Crumple zones are nothing new even for Australian made cars, they are proven to be safer and work well with SRS and other safety technology like ABS. There are many more safety devices or technologies built into cars these days and along with crumple zones are engine and transmission cross member bolts designed to shear and allow for the drivetrain to supposedly fall underneath the car instead of go through the firewall.

That is a good point you make, I just don't want to see the fans go away in this time when the sport needs all the financial backing it can get from both spectators and sponsors. I fear if they ban the team, the team could possibly lose sponsorship and have it threaten their existence..... we will wait and see....

Back on topic.... McLaren will face the World Motor Sport Council this week over the whole Australian GP 'lie gate' incident. I have a suspicion that the penalty is going to be a pretty sever one considering McLaren are still on probation for the famous spy saga.... I'm hoping their verdict is directed at the team (hit them in the pocket) rather than making the sport suffer if they hand the team a ban/disqualification of some sort......
