  1. Cmon guys, there weren't any cops at the trick meet and I doubt amanda would recommend something that will get people in trouble. They seem to be affiliated with trick too so I've got a feeling it'll be a fun and cool environment. I expect a few flat cappers there but we should show up to represent the TS(E)O Besides, we do need the up our car volume when we do our shiz
  2. Guys, just received word from Amanda that some mob is having a cruise in Toowoomba. They're called Last Place Cruising. A mob made up of a variety of cars from swifts, focus', imports etc etc. The meeting spot is at the North St Lookout on Sunday 9th of Feb (this weekend) at 10AM. You can look up the details on facebook 'Last Place Cruising'. Anyone interested in rocking up to represent our little group? Would be a good way to get more people into our little circle seeing as they don't discriminate on cars or mods on cars Don't be lazy, I'll tag along. If I don't have the evo by the weekend, I'll come in the family wagon cos it'll be a normal cruise doing the speed limit with photographers present (or so they say)
  3. Rule of thumb for purchasing any used/ageing/old sports car. Take the purchase price and double it. If you aren't able to do this, forget about getting said vehicle. I'm not saying you will use all that money just keeping the car on the road but the extra money will give you plenty of reserves to cover worst case scenarios. If you happen to get a really good car that doesn't dig into your savings, use that money as a deposit for a house instead...Win Win
  4. Said it before, your 33 viscous diff is hopelessly unreliable and over time will single leg once the viscous fluid goes past it's use-by date (if they haven't already). Coilovers alone aren't the answer to track work. Have you sorted out proper alignment settings for track work? Adjustable arms? Some of these guys have... You won't be chopping anyone except for people like me and that's not saying much That car of yours belongs in the sticks and not on the track. Just so you know I'm just stirring. Pretty rough day at work so far...........
  5. Needs much better tyres, brakes and proper suspension setup + diff. Mad skillz alone won't get you very far LOL You have no hope
  6. Yea, that person should be either the owner's son or something. Thai looking guy yea? If I'm not mistaken, it also has Ksport brakes? Don't think he drives it hard enough because it always looks so clean Someone should hit him up and get him to join us on one of our runs. We need another funky colour so the Abom doesn't get all the attention!
  7. High mounted singles are good. Especially if you get pulled over. Then your car will be off the road again..... Whichever way you go, do it quick so we can get more cars on the road when we do our little cruises We really need to add a bit more variety to our sausage fest
  8. I was going to ask you guys to head out to the KMart meet on Saturday 6pm. Amanda will be there with her family (if you remember her from our last run). That's her gig and her dad's a regular. Where do we meet up? Tbar HQ?
  9. Why wouldn't they? Quite a number of members there have bought from them and for all you know, the younger ones probably saved up years for the car or even have finance on it. I'd be shattered if I were one of them. Denial and ignorance can make a lot of bad things go away. I doubt any parent would admit or come to terms that their child is a psycho killer/mass murderer/terrorist until it has had time to sink in. Perhaps even never
  10. You and most people I'll get there one day...
  11. I think at the end of the day, I'm always for response because I'm a lazy driver. Always get caught napping in the wrong gear and have never revved any car I've owned to the limit. Short-shifting is where it's at
  12. You're nearly there, Nick. Should hit 20k posts by tonight yea?
  13. Couldn't really feel any lag simply because I wasn't driving it nor was I looking at the tacho. I think my comment after being in the driver's seat would differ though. Having said that, it's a bit too scary for me. The sudden surge is brutal!
  14. You only have 2?3? gears anyway lol You stay in your powerband longer especially with that long arse auto diff pinion and crown ratio of yours. Horses for courses Response is where it's at for me - which also happens to be where I spend most of my driving 99.99% of the time. Here's a link for Terry to make up his mind. Has both sides of the fence and no clear winner http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/254450-79s-or-5s-garretts/
  15. Fixed Comp wheels are mostly aluminium or steel. Forgot to mention, my turbo has the optional Titanium alloy exhaust wheel Wouldn't you guys rather a more responsive turbo? So in this case the -7s would be ideal? I always thought people went for linear power/greatest area under the curve so correct me if I'm wrong. Laggier turbos move the power band higher up the rev range and by then the RB26 would be filling the catch can pretty quick.
  16. I know a certain person in this thread that has a few choices of turbos lying around He's a turbo whore and chops and changes whenever he sees fit. Said person might even still have his ceramics if you just wanna do a swap. Btw, inconel compressor + exhaust wheel FTW
  17. So when are we doing this massive cruise thing again? I got my fingers crossed we get more than 3-4 cars........
  18. ^The purple doesn't last long. Turns brown as it oxidizes Have used Nulon 10w-40, Motul 8100 X-Max 10w-40, Royal Purple Synerlec SL, API and HPS 10w-40 and now Penrite Racing 10w-40. All these oils we used for 2 or more oil changes cos I want to see if there were any benefits. No discernible performance difference. Engine ran the same. The only thing I noticed was that the Nulon at 5000km became a lot thicker whereas the other oils stay nice and fluid at cold temperatures. The old adage "you do get what you pay for" doesn't always apply to all things especially engine oil but in this instance, it was enough for me to move away from the product.
  19. Well it does emit a fair bit of heat LOL
  20. I don't know how accurate the R34 gauge is for oil. It could be out of whack. However, if it is correct, then elevated oil temps can be linked with the inability of your cooling system to keep temps in check. The nissan water temp gauge is the most inaccurate thing ever. Once it indicates things are hot, you've cooked the motor I was lucky enough to catch my gauge in the process of getting hot...it was only 3/4 of the way but by then, even my intercooler cold pipe too hot to touch. Managed to crawl the old girl home with the heater on full whack to help with temps. New coolant and thermostat (optional) is cheap. Cheaper still that there are mates out there willing to help. 1 weekend without alcohol is all it costs LOLOL I'll be owning one of these after this weekend HA
