Josh,
If you don't mind could you give me the name or a link for the Mac software you used for consulting?
I'm on a MacBook Pro and had given up any chance of using for consult because everything was PC based.
The M35 is OBDII, is that going to cause issues?
I'm sure someone here from QLD will advise you of a workshop familiar with M35's.
It's definatly the way to go though, if you are going to get someone else to service it etc. make sure you use someone who know's these cars.
I had my last service done by Hornsby Nissan.
Has it got an aftermarket piggyback? If not I don't see what they are going to tune unless you are seeking someone to remap the factory ecu.
The turbo could be fine but so far 2 or more have lost turbo's, the ceramic one's just don't last forever.
How would the guy you brought it off know, they do little things here and there in Japan before they get here, who know's what goodies it's got
We were discussing this in another thread just recently, do a search. I think the readout on the one you have is +1 Bar (14PSI), which is as high as you should run a ceramic setup if you want it to last.
Has nice pickup, something is definatly modded I reckon, my RS doesn't pick-up that well.

Thanks Chris
The more people I have on the look out the more likely I am to find out.
Anything you could do from that end would be greatly appreciated.
There are a few pics in my Garage (top right hand corner), just search for my user name.
Wheel & Tyres are the stock 17's for the moment, upgrading to 19" at some point, performance side of things comes first, then it's handling, cosmetics.
If you have a factory aero kit fitted the s-tune is about as low as most people would want to go, unless you want to loose the front bar
If you have the standard kit tho you could go lower
The yellow bar is of no concern, I think from memory it says something like "Information" my screen shows the yellow bar with japanese characters too.
I agree with Pure, it may just be a service reminder, a few people here though can read japanese so they may be able to confirm.
Have you ran the diagnostic test to see if you get error codes? If not, do a search of the forum and you should find the test to perform.
I would be surprised if they have had *anything* to do with our ECU at all, we import these cars into Australia and most of the tuner's etc. here havn't had any experience with these ECU's yet.
+1 on this, I don't know how much success your going to have a) getting it to work b) getting maps for the unit (you'll probably just have to do a custom map yourself I'd think).
At the end of the day to purchase the unit and get it shipped you would be looking around $1800? And what if you can't use it on this particular ECU for some reason? Makes my SAS option look pretty good, atleast I know the ECU will be remapped
I think I found what you are talking about, AccessPort?
Looks interesting, zeil20l and I are interested in how you go, keep this thread updated on your progress and results.
Good luck
What exactly is the cobb option?
I done a google and didn't really find anything relevant, just some mob in America or something.
How much freedom are you after?
I was only stirring tho
The R31 needs a new muffler and brake pads me thinks, I've been driving it around locally but don't think I'd risk a trip on the f3
I would offer to drive you up but I'm staying on the coast and coming back sometime Friday arvo.
The ECU is unique, it's even different to the VQ25DD / VQ35DD version of the Stagea.
As per Iain's instruction, he has taken pics and you can find them in the thread he mentioned.
The ECU's should be remappable, I've been in discussion with Silverwater Automotive Service (SAS) but we cannot begin testing and development until we have a spare ECU :| I've been trying to source one but the only one we had a crack at we got outbid on.
The ECU is located behind the glovebox, don't know how easy to get out but I assume it's a few screws and disconnect the cable.
