ey this is my car but i thought since im in Vic i would post it up in this thread. Whilst on here does anyone know what kind of front bumper mine is?? ive never seen it befor and really would like to know what kind it is. Hope you all like it and can give me some infor on the type of bumper it is.
  3. agree with everything you say, as yes sail panel is a cheap and easy option thats the reason i offered that location for the people out there who dont want to spend lots of money geting custom made a piller mounts or things like that. bluetacking is a very good option aswell. all in all i am really just agreeing with everthing you say. but like you said adding mt 2 cents
  4. wouldnt really recomend putting them in the kick panels, tweeters are great for raising the sound stage and lifting the whole sound up of the floor, to put them in the kick panel would sort of defeat that purpose. A piller is a very popular place to mount then or the door sail (the little pannel that covers the bolts for you rear view side mirror's). either of those are good locations. the sail is the best as it is one of the cheaper parts to replace. i myself have actually just wedged them between the window and the dashboard. sounds dodgy but no holes or anything cut into any panels and they look mint. and untill i have money to make custom moulds on a pillers thats were there staying.
  5. as topic states. want a black rear bumper for R33 S2. THANKS
  6. I use to install these alarms and from what i know it has to be wired to a certain immobilisation circuit (Circuit 1) on the alarm for it to work and also needs a Read the instruction manual http://mongoose.com.au/media/168798/M80series2009.pdf for more information... Where abouts are you located i might be able to help you fix it CHEAP if your in melbourne as i use to install around 1 of these alarms a week when i worked in car audio just pm me your information
  7. is that $2500 just for speakers headunit and install?? if it is i recomend picking up a nice set of Boston Pro60's for the front setting back around $1000 if you pay full retail, leave the rears out like -Stokesy- said, go a CDA-9887 H/U from alpine (best sounds quality h/u out there for $700 Retail and then invest in some dynamat for you front doors and boot if you have the cash setting you back around $350 for a bulk pack which will do the front doors rear parcleshelf and your boot lid with a little bit possible left over, and for a sub depending on what you listen to i would sugest a Rockford Fosgate P3 12" for good clean tight SQ Bass setting you back around the $400 mark, all up thats $2450 retail for all the gear (install on it all would probs come to around $500-$600 including the install of dynamat. in saying that if you want to get the price down haggle for a price on everything if you buy it all from the one shop,if you haggle from the one shop you could probs get the speakers down to $900,H/U down to $600,Sub down to $350 and Dynamat down to $280 taking it to $2120 which is a fair bit cheaper or you could step down to SL60's in bostons which are only $599 and could probs get them at $500 so that would then take it down to $1620. but you lose a fair bit of midbass with them over the Pro's aswell as SQ on the Highend notes. Where are you located???
  8. i havnt delt much with the m60's but if you goto www.mongoose.com.au it will give you all the info on them and functions they do and do not do. from memory i think the m60 only has 2 points of immobilisation were the m80 has 3.
  9. Mongoose M80 are really good alarms i have one in my R33 Installed myself and i have a window lift modual and added on to it and a pager module added onto it aswell and never had any problems, the New ones now come with turbo timer built into it so that saves you some cash on haveing to by an aftermarket turbo timer, and as for remote start its not really recomended cause they an cause all kinda of problems with you insurence and saftey i have heard some story's of people getting hit by a car that has remote start in it. But deffiently look into a Mongoose M80-au or the M80-MU (i think its mu its the one with microwave sensors in it), if you get it with window lift module you will probs be looking at the $700 Fitted mark as the alarm itself comes in at about $599 fitted with the window module at around $100 addon and and thigns like that
  10. why are you using the positive of your park lights and indicators at the same time if you using a dual filament globe?? there should be two seperative positives hence why its a dual filament light
  11. for an aftermarket amp your going to be best of running a power cable straight from the battery with a fuse inline, if you take power from anyother wire you can cause serious damage to the car electronics (blow fuses's constently, burn out wiring and so on and so on) run a new power wire at 8ga minimum and you will get alot better performance out of the amp and less chance of doig serious damage to you car. also make sure you give the amp its own earth straight to the body of the car with the same gauge wiring you used for you power cable
  12. XxNinjaxX thats looks pretty sweet, i think i will do it to my car, question though have you ever been pulled up by cops for them being like that and them say its not legal or anything?
  13. yeh R33 are pretty simple ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...li-t164820.html ) Thats a topic that has step by step instructions, read through that and see how u go, GOOD LUCK!!!
  14. i would be able to figure out a wiring diagram for it if i sat down and thought about it, but the main thing is that your indicator light has to be orange by law (i think you will have to look into it) and in terms of making it blink at a normal rate instead of 3 times a second, im taking it now that you have dissconected you front indecator its started to flash faster, well if you hook it back up you will find that they should blink at a normal rate, its like there is one missing so the flasher is getting more power therefor flashing faster. Check the laws on what colour indecators have to be but like i said pretty sure they have to be orange, and whilst your doing that i will have a sit down tomorrow and try and work out a wiring diagram for you if you like
  15. you can easily fit the SPR-17S in the front of the R33 GTST, you do have to make a custom spacer though out of probly 18mm MDF as from memory you wont be able to fit the SPR-17S into the factory spacer.
  16. speakers could be damaged and only be noticable at high volume, pull the parcel shelf out and have a look at the speaker cone and surrond and make sure that its not damaged or anything like that, to pull the parcel shelf out is pretty simple theres 2 bolts on the back seats one each side there 12mm, take these bolts out then push in at the bottom of the seat each side then pull up and it should pop up, make sure you do that to both sides, once you pull the bottom of the seats out there is two bolts on either side of the back seats down in the bottom corners, take these out then push the whole back seat up and forward they should realese of hooks and come out easyly, then the back parcle shelf will have a few clips that will just pop up with some gentle pulling up (make sure u locate the clip then pull up in the clip area otherwise you can snap the parcel shelf in all different sections) then pull it towards you and you can then see the speakers/check there not damaged and all that. i might not have explained it easly but once you find the bolts and things its quite simple. if your not confident enough doing it take it to a shop and ask them to do it, they will probs only charge like $40 or $50 but would reckomend you give it a go urself and save urself some cash, if you get stuck you can pm me and i will try and take some picks to send you if u want to help.
  17. i would recommend a mongoose M80 alarm, there cheap and like the vipers one of the best out there, they can have all the bells and whistles attached to it or can be bought in packs with all the extra's the best ones to look at are the M80-AU and the M80-MW (think its MW cant remember right now) but either one of them are really good alarms, www.mongoose.com.au will give you all the info on them and things they can and cannot do but they start around the $599 mark fitted, depending on the car you might need an actuator put in the drivers door you look at about $75 for one installed.
  18. jaycar prices are definetly good for the fact that the gear is pretty cheap crap (to be honest) i would recomend more likely to go something like some clarion or pionner speakers or sumthing if u want sumthing cheap and allright quality, but if u want something decent u can pick up a nice set of boston speakers (BOSTON being speaker speciallist) for about $250 for a set of splits and they will be better quality (sound and build) then the jaycar equipment. but thats just my 2 cents.
  19. by law that wire has to be connected to the handbreak if you get pulled up by police then can ask u to prove it and if its not connect can fine you, yes u can bypass it by just grounding the wire to any ground and even put a switch in there but like i said it is by law. just my 2 cents, i know if i had a dvd player i would bypass it and put a switch in.
  20. there should be to white ones and to red ones, one white and red will be joined and the other white and red will be joined, the easyest way to figure out which is which is fade your h/u to the front then plug one of the rca's into ch1 of the amp and if audio comes out of the front speakers then that white and red rca lead will be your front 2 (WHITE IS LEFT RED IS RIGHT SIDE) plug them as CH1 front left so WHITE CH2 front right so RED Ch3 rear left so WHITE Ch4 rear right so RED. once there all pluged in go through your h/d and just fade it to the front left then front right then rear right then rear left and if there all right your done.
  21. I went JUSTCAR found them to be the cheapest and most competative. i 19 clean driving record non turbo R33 S2 and for full comp car valued at 13350 with rims system body kit and all basic extra's i payed $2300 on a RATEING 5 which saved me about $600 and i also choosed they pay more to get less premium which saves me 500 on my premium for only $200 or sumthing like that. but i called shannons and they said that they wouldnt insure me and that if they did my excess would be like $5000 and thats the same with RACV which was $5000 excess and valued at $4500 for the car which is way less then what its worth. so yeh my 2 cents is JUSTCAR all the way
  22. all pioints taken abored and i did notice that you did say it was first time and your own car and everything. i was just anoyed by the way you went about saying Quote : i must say dont listen to nobs that are "in the industry" and think that you should just part with your money yes you didnt call anyone a noob but a nob instead which is samne thing in my books. i will be helping more then just one person on here and i dont think that because i feel fully justified in knowing that i have helped one person out mean i wont help more. f). I feel that if someone takes on the job when they shouldn't have they should face the consequences of paying someone to fix their mistakes. this is true but unfortunetly there are to many people that do take on the job even when they shouldnt have and they end up paying someone elsee to fix their mistakes when they could have just payed that price in the first place, saved their own time and energy and not made an abonisment of there cars wiring, i would like to save them the hassel. would say more about it but dont have time. good luck with ur next alarm install if you ever have to do one, if you want pm me with ur info about the car and i will send you some info on wireing and stuff for it
