    I heard the reason it was sold was the engine was screwed, did they replace the motor, or did you? i heard it went cheap like in between $10-15K. can't say i rate either of the wings that were on that car, but they were different

  3. yeh if its a genuine one from flying performance then they are worth getting, the new GT spec ones are good too
  4. so question is then, leave it in place or remove it? im not so sure that they come with a fitting to mount straight on the block thats what i am concerned about. I was going to get the optional Thermostat with the earl's kit as ive had this guy in my ear about having a stat, but now from what you say maybe i don't??? i dunno, temp's aren't that much cooler down here in the winter !!

  6. Im about to buy an Earl's Remote Oil Filter/Cooler setup and i was wondering, can i get rid of the water cooled oil cooler located on the block? it would just mean 2 less water lines that i have to replace, and leave a bit more space under there (i am limited with space for anything as it is).

  9. I can tell you this from my very basic knowledge it has 10.5mm holes in the rail and does not look to be hose feed or anything. the plenum fits 'normal' injectors as the std fit in with the o ring collar thingys off the std manifold/plenum i am told.
  10. I purchased one of these through Nengun and it arrived last week. On inspection it appears that the fuel rail is a top feed unit, but it is the right one. I was going to upgrade my injectors anyway, but im lucky i didn't go out and get some side feeds. so i am curious... what top feed injectors would i use?? just something to suit RB26???

If anyone is interested I have everything you need to do this swap Off an RB25DET Exhaust manifold Turbo (No play) Oil/Water lines std dump pipe Inlet manifold/Plenum Fuel Rail and injectors If anyone is interested in these PM me and i can send you pics reason why i am getting rid of them, upgraded to GReddy plenum and getting top mount turbo setup
  12. I have seen heaps of N/A engines turboed and running 12psi or so and pulling some good figures.

  14. hmm still confused but i think i have got it now after studying what sydneykid said and MonstaS4's reply. Sydneykid when you said you overlayed the two graphs with the vct off on one and on at idle on the other and marked the cross over point i am guessing this point is where it is turned off? my tuner is getting interested in it all and is pushing me along to get the engine running so he can play with it.
  15. hmm confusing none the less.. but interesting discussion all the same. so what your saying now sydneykid in basic terms is at the 4700rpm point, the ecu is allowing it to complete the circuit and switch the solinoid 'On' and 'advance the camshaft timing'???

  19. yeh i am just figureing out how to connect this up to my microtech, something like it switches on at 1800rpm, and switches off at 3500rpm... get my tuner to sort that out though

  21. I ordered and paid for a greddy plenum and rail tuesday last week and he replied back straight away saying he had rec'd the money and was processing. I have sent him a msg on the website asking when it was gonna get sent and haven't got a reply in like 5 days. I know he isn't supposed to be dodgy, but i have sent $1600 to him and he hasn't even let me know if there is a delay or anything. I can't afford to put money like that down the drain
  22. Getting up to that stage with my engine build and we are wondering what stronger head bolts are out there, i have heard ARP don't make em for RB25?? If i can use something better than std Nissan ones i will.
  23. yeh my metal head gasket has an interesting concept, i am unsure of the brand, but my mechanic said its good, may need a bit of hylomar to seal in a few places near water jackets
  24. IMHO brand name zorst's are no biggy, just get a place to do it and put nice mandrel bends in and it should be fine. does whitey actually sell anything he makes?? i reckon his brake calipers are a work of art!!!!
  25. My brother is Jamie? I am not aiming for any particular power figure atm, for the time being once back together it should pull over 200rwkw with the std turbo. In about 6 months i should have a top mounted GT30, i know these are good for ~320rwkw at 1.4bar boost on a stocko motor on pump fuel. So thats heaps of power for me, not to mention this turbo is really good off boost which is good cos it will be a daily driver. will run down the strip with the std turbo to get a figure, then run again after new turbo, injectors etc and brad tune!
