Cals Budget 32 Build
Calsonic14U replied to Calsonic14U's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
So had a quiet day at work today and luckily the boss went home early morning. So i ended up finishing spraying the cage in the 'Plumb Purple' looks pretty schmick. I also touched up the floor with some matte black including the harnes eyelets. Then bolted the GTR seats into place. Then ran the harness as required on both sides. Adjusted mine up took a few goes and just need the mrs to sit on her side to adjust hers. They feel good and weird at the same time as ive never had proper racing harnesses in a car ive driven before. Also got the bonnet pins mounted and secured properly in the radiator support. Just need some rubber spaces to remove the free play in the pin itself. So heres a few picks. Now just saving for front rear screens and sunroof insert. Then shes ready for racing -

what car or engine does this suit? -
Cant wait to see all the complaints once the defects are handed out. You thought that the top gear turn out of 24 cop cars was bad, expect more when they hear off all the high performance imports having a big meet. My baby will be safe at home.

So few things over the last few days. Swapped my RECARO buckets for a set of genuine GTR seats. They fit in alot better, sit me lower in the car and have a bit more room all round. Also brought the undercoat and rubbed back the rust on the cage. And have today sprayed 3 coats of undercoat ready to sand back. Also sanded the boot where the spare went as some small bits of rust were starting. Also undercoated that. Heres some picks am still thinking purple cage just will mean alot of masking. Then just redoo the black on the interior to make it newer. Also got some bonnet latches and a new 02 sensor in. Seats: Boot before: Boot after: Cage undercoat: Latches and 02: -

Ah i see you havent painted the cage yet, just undercoated my half cage today. Might be an idea while wiring is out pull dash pad out give her a few coats would be painfull to cover all the wiring before spraying lol. -

Hey guys chasing a mild steel or stainless dump or cat back system. Preferably 3 inch with a few mufflers to keep the noise down. To suit 32 GtSt Please pm here. Sydney area prefered. cheers.

Luke im going back to a standard GTR seat due to having got the weld in cage and the seats sit a little higher overall then a stock seat. Once i put a helmet on i hit the roof So GTR seat is a tad lower. It was ok in my daily still had headroom. And I believe these are genuine recaros never been re trimmed or anything. but i cant say as i brought them second hand to start with off a mate.

TBH bookie i dont want to know, but with most of the things second hand, ie bonnet, cooler set up, seats, motor. its looking ok, Cage and exhaust plus mounts were half of that $4000 about $1000 on engine build and $1000 on misc so shes pretty close. might be about 5 once windows and front bar is sprayed but im doing it myself just a nice pressure pack matte black -

Hi guys I have for sale these RECARO bucket seats out of my skyline. They are near new condition. Small mark on drivers seat (see photo) other then that pretty much new. Only other drama is drivers recliner broke. I have made a bracket to hold seat in a nice seating possition. I drove my daily with no dramas but for proper fix will need new recliner assembly. Comes with home made Brackets to suit 32/33 skyline. May also fit S13 i think. Asking $550 ono, or will swap for 32 gtr seats. Condition doesnt have to be perfect as its for my track car. Please PM or phone 0439588620, please no private numbers. I check forums daily but that would be easier. Pick up Blacktown area, seats are at my workshop. Cheers Luke.

So got the car back this arvo. Really happy with the work. Exhaust is still very loud actually dont think she will be acceptable for TEXI. Only for wakefield and the creek. Bonnet looks good needs a little allignment and the pins put in which i ordered from Just jap. The only thing is that they forgot to weld in and put harness eyelets in for the passenger I didnt pay for them but i thought i had and so now i have to go pick up another plate and weld it to the trans tunnel myself. Other then that set back the rest is good. Heres a few picks of bonnet before allignment and pins. -

He had some off cuts from a v8 supercar he did so did me this instead of mild steel Apparently not to loud which is great. looks boss cant wait to hear it. Car is getting picked up tomorrow around lunch so should have it back in my shop by end of day enjoy the picks. main part of pipe work lovely side pipe exit some sexy welds -

Cheers mate, yah i dont know either, its running the 25 box i think i put the 25 starter motor in it. Its not to hard to replace just annoying now ive split tubed it all lol and the cage will now be in. Will definately look into that better cable. Rang brad today from pro fab, cage is being welded into final possition today and hes expecting exhaust to be completed today or tomorrow. So fingers crossed ill have her back late tomorrow or friday. Still thinking of a dark purple for the cage, will just mean alot of masking and newspaper
