Any stronger engine and trans mount for r34gtr?
Nosure replied to Nosure's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Is this a common problem? -
Hi everyone. Just a question about engine mount? What kind of engine mount people using here? I got nismo engine and gearbox mount. And they are only 5000kms old. Now it has lot movement when on high rpm make me really hard shift from 2-3 gear or miss shift 2-5 gear. the gear knob move a lot when the car 7000rpm+ On 2nd gear .gear knob doesn’t shake but move to one direction I think it’s left. It was fine when the mount was new. the car only make 660hp. Any idea? Nismo mount again? Any other option?

should i worry about low oil and water temp? r34gtr
Nosure replied to Nosure's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I removed nismo thermostat, the oil temp goes up to 70+.( take a some time) Only a little improvement. But with 40 weight oil. The viscosity should be same as people running 50 weight oil at 80c+. And for build engine maybe a little bit thicker oil isn’t too bad. -

I think Nismo oil cooler should include the oil thermostat plate? -

You are right. I did not pushing it hard enough:) but Is there any long term effect from the lower temp? The car drive perfectly. Power always there. And I change oil every 3000kms or sooner. -

should i worry about low oil and water temp? r34gtr
Nosure replied to Nosure's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes true. but even before i put the nismo thermostat the oil temp still that low. with the nismo thermostat only the water temp goes lower which is normal for low temp thermostat. i did a short drive today, found the oil temp did go up to 75c in city with a lot stops. water temp is around 70c if i cruising around , but it go up to 85c when stuck in traffic. -

but if i use 40 weight oil the viscosity @ 70c should similer to people running 50 weight oil @ 80c+? -

i'm not really worry about the water temp, but the oil temp look too low for me. the oil temp only go up to 80C+ when in really bad traffic like 10 mins drive 1km. i use 10w40 or 5w40 oil. maybe i should change to 5w30? -
Hi my r34 gtr always run lower oil temp since i import it 2 years ago. and now even lower with some addition mods like nismo thermostat, and big oil sump etc. At moment it run max 75C(normally around 60c-70c depend outside temp) oil and 70C water on street. if i push it hard for 10 mins the oil temp still around 90c, water temp below 80c. the car has nitto oil pump, high octane 9L sump, nismo oil cooler. arc intercooler, nismo radiator. car is running e85 made near 500awkw. should i worry about the oil temp? i'm start thinking i got bad sensor:(

thank great info!! thanks a lot! i will get the suspension checked one day, but i don't think anything wrong with it. if they are all good, I will get better tire, but i worried some better tire will make it even worse. because the day without too much axle tramp the tire feel normal, but the day with a lot axle tramp the tire feel a little sticky. both day i run same setup. maybe some really sticky tire will fix this problem. I don't really feel the car shake , but the gear knob shake badly. i just worried i will damage the gearbox one day cause the axle tramp:(
