hey 4degrees isnt that like 1 notch on the standard gear? or is it more,cause couldnt u just do that?

yes its larger but i sugest u get a fmic be4 u put the turbo in,if yourve already got 1,then its damn easy almost a bolt off,bolt on conversion,only the oil lines have to be adapted to fit but u just get some made at pirtek for next to nothing

well i got the cams in fine, BUT! i think my bro has picked up some of the "things that hold the cam down" i cant remember what there called right now, but yeah so once ive put the gears on and lined everything up there really hard to turn, so im thinking some of them must be in the wrong place, would this cause them not to turn easily? Also to put the belt on do u need to take the balancer off,cause i got it on without doing that buy lineing up the gears and putting the belt on then easing on the gear,which ended up going on really good,but still its too hard to turn the cams, can some1 please help as this is the first time ive done this

yup u can bring one over now if u like and when it comes to exactly 15yrs from the date that the car was made,u can get it complied/ Engineered. Or u could get it now,do all the work needed to get it passed,then once its time all u have to do is take it there,get it ticked off and off ya go if i see one for cheap im gonna get one,but i just want a normal turbo,cause i just want rwd

Guys ive worked in the fuel industry for about 3yrs and safeway fuels are EXACTLY the same as what u find at Caltex as most of them buy of the caltex newport terminal, BUT! in some cases they could get there fuel from Mobil in yarraville which would mean there premium is the same as mobil 8000, what u have todo is when your driving past your local safeway or any fuel servo that is, is stop when the fuel tanker is there refueling,and ask the driver where he loads up at,dont worry they will tell you most of the drivers are great guys. I used to get free fuel from the drivers lol and also free avgas and anything else i wanted

pffft ive now got 3" all the way from the turbo with no cat and a straight through muffler "I think" so im gonna get another muffler straight through barrel style to see if it sounds a bit better,and maybe flow a bit better

hey blind elk theres actually 3 marks on the backing plate for each cam, there at 45 degree spaces, also the TDC mark is on the bottom pully at around 2 oclock on the backing plate isnt it,and theres also a line on the pully that u have to align it with,also if your 1-2 teeth out on the cam gears will this be enough to send some vavles into mr piston? or is there a little leway

DAMN!!! 1k for just gaskets what would u do about oil pumps and bottom end things like that? what would the outcome of a rb23 be? as in would they be up there with the rb25 tourqe wise?

what if u got a blown rb25 motor,then take the crank out,maybe use the rods,get new 4agze pistons, bore the block, that would make the cost alot cheaper wouldnt it,also i could get all that for relatively cheap

oh and whats the best/easiest way to get you no1 piston to TDC?

im putting the cams back in the the marks that i marked lol well i lost them,sooooo how do u line it up? theres some little dots on the gears so do i line them up with something? i was thinking the engine should be at TDC and those dots should represent TDC aswell maybe? also does any1 know the tourqe for the cam caps? and anything else i should know too would be good

lol whenever i get breathalized i ask to keep the little white blow thing, like a momento for geting it done, i also chew the plastic as i find it fun just thougt id share that
