  1. ey what suburb? im in the south east and i can install it for you, use to work in car audio (stylyn car audio) shoot me a pm with what alarm u have and i will get back to you
  2. there is a quick way to enable bypassing of the window lift, just cut the trigger wire to the unit, then put a switch in between like i did with mine, works fine and easy to hide a little switch, like chris says though would have been smart to tell them at the time of install. make sure aswell that if you have anything ultra-sonics in the car that you can dissable them when the windows are down or expect your car alarm to be going off.
  3. then they get the idea well if i cant have it he cant and will either leave it on bricks, smash windows to get stereo, key it or worst of all, set it alight. but then again atleast your car will still be where you left it just a little damaged and undriveable yourself , kill switches, immobiliser or anything like that, as every one keeps saying if they want your car they will get it, if they cant get it the will wreck it.
  4. lol, nuthing wrong with a $10 test light if you know what your doing and how to use it without causing damage, but if he doesnt even know how to use a testlight dont think he should be installing an alarm. like everyone else suggested, for out some cash get a pro to fit it or someone like me who use to fit them and knows what i am doing.

  6. how bad is the damage on the unerside?? from picks looks pretty bad?
  7. ive had an egg throwen at my car on springs rd in clayton about a month ago around 11:30pm. felt the erge to rip the hand brake and chase the f**kers but thought 2 wrongs dont make a wrong, i know sumthing will happen to them one day. THATS HOW I FELT BEFOR I LOOKED AT MY CAR AND SAW SCRATCHES DOWN THE SIDE OF IT FROM THE EGG SHELL. WANTED TO FOLLOW AND CALL COPS ON THEM. People need a life, i mean seriously what fun do u get out of egging cars.
  8. Stylyn Car Audio bentleigh or boronia. 95639500 bentleigh or 97398866 boronia
  9. there is a tafe course you can do at holesglen in moorabbbin, it will teach you the basics and also give you a bit of work experience with a car audio company to just get your foot in the door. i did this course and i got a job at one of melbournes car audio specialist instal stores. the car couse helped me get the job there. At first i loved the job the audio, cars, wiring, alarms, boxes, fiberglass and the rest of it. but if like the others say, *if you dont love it you wont survive*, i did love it but didnt see it as my carrer path saw it as more of a hobby, and didnt like the shit cars to work on the hours and so on and so on . otherwise it is generally a good industry, but make sure you leave it if its not something you want to do for a living, nothing worse then being stuck in a job you dont want to do for life. Ring the tafe and see if you can get into the car audio course, its only 6 months and it will be one of your best chances of getting into the industry. GOOD LUCK
  10. usally the dealer wont even see the remote to the alarm, they will just get a key to the car and thats it, wethere its from the remote being lost on transport or just not being sold with the car, as for another brand remote programed to it, it all depends on the alarm its self, maybe you should post up what letters you found on the alarm and anything else you know about the alarm system, i know chris rogers knows alot about different brands of alarms and remotes, as for me im know knowegable on alarm remotes and what alarms they will work with, just how to knstall them. one of you better options in the end might just be to have a professional install a new alarm and remove the old one.
  11. Mongoose alarm for the win, get a tilt sensor and a pager with the m80's, park it close to work and if they do use a truck atleast u will know and can hopefully catch them trying to get away. or like suggested a gps tracker and hide it really well !!!!. where you thinkin about getting it installed?
  12. If you want to run all your speakers of amps then it is best to get a 3 pre-out headunit. Some good brands i would recomend are alpine, pioneer and eclipse. Depending on how much you want to spend and what you want the head unit to have in terms of functions. Have a look at all there websites and see which one best suits your needs. Alpine start round $250 go up 2 $699 for headunit and up to $1899 for dvd screen
  13. purchased my skyline last november NEVER been pulled up in it, a GTST shows up on it last night and i get pulled over checked to make sure its a N/A (dam P's) check ride hight and check vin number against rego. Not liking this Skyline hoon tag there trying to put out there
  14. do u lock the car with the remote?? if you lock the car with the remote whilst engine is stil running it should arm the alarm just not immobilise it, then once the turbo timer turns of the immobiliser should kick in
  15. mongoose do trackers (both hardwired and portable). check out there website for details on them, as for installer in sydney look at the top of the car audio forum there is a post about alarm installers, there shuld be someone in there for sydney
  16. AGREE WITH 99% YOU. the other 1% i will agree to disagree cause i know that we both have differnt sides to look at this from and are never going to have same opinion as for age, it isnt a concern for me when it comes to cars, but it is when the customer who has just paid 185k for his brand new R35 and he doesnt want a 19 years old of AGE working on his pride and joy of that much money, (I KNOW I WOULDNT). (I'll actually get it left here as a reminder for all of those that want to make a quick $50 in this industry and then piss off leaving a mess for us to clean up (this is NOT directed at you.) ) glad for it to stay up as i completely agree with the above comment Thanks for your time chris Will deff be recommending anyone to you for audio/alarms information, sales and installs. Talk l8ta
  17. HA aswell i just got shut down, Never thought of it that way (insurence or anything) and just cause i dont work full time in car audio dont mean i havnt worked on cars since ive left, and as for adams words with the day off it was actually only 2hours in the morning (i know i should have given more notice but ey doesnt that mean he should give more notice when expecting me to just work 3 nights in a row over time telling me each day that i will be working overtime????), that only motivated me more to quit and just pushed my quiting ahead i was planning on quiting way before that but being that in the car audio industry things travelle in a matter of second from you telling sum1 i thought best to keep it to myself. i know i dont have the insurence but i know for fact that i would never get a car alarm installed by most aut*b*r*s or j*-H*F* insurence or no insurence, i have seen work done by them and lets just say a newbie could break into the car and steal it with no problem. yes i was trainee but i did actually finish my traineeship whilst workign there (therefor NOT a trainee anymore) and should be getting payed more then $12 befor tax. and if i had some1 with a R34 or anything i wouldnt be working on it anyways as i have not worked on one (not that i dont trust myself to) but they are brand new cars not 10 - 15 years old. i would take the offer to install alarms down but dont have the control. Thanks for the input chris.
  18. what does it matter that i quit or not, that has nuthing to do with my capability's
  19. quailfied in fitting car audio and accessories. and as for how to use tools and everything you chris an ask ADAM as i use to work at the bentleigh stylyn car audio store (AS THERE ONLY FITTER) so i must have been able to do the work and i know there is an entirely different thinkg to saying you can do alarms and actually being qualified/equipped to do them. if you would like i can take copys of my certs saying that i am compitent, qualified and able to do automotive electrical accessorie installations. and no i cant reset faul lights or replace airbags but i would love to see any autobarn or jb hifi reset an airbag light if they trip one yet they seem to install alarms all the time. and as for replace an airbag im not stupid enough to trip one.
  20. Ey does anyone need a car alarmed installed??? or system, or if you want help with any electronics. I Can do it for you if you like, Im fully qualified and have worked on many Skylines (including my own) installing alarms and many other things electronic, Will come to you if you want and will charge less then a jb or and autobarn, yet still do a good job (probs better then most jb's or autobarns). Give us a PM if you want more info. or have any questions!!! Thanks alot guys hope to hear from you soon.
