Getting A V35 In W.a. On The Road.
mosoto replied to DE-NO's topic in VQ Series - V35, V36 & Infiniti
If the car has Australian compliance you are not importing it. Is it currently registered in Qld? If so you are just doing a transfer. The transfer papers ask for what you paid AND what the market value of the vehicle is. For Market Value put down what you paid for it unless you got it at a rediculously unbelievable price. In which case go here: http://www.redbook.com.au/ -
This happened on my VX Calais which is quite a heavy car (read "slug") . The V35 is only 100 odd kg lighter so could be a candidate, although I've read it is a much better balanced vehicle so may not suffer the same fate. the rotors were the slotted non-passivated. I've got the passivated slotted on now and well see how that goes. Has anyone tried the moly rotors?

Just a word of caution, with heavier vehicles you may notice a lot of rotor wear on the fronts. My front rotors lasted the same time as the pads. I have read that the RDA rotor are designed and manufactured to be a little softer to give better bite and stopping power but at the expense of rotor life. They're cheap anyway so why not............

I do and don't agree with you on this issue, yes Km's do not matter but why, because you have absolutely no idea how long the engine has been running to achieve those km's. This is why heavy machinery use time not km's. These Japanese cars spend hours in conjested traffic but travel short distances. just my 2c

Have them powder coated. Canning Vale Powder Coaters quoted me $25ea for a set of Mazda RX8 wheels.

If you know someone in the Gypsy Jokers fraternity you'll get em easy enough. I shared a consignment with a fellow band member years ago but alas never used them, they went dodgy so I threw the lot.

My V35 For Sale, Check It Out!
mosoto replied to Blitz_boy's topic in VQ Series - V35, V36 & Infiniti
I'm debating the sunroof, it's what I want but I'm 6'2" and long in the torso so headroom might be a concern. Is there less headroom than non-sunroof models? there's none over here to compare. -

My observations and I apologise if I'm way off base here but there lies the problem. With the growing car import industry and readily available auction information, Joe public are now too aware that the V35 are reasonably cheap to import, even more-so earlier during the high AUD. Perth Dealers (yards) are making profits of between 10-15k on a used car . This has kept the private market price high, making it still desirable to contact an importer. I think the knock on effect may be a flooded market and the prices dropping accordingly, but that would take awhile I'm sure.
