  7. Hi Danielle, My r33 temp gauge sits just under (bee's dick) halfway at operating temp. The thermostate regulates the temp of the coolent in the system. I would remove the thermostate and test it, to be on the safe side. it sound like the thermostate has been sticking open at times before the water pump was done. My fan has a couple of cracks in it as well, thats just from age. If they are really bad replace the fan. I have worked on many nissan vehciles over the years and i've found the temp gauges on various models to site about halfway or slightly under at operating temp. Regards Clynton
  8. Hi Scooby, I'm looking for a power fc boost control kit for my car. What is your reason for sale. Can you tell me what in the box. Cheers Clynton
  9. I have seen this on all nissan vehicles that have a bit of age. It's must be from heat and stress they are only plastic , my car is the same and the vl i had many years ago was the same. Cheers Clynton
  10. Hi George, What condition is the radiator in. if the radiator has not been cleaned out or replaced over the years the cooling tubes in the radiator become blocked causing low flow inside the radiator. The radiator acts like a filter for the cooling system. Also check the front of the car where the air goes in, between the a/c condensor and the radiator for obstructions. If the temp is getting that high the viscous fan should cut in. The amount of air flow going through the radiator at highway speeds is quite a fair bit, but if there is a blockage internally or externaly is system won't be able to cope. i would get the cooling system checked by a mechanic or a cooling specialist. Regards Clynton
  11. Hi, I'm looking for a good power fc + hand controller for my r33 gtr. I'm located on brisbanes northside. How flexable are you on the price for cash!. Regards Clynton

  15. Dany, There is two sides to the ignition switch the mechanical side ( the barrel where the key goes in ) and the electrical side ( at the back of barrel ). I would remove the ignition surround trim and check the wires at the back of the ignition barrel also while the car is running is to do a riggle test on the wires ( riggle the wires ) from the ignition. The mechanic is right it could be a hundred diffrent things, it does take some time to go through and check the circuit. The simple way to check the charge rate of the alternator is to use a multimeter positive lead to positive of the battery terminal and negative lead to a good earth point. Have the engine running , set the multimeter to direct voltage (dc) a good charge rate should be between 13.80v - 14.20v. Hope i have been of assistance 76GTR
  16. Hi, just had another thought, is the vehicle equiped with a turbo timer. Regards 76GTR
  17. Hi guys, I've just got myself a R33 GTR, abosolutly love the car. Does anyone know or have some info on checking the ignition timing. The vehicle is standard and the ecu is standard. Any info or where to buy a manual would be greatful. Regards Clynton
  18. Hi, I would go back to basics and check battery terminals, battery cables and earth terminals and cables for looseness. I would load test the battery and check the charge rate from the alternator. Also i would be checking the ignition switch it sounds like the ignition switch could be open circuiting. Hope i have been of assistance 76GTR
