  1. last tank averaged 14.2L/100km with manual shifting for the entire period. Included a mountain run/
  2. I wanted a white one, they only had red ones...
  3. I just put the Willall Racing transmission fluid in my car this morning and the '1-2 clunk bang' seems to be less harsh.
  4. What is exactly is the sunroom add on?
  5. For the performance levels this car achieves, I think the fuel consumption is quite good. Sure, it uses heaps of petrol when you are pushing hard but that is the case with any fast car. We are lucky that if you choose to drive conservatively, reasonable fuel consumption can be gained.
  6. I have been asked a few times how much fuel the GTR uses, so I am going to post the fuel consumption figures for my 2008 JDM GTR every so often. Since my last fill up I have concentrated on conserving fuel and driving fairly efficiently and therefore left the car in auto mode most of the time. The driving consisted mainly of inner city bumper to bumper traffic and some suburban driving. However, I did have some self restraint issues and floored it a few times. Over 380km the car used 49.09L of V power. i.e. 12.9L/100km. I think this could easily be improved in less dense traffic and more highway driving, however drivng in a fuel efficient fashion is not the way to gain the most enjoyment from this car. I am installing a midpipe this Friday so it will be interesting to see how that effects fuel consumption (if at all). It would be great to see what fuel consumption others are achieving - don't be shy, post up your stats!
  7. Yeah mate, I live in the Valley and was going for a run.
  8. spotted GTR R35 (handbrake) on the Story Bridge 5 mins ago. Unfortunately the traffic was so bad, I beat it across the bridge and I was on foot!
  9. Congrats on your new GTR! I look forward to seeing the pics!
  10. On the freeway it is easy to get a fuel consumption of 10L/100km if you are gentle with the throttle. Getting it registered was actually fairly painless (except for stamp duty, THAT was painful) but I was well prepard with all the appropriate forms and paperwork etc filled out before I went into Qld transport. In addition to their forms they wanted to see RAWS compliance paperwork, contract of sale, evidence of CTP insurance as well as physically checking the VIN and engine number. At this point in time, the car yard I purchased from are not considering getting in anymore R35s - I not sure if that is possible anymore.
  11. saw a white R33 with white rims pulled over on Smith St at Soutport about 2.30pm today

Hi all, I bought a JDM R35 GTR a couple weeks ago (thread about this in R35 GTR Discussion). I will be looking to install a mid pipe, Cobb tune, reverse camera, window tints etc. - nothing too wild. I used to own an R33 GTST (one of the best cars I have owned) a few years ago and look forward to joining the Skyline community again!
  13. I have often looked at the new and used car prices in the UK with great envy! When you do a straight conversion from pounds to Aussie dollars (as evidenced a few posts up) it always appears that they are buying their cars at far better prices than we are. I have noticed that as a rough rule of thumb, if you times the price of a UK car (in pounds) times 3, it roughly works out to the value of cars in Australia (new or used). I don't know why this is the case, it probably has something to do with our outrageous tax system.
  14. Munro, What does it sound like at constant throttle at 60km/h and 100km/h? Some in car sound clips (especially at the above speeds) would be very useful.
  15. They are pretty quick times on street tyres! How did you have the VDC set? Was it in R?
  16. Hi guys, Good to hear from some other R35 owners in Brisbane! I also have an Ivory Pearl car. Maybe we could get together for a track day at QR someday?
  17. Good to hear Matt - can't wait to see the pics! I talked to the guys at Eurotune and will be putting the Willall TM oil in my car in the very near future.
  18. From memory, press the 'Source' button until CF Card is displayed at the bottom of your MFD. Then press the button to the right of the knob that you use to toggle between MFD screens (opposite the 'Function' button) I'm pretty sure you can't transfer the files from the CF card to the hard drive though.
  19. You are quite right - I didn't pay for a warranty, and I don't have to worry about voiding any warranty with minor mods or track days. I realise I have taken a risk here but it is a somewhat calculated one.
  20. I bought the car from Luxury and Performance Vehicles in Bayswater. It was the only R35 they had in stock. I'm not comfortable saying exactly how much I paid but it was a very significant saving over an ADM car. Given that I am planning to put in Willall transmission fluid, participate in track days, change the mid pipe etc. the warranty issues with ADM cars made the JDM more attractive. Also JDM has CF card slot and a few other minor items I liked.
  21. Is anyone in Qld with one of these mid pipes willing to meet up to help me decide if this is the right product for me?
  22. Thanks for the advice Matt. Before I made the decision to buy the car I did a lot of research and contacted quite a few different people for advice (including yourself!). I also came to the conclusion that there is a strong enough community in Oz now to look after any problems that may arise with the car. I was always considering Cobb, mid pipe, track days, TM oil etc. and decided that the warranty that Nissan provided wasn't worth as much to me as it may be to others. I also like to drive cars fast (in the approprate environment) but always drive with a great degree of 'mechanical sympathy'. I hope this will help prevent any transmission complications. It appears that you drive in a sinilar fashion (no launch etc.) so I hope I will be luckier than you! Let's hope that a Consult III becomes available for use in Qld soon - I have heard that one may be available soon. Thanks again for the useful advice.
