  1. if not you could just swap the badge
  2. mine does exactly the same started doing it once i put on a pod so im guessing its because of the way the air goes through the pod at that particular point causes a whistle its definatly not a problem or because anything is shagged and i wouldnt be doin any major component changes to fix it
  3. this could be something as simple as the boost gauge or for electronic boost gauges the sensor aswell
  4. an adjustable cam gear is totally inferior to the std vct, the std vct adjusts on the fly so you get the best of both world(bottom end and top end gains) by changing it to a fixed position cam gear your gonna get only one or the other, this is why no one changes it!
  5. dont think they are the factory ones, but sorry cant help either dont know who makes them
  6. thanks ben making my 210rwkw limit with the with safc and std afm alot more plausable and mads 240rwkw alot more unrealistic! anyhow would still like to know how far people have taken things with the safc if anyone would like to post there results
  7. i would like to see both turbos side by side no alterations i am interested in bot turbos and would just like to know how both perform in the state that they are sold (as thats what ide recieve if i baught one). a journal vs bb would also be an interesting comparo but i think garret have already done that, i just wanna see what i get for my money. I also think the gains of bb are inversly proportional to the size of the turbo ie,bigger gains for bb with a very small turbo and the gains would get progressivly less as your turbo gets bigger because if the moment and enertia of the larger turbine, so just comaring only two turbos for the sake of compareing there bearings and then saying oh bb is this much better is pointless.
  8. i understand they are in a different class it just would have been nice to see the difference in the two and see how a 1k highflow compared to a 2k highflow anyhow was just chasing up to see if it went ahead or not
  9. Did that comparison between slide performance and the gcg highflow that SK was gonna do eventuate, and if so what were the results. Thanks
  10. sorry should have been clearer the safcII is a multi metre it gives you a READOUT is what i ment when i said reads, of what the afm is doin in realtime it can even plot a graph for you of airflow vs rpm it will tell you when the afm maxes out hope this is more clearer...it gives you a reading of alot of things not just afm voltage but tps voltage and rpm aswell all of it in real time NO YOU DONT NEED A MULTIMETRE you still havent told me your research which suggests you can tune a r33gtst to 240rwkw with std ecu std afm and safc
  11. Hey tangle if i look at my cars development and money spent i generally end up payin around $50-$100 a kw so $300 for 25kw seems like a bargain
  12. if most people experiance r&r at around say 185rwkw (i know i did) without an safc, and my safc at its max manipulation is set for -10% (i cant take anymore signal away as my car will be running to lean below 12/1 as i have previously explained) then it looks like my on the verge of r&r at 210rwkw seems situation normal dont you think....in your reasearch how did you come up with 240rwkw with a safc for the std afm without the car running lean or hitting r&r??? remember r&r is what the ecu is trying to do because its starting to see a high output voltage from the afm while the leanout is what will actually happen to the engine if you keep manipulating the signal to stop the r&r.
  13. the safc reads afm as volts or a percentage plus i can also begin to feel the flat spot...do you even own an safc
  14. yes it maxes at the same voltage but it takes more airflow to get to that voltage and more airflow+more fuel would be more power thats what i want to find out.
  15. thanks tangles, my reply wasnt comletly directed at you i just grabbed your reply as an example cause i thaught things were getting a little off topic sorry if it seemed harsh
  16. nismokid was this with the std afm or another??
  17. Guys i just wanted to know how far people had taken things with a safc and weather a larger afm gave them abitmore headroom, practical advice only please dont give me your theorys
  18. it was a pretty good discription without getting to tech, the basic concept is there in that discription
  19. the std ecu ignition maps arnt terrably advanced nomatter what the airflow. it doesnt just keep adding timing the timing is preset and its preset values (even the most advanced ones)arnt enough to cause detonation you will be getting detonation from either running lean or be hitting r&r well before your timing becomes to advanced ps. if you show more airflow to the ecu it will richen the miture and retard the timing not advance it thats what r&r is
  20. How does the safc dial in timing? the way i understood what was going on was without the safc when the afm maxes 5v you get r&r with the safc you can lower the voltage to lean things out and the std comp will see less than 5v so no r&r eventually though if you keep increasing the airfow you will reach a point where you are running to lean to stop the std comp from seeing 5v and if you try to richen things up the std comp will see 5v and r&r i have found with afrs of 12-1 the max amount of power i can get out of the car whith afm signal manipulation from the safc before i get r&r ie, the std comp sees 5v is 210rwkw. with the std afm i dont see how you can get much more than as you will either be running to lean or the std comp will r&r this is why i said the safc is the limiting factor however with a z32 afm i think you would have a little more skope
  21. hi guys just interested to see how much power you guys are getting out of a safc (so to speak) you know the amount of power your getting where the safc is the limiting factor. doesnt matter what mods with the std afm i seem to have run out of resolution at 210rwkw (right on the verge of RR for the ecu and running lean on the engine). has anyone managed to get much more than this with a safc and say z32 or whatever afm or been able to run bigger turbos with it?? Thanks
  22. what do you mean by extractors.....exaust maifold?? (ie. the bits of plumbing between the exaust valves and turbo)
  23. that was a relatively isolated incodent dont you think (the aim of lemans isnt to flip your car) i mean if cars done that all the time no one would drive them. just because a singe car flys into the air doesnt mean they all will.
  24. same thing happened when my car got put on a dyno. they ended up adjusting it to where it ran best but if you read where they set it off the light it was rediculously advanced cant remember exactly how much but it was like high 30's
  25. shit a whole nine secounds thats sooo much faster than bikes... i see guys at wsid with pretty std r1's doin 10sec passes as to your second para, im just saying its stupid compairing anything thats not asisted by downforce with something that is (its like putting mike tyson in a fight with my sister and praising him for how well he faught) and if you took away the f1's downforce advantage you would see that there is really not much between them and that they are really not that impessive. as for the funny car coment it was only in relation to the fact that it was quicker and didnt take off like an aeroplane i was not comparing its ability to go around corners dont try to put words in my mouth and than attemt to attack me. no the f1- probably wouldnt backflip yes it would wheelspin just like the rest of the competition without downforce which is exactly my argument IDIOT... maybe you should take your own advice and think/read/watch then post.
