I spoke to the dealer selling that car. They have 4 on there way. The car is on the gold coast being complied. There is another Dealer in Qld that has a real 260RS white '99 with 38k on the clock. It will be $50-55k onroad. Mal

Drove my 98 GSR Lancer on the beach at pt. Maquarie and got bogged right on the water line. managed to get a tow, once the car was hooked up a large wave broke over the car and it started to float out to sea with me in it. Luckly the tow chain stopped me going to sea. Hosed about 100kg of sand out of it and the only damage was a buggered idler pully bearing (was burried in the sand) and a shattered windscreen on the tow vehicle (passanger head hit) I kept the car for another 2 years after that. The funnies thing is everytime the thermo fan kicked in and the bonnet was up, sand would fly....I must have washed, gerni'ed and hosed that car 1000's of times, but sand was everywhere.... I have learnt 4wd is not 4 x 4......:-)

I have just ordered myself a '99 model 260RS stagea from a mate who has a mate with plates. I should have it by the end of Feb 04 at will be around $50k onroad. It will be fun having the fastest production wagon in Oz :-)

Dont get me wrong I am not after cheap. I just do not want to pay for wank value. I intend to build my car for targa speed events, this is why i need something that works. I want this car all go with no show and spend to make a reliable rocket that cops will not notice. The less flashing bling bling in the cabin the less chance it will be stolen. I have recently purchased a R33GTS in Brisbane and would like to get a new MP3/CD head unit installed. If anyone has a mobile guy who can PROFESSIONALY install this item, that they will recommend I would appreciate the help. Also any suggestions on MP3/CD single DIN head units I would only ever want 4x50w so nothing to fancy? Thanks Mal

I do not need any rice setup that is more show than go. there must be a easy to operate and can give me full boost control. I do not care if it is one dial that says 0-30psi. I would rather waste my money on fuel than on rice gimicks. Any suggestions ? Thanks Mal

Thanks for the replies people, I was wanting something that would drop the boost down below factory specs, but I am guessing I would need something with an electronic wastegate/actuator and that would equal big $$$. Tha AVCR looks to be the go, do I need a specific model to use on the RB26DETT ? They seem to be costing around the $750AU for a new one, but I did not want one that was for a different model motor and want to make sure. Are they also user install or do i need it pro installed and then dynoed ? Thanks all Mal

hi all, I would like to know what EBC I can use that will allow me to run 0-20psi boost on a R33GTR? My wife is not used to manuals and I do not want her to get into any trouble, so I want to set the boost at say 1psi for her, but I want 20psi for track days. I do not need any bling bling just full control of the boost. Thanks Mal

I had a $4k sound system put in my car by the largest chain store named after a suburb and I made the mistake of giving them my home address for junkmail. 3 Days later I woke to find it had een very professionally removed, they even unscrewed the rear parcel shelf and removed the speakers and then left it. I guess the only good thing was they did not damage anything in the breakin and removal. Word of warning, get a PO Box and never give your home address to anyone that works or knows about your car.
