  1. Willall Fire Extinguisher and Bracket for sale. This is a must for any track day enthusiast. This extinguisher and brace bolts easily under the passenger seat rails without the need for any drilling or modifications. $175 located in Brisbane. Thanks, Stuart

    Nurburgring

Hi all, I be at the Nurburgring on the 11th and 12th of July (Monday and Tuesday). Originally I had planned to book a BMW Ring Taxi but it doesn't run on weekdays. Can anybody suggest another way to experience this legendary track? I would be open to hiring a car (I have some track experience) but understand that I would have to be very careful as I have never driven the track before (apart from on GT5). Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Stuart
  5. Can anyone recommend a good bar/sports bar to watch the F1 on Sunday afternoon/evening? Needs to have a decent screen and need to be able to hear the commentary.
  6. What type of exhaust did you have installed mate? Does it drone much?
  7. Yeah, I plan to head down for it, but just to watch.
  8. Very impressive Mark! Please tell me we will see this at Superlap...
  9. I don't think you could import a set of rears from tire rack at the moment for less than $1000 landed. Are shipping charges used in the calculation to determine if GST is to be applied? Or is GST applied only if the goods exceed $1000?
  10. I don't think you can copy mp3 files to the hard drive, but I thought you could play mp3 files from a CD. Not sure though.
  11. I just bought 2 Bridgestones (fronts) from Tire Rack and they were about $450 each including shipping etc. That was MUCH cheaper than I could find them anywhere in Australia.
  12. I am really looking forward to getting back out on the track! Mark, can you give me some idea of the pressures I should be running with those wheels and tyres?
  13. I am hoping to be there. If it is wet, I may give it a miss.
  14. I am also interested in this. Are they manufactured by Nissan?
  15. I ticked the 'mildly modded' box with a COBB tune and a mid-pipe. I get along to as many track days as I can and am looking forward to running on slicks this year. It is difficult to stop myself from progressing further up the scale! Caymen? Two or more entry level Porsches?
  16. I have never used my own car on the Mt Cotton skid pan as I am told they use diesel to make it slippery. It may be ok if you manage to hose it all off but I have seen evidence of discoloured rubber trim etc. on cars that have been on that skid pan.
  17. I won't be able make this one dieto my lack of tyres, but I will come out to have a look and say hello.
  18. Bad luck mate... It looks like you have crossed a solid white line to overtake. Is that legal? Would it be a problem if you challenged? Good Luck!
  19. I believe S-Tec is a car prepared for a privateer racing series in Japan. Also, looks like the price of the base car has jumped significantly. I like the fact that the wheels are lighter but I am not sure that I like the look of them as much. I don't like the LEDs. They should have incorporated the LEDs into the headlight IMHO. Perhaps something like BMW's 'Angel eyes'?
  20. My first set of tyres were the Dunlops. I got about 5 or 6 full track days (assorted tracks) and 16,000km. I replaced them with Bridgestones which have lasted 2 full trackdays (front tyres badly worn) and 2000km. Not impressed.
  21. I have owned a JDM for over a year now and am very happy with the car. There isn't too much in Japanese and all of the major buttons are in English. It is mostly Sat Nav buttons in Japanese (that doesn't work here anyway). I think the decision depends a lot on your personality. I like being able to service my car where I want, put an exhaust on the car, use a different transmission oil etc. without the fear of losing the warranty. I don't have a warranty, but I didn't pay for it! If you are going to track an ADM car often, you will need to take the car in for pre track and post track inspections and change the fluids with Nissan (expensive) items to maintain your warranty with respect to those parts. Bear in mind that if something does break on a JDM, it may be expensive and time consuming to repair. However, there is some excellent after market support for the R35 in Australia now. I would recommend that you talk to some of the workshops who look after R35s to see if you are comfortable owning a car tha Nissan may refuse to support or service.
  22. Interesting post Bill! I'm glad there was no damage to the car. Is the rim damaged?
  23. Good to see you are enjoying your new midpipe! Does it drone at highway speeds at all?
