  1. nah dude, i was referring to the VL days on the streets of thomastown/lalor/epping, etc, not the touring cars. also, it was the sierras and everyone else at one stage.
  2. dude, there definitely were with plenty of action, but they must've been the days when u were still playing with crayons ;-)
  3. there are way too many skylines in thomastown/lalor/epping these days, but not enough action any more. aahhhh, where have the VL days gone???
  4. VSpec, what exhaust housing are you using? also, how driveable/responsive is the turbo? Sydneykid, how extreme do u think the 600hp GT30 (with A/R .63 exhaust housing) would be on a cossie YB 2L? ;-)
  5. Hi all, again, a friend of mine has the following items for sale; * 2 x GTR turbos (from R32) which have been hi-flowed with the largest fitting comp. & steel turbine wheels in the standard housings inc. dump pipes. They are equivalent to the Grp A N1 turbos. Reco & hi-fow done 6 months ago with 360 degree competition thrust bearings. * 2 x 2.5" aftermarket down pipes * 1 x 3.5" -> 4" Plasma cat back exhaust to suit R32 GTR. fyi, with these turbos, friend's car has made 218rwkw on 12psi, so there's plenty more in them. They are a great combination turbo for a genuine fast street GTR. Reason for selling is he wants to upgrade to larger HKS/Garrett ball-bearing units. Price : $1600 for turbos only or $2000 for the lot please reply here or PM me if interested. items are in melbourne.
  6. hi all, a friend of mine has for sale the following items; * Link ECU (limited use) * complete wiring loom to suit VL turbo (RB30ET) * brand new h/controller Price : $1100 please reply here or PM me if interested. items are in Melbourne.
  7. what AFRs are u running now on 15psi?? if it is running richer than what it was before, that would explain why you're down on power 'cos the leaner u run the engine, the more power u can make but at the expense of reliability. Also, as sydneykid would say, it's not about the peak hp, it's about the power under the curve (average power). all in all, it's a good effort dude, happy driving.
  8. summoner, it would depend on which GT30 core it is and what A/R exhaust housing he is using.

  10. FAST31, fyi, the standard GT3037 turbo's from HKS come with a GT25 flange which will not suit your factory RB25 exhaust manifold, unless you are getting the GT3037 Pro S which comes with a T03 flange.
  11. Hi all, a friend of mine is selling a intake manifold with a modified/aftermarket plenum chamber for a RB30ET. this is to suit big hp (drag) applications. Price : $700. please reply here if interested and i can organise some pics for you.
  12. Joel, given your latest revelation, i'd say that your coolant temp sensor is stuffed. I had a similar problem with my old VL where it would run very fuelly and require more acceleration than normal to cruise along. if this is the case, basically, the engine's ECU always thinks that the engine is cold (due to in-op coolant temp sensor) and always pumps in extra fuel as it does on cold start so i'd recommend u replace it or check the loom connector. the turbo coming on boost quick is due to extra load b/c the engine is running very fuelly and dragging the engine's power.
  13. B-man, fyi, the two turbos which GCG list as "GSB8005A" & "GSB8006" are actually two totally different turbo cores as per Ray Hall's website. the specs are as follows; i) GT30 (GSB8005A - 700177-0011) : Rated at 475hp * A/R 0.70 comp housing * 52 trim compressor wheel (TO4S - 2.17"/3.00") * 50 lbs/min max. comp flow * A/R 0.82 exhaust housing * 90 trim exhaust wheel (2.11"/2.22") ii) GT30 (GSB8006 - 700177-0014) : Rated at 600hp * A/R 0.70 comp housing * 64 trim compressor wheel (GT40 - 2.41"/3.22") * 65 lbs/min max. comp flow * A/R 1.06 exhaust housing * 84 trim exhaust wheel (2.16"/2.36") the 2nd unit would be what is considered the Garrett GT3040 as it uses the 64 trim compressor wheel from the GT40 family along with the A/R 1.06 exhaust housing to allow for great air/gas flow. Any smaller exhaust housing would make it more streetable although max power would be limited due to exhaust flow restriction with the smaller housing. cheers.
  14. you might want to have a look at this before speaking to GCG. http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2/cat...ategory26_1.htm
  15. INASNT, JMS is selling it $2500 and apparently it's in excellent condition. not sure which exhaust housing it has.
  16. Shouldn't this thread be in the : For Sale (Whole Cars Only) section ??
  17. bbenny, i got some greddy gauges through greenline and the service was good and prompt. basically, i'd deal with them again.
  18. TRD, where r u in Vic??
  19. i didn't get your pics. can u send them again?
  20. is this the genuine hks gt2835??
  21. EVOIV/Steve, if i buy this turbo with a 1.01 housing, r u guys up for an exhaust housing swap?
  22. P.E.T Mods - thomastown 9464-4225
  23. i might be lining up a buy off a friend for a GT3037 with a 1.01 exhaust housing, so if i get it, i'll swap ya no probs yeah, if this works out and i sell my current turbo, i'm ready to move into the ball-bearing world
  24. i'll be keen to do a swap EVOIV
  25. RNS11Z, the above doesn't make sense to me in that u had to run more boost b/c of your fuel problem. i hope your tuner didn't tune your engine by retarding the ignition timing and winding the boost up as to get power without detonation. If so, you are definitely not allowing the engine to run efficiently and make the power it should on lower boost, so i'd look at getting the engine tuned again with more timing and lower boost as to suit the amount of fuel that your injectors/pump will flow.
