  1. If and when my numbers come up I don't have to get in it to know this. I'm going to hazard a guess right now, she's too loud, too low, paint job looks "different" and there's a guy that looks like a young hoon in the driver's seat. Say's "come violate me without lube" to the coppers all day everyday LOL Please come up to Tbar and give me my ride before you lose your license.....
  2. ^ I call mine the 'old girl'. Polygamy is a wonderful thing New evo's are way out of my budget LOL. Would rather a 34GTR, then spend the rest on a falcodore. But even the old ones are awesome. 7s-9s make 382NM - 400+ NM of torque factory standard from a pissy little 2ltr motor. Look, I'm a victim of circumstance. I don't want the extra expense of keeping her and paying rego/insurance on a 3rd car. But I'll say this, when my numbers come up, I'll have a type x, GT3, 400R/VSpecIINur all in the one garage
  3. Sale is going slowly as I thought it would. Have had a few requests for swaps but the cars aren't what I'm gunning for. Feeling first hand how slow the market is right now. Went for a drive in a stock evo last week. All I can say is that they're definitely more than just a fast car. If you guys haven't been in one, you really have to. Surpassed my expectations on how a "lancer" should drive/handle Only dislike was the doors clanged so bad when closed. Made the 180 feel almost luxurious.
  4. GTR = 2 door. Wouldn't be selling the old girl if I intend on keeping a 2 door. Stag = Ugly, hearse like and certainly wouldn't be keeping up too good with you guys on the twisties with all the extra bulk and chassis flex. You don't wanna know what I've spent on the old girl in maintenance alone so an old 32/33 4door would cost me a fair bit to get up to my standards. Just looking to stay away from extensively modding a car for now. Would rather buy one that goes hard straight out of the box That's the one. Have only seen a couple in all my time trawling the auctions. Definitely won't come cheap either if I want a good specimen.
  5. They're rare as hen's teeth and suffer the same GTR tax when it comes to maintenance (perhaps even more). Looking for a good unmolested one will take me years! I even mentioned the RS260 but that got canned. BTW, the budget has increased cos I've been good the last few months or so I fully intend on pushing the boundaries and exploiting this sudden generosity LOL
  6. U know I'm not allowed to buy a GTR so the evo is a good compromise I think. Its like not being allowed to get a GT2RS but I can buy a Panamera turbo S instead She's a lovely woman...so supportive
  7. No bites, no nibbles. Hell not even scammers. At this rate, I'll prolly end up with an evo first before I sell the old girl cos good evos don't hang around for too long. Perhaps I went about my car the wrong way. Maintenance, handling and braking definitely a massive fail. Bolting on some huge turbo to make 300kw and neglecting everything else would have sold her by now But yea, no rush. I can wait. In fact, the longer the better I still love her to bits and it hurts me greatly to think that I've put her up for sale... Wife n I both agree that we feel nothing for an evo. Its a faster, better, more practical vehicle but it's not a type X
  8. Big dad's still run up near Prince Henry
  9. Always next time
  10. Keen to head out to a lunch run in yours Can meet at tbar HQ before you leave. I've made a promise to the wife that the old girl stays in the garage until we part ways...
  11. No details, clint The painter is a mate of a mate so I don't really know the person. Results are pretty good though and I got things done for a very good price
  12. Pretty sure you can figure this one out, Chris. Guard needed some massaging, intercooler brackets needed straightening, and some plastic welding was done. All corroded/broken bolts were either removed or drilled out with new ones put through. Definitely wasn't a straight forward job but it got done one weekend. Paint was done by someone unknown to me but it was certainly better than the paint previously on there. There...I've given you one very distinct clue already as to who done most of the work as it happens to be his specialty Man of many skills - some of which I'm just beginning to discover. Lancer evo X bathurst?
  13. You are too gracious, O' Great Leader But its all good round my end. She's fixed and repainted. Looks and fitment are even better than when I first bought her Already got a couple of stone chips to prove she's been driven a bit since LOL What's mum got now? 89/brz?
  14. Well, I really dont want us to tone down anything. But as we discussed today at lunch, I might be attending future events in a totally new car (if all goes well) so toning things down will help me learn to drive said new vehicle without too many problems. GTRs are beastly cars to try and keep up with
  15. Lucky indeed. Minor repairs needed to the front bar. Its only a fibreglass copy lip. Got an original tucked away somewhere safe. An original ABS plastic lip mounted properly would have seen the whole front bar ripped off LOL
  16. Driving fast on bumpy roads with 4 yr old worn tyres. She took the 1st (relatively sedate) run ok but the 2nd (more aggresive) run she started to understeer more and more with each corner. I chose to maintain my pace and understeered off the road and nearly plunged into a creek. Over corrected to avoid the creek and spun onto a gravel patch (luckily not a tree). The impact of hitting the gravel ripped my front lip off Have done that road numerous times and have always driven within my limits. The one time I choose to be a noob and ignore the feedback the car was giving me, this happens... I make no excuses for my lack of professional driving skills but I think a true pro would have chosen to not drive the car at that pace in the first place. Yea she's OK with you guys. Her wish is that we perhaps tone it down a little. Maybe now she'll let me spend a bit more for happy laps
  17. No tissue can soothe the hurt in my heart... Boss was happy I was OK so I didn't get my butt kicked so that was a good outcome
  18. To try not to damage your car
  19. 11.30 at the car park it is. Hope we get a good turnout
  20. Commodore is fine. Black is the new white You must turn up at car park. Your Great Leader demands this of all of us. You dare disobey Great Leader?? For real? She's spent all her time in the garage bar Anzac and the weekend. Garry was in town with his silver one and there's another silver one in town somewhere too (but these two have quite distinct differences to mine). Surely you must have the old girl confused with someone else
  21. So are we really game for Sunday or what? No details so far, no nothing... Great leader will lead us from top of mountain to bottom of mountain back to top of mountain with supreme skill and leadership.
  22. No president in T-bar. Only Great Leader!!
  23. I'll come. Need to catch up with the rest of the group - apart from great leader whom I spoke to briefly the other day
  24. It doesn't matter who gets it as long as I'm welcomed to the party
  25. LOL, I actually read this the first time as AboNick
