +- 20km/h allowance on the open road to allow for overtaking. IMHO i can't see anyone speeding anymore cos they are going at a more comfortable speed, less prone to tiring and lowers the chance of head ons substantially. I know this is a big ask by the government but i mean they spend enough on Football Stadiums, Correctional Facilitys, Boats which bring tourists over here etc if you understand what i am getting at i would love to hear comments
  4. yeh totally my relatives over their said everyone cruises at 200+ km/h and its happy sailing
  5. ah good... yeh it was a 30psi boost gauge and it was reading like 40 or more, checked it again to see if the guage was faulty and yeh not cool killed the turbo and motor.
  6. S15 spec R 422rwkw all original components fav track Autumn Ring (full). even got the Chev Silverado SSR concept setup drifting very good, didn't really touch the settings
  7. your best bet would be to look in the forsale section on nissansilvia.com
  8. on the boost thing, it could possibly be the diaphram in the wastegate is faulty??? that caused a mate of mines rotor to eventually see his boost guage off the scale and pop the motor
  9. Yes thats what i mean, also in america if all the traffic is travelling at a similar/same speed limit over the speed limit you aren't classed as speeding as the whole traffic is flowing at the same rate. i get so bored doing 110 to hobart imagine if it was lower than that!!! all the recent accidents are not due to speed IMHO its all due to inattentive driving.
  10. wow the way you were talkin when you said u were gettin a car i thought you were gettin a stock car, impressive to say the least!
  11. ive seen driving instructs and even chief of RACT say its a stupid idea.. i reckon it would mean more road fatalitys. what pisses you off the most, someone overtaking you or getting stuck behind a car doing 90 in a 110 zone?
  12. wow, ive seen a few done like that and it isn't an easy task... no doubt he will make easy work of it
  13. t01-100: what do you know about the bluebird Jason White is taking in the Fulllock drift day?? im a bit of a bluebird fan and was curious as to what he may be using to power it and his suspension setup
  14. dunno how good it would be with the 'AWESOME' 95RON fuel we get in launceston, Phat_R33 has a Mines ECU and that runs really rich timing is different and chews plugs regularly. check the timing and listen for detonation, i have a feeling that these 'rechipped' ecus would not retard timing if it senses a knock.
  15. Like it says what am i able to do with the factory knock sensors, i am running a Microtech LT-8 ecu which doesn't have provisions for them. Is there a little box of tricks i can use these with to give me a warning??? even if its just a simple flashing led cheers Tim,
  16. when is it??
  17. Ok found some info on the car The details are as follows: • This car is (or was) the primary demo car for Yanack Racing in Japan • Travelled an elapsed 77K klms since manufacture, it has travelled less than 8K klms since an extensive and meticulous rebuild at huge cost to the former owners. • HKS 2. 7L stroker (8000Km), • Trust TD07 turbine (1000Km), • HKS F-Con V professional,ORC twin plate clutch (1000Km), • OS Giken fast cross transmission (1000Km) • Tomei 2-way diff, • Brand new YANACK Racing widebody styling and GT wing ( bodykit worth $10K by itself), • 7 point roll bar, • TRUST Oil Cooler ( new), • HKS boost gage, oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, fuel pressure indicator and exhaust gas temperature indicator, • oil catch tank, • Yanack recently spent almost $70K AUD modifying & tuning this car, not including the costs of cosmetics. • Car is suggested to be close to 600BHP ( 335rwKw) at 1.6bar, but this will be confirmed when dynoed upon landing.
