  1. good call, i will try it tonight. thanks mate
  2. interesting point about the handbrake, I cant remember if it was on or not. on the way home from work ill leave it down and try it again. I didnt wire it unfortunately, came with it when i bought it
  3. Hi, my r33 gts-t came with a turbo timer when I bought it. I was told its an apexi. It is a silver thing, blue light in the screen and 4 buttons, two on each side of the screen. the timer has three modes that I can work out. 1st - override, press the button and the car shuts off immediately 2nd - manual timer (I have set it to 1min and it counts down from there) 3rd - (which I havn't used) is the automatic mode, the car has a temp sensor in the top radiator hose and it runs until it is at a predetermined temp and shuts off. The car is always in the manual timer mode (except for a couple of times when I have shut it off with the override when necessary. Now this fault ahs happened twice, interestingly both were after giving it a bit of a run (not a thrash at all but having wound a gear or two out within the last 5 or so minutes) the key is turned to off and instead of the turbo timer counting down it beeps loudly, the engine shuts off and the timer screen say 'PEFrr' any ideas or experiences?
  4. generally speaking at what sort of millage are you best replacing the fuel pump?
  5. Hi all, I have bought myself an r33 gts-t manual and have doen all the good service items (new oil in eng diff and box) new coolant, cleaned afm etc very happy with the car. I also put in new plugs. I used the ngk recommended Platinum long lifes. Now my question is that the plugs are a 5 heat rating (as recommended) and a 1.1 gap. at what modification point will these no longer suit? The car has a 3inch cat back enhaust, high flow cat and std airbox with a bmc filter and a small scoop to direct air up into the snorkle. next step is a 3inch dump pipe then eventually a cooler. will probably leave the boost stock. will these plugs still be sutiabel at that point or will i need a 6 heat rating with a 0.8 gap? thanks
  6. ok no worries ill give that a try, must look more complicated than it is. thanks mate
  7. HI everyone, I am putting the factory airbox back into my r33 gts-t as it came with a pod filter when I bought it. While I had the afm out I thought I would remove the intake pipe to the turbo as there is a bit of crap in it and check the turbo shaft play. The thing is the hose clamp to remove the intake pipe is burried quite deep, i read somewhere here that its a '5min' job to get it off... what am I missing because from what i can see a WHOLE lot of stuff has to come out. what am I missing and what is the minimum amount of things that have to be removed? thanks!
  8. ok thanks for the info guys, i did see the 300v but i sought of thought for the type of driving mine does (no track work only mild daily duties) it might be overkill combined with the fact that i change it every 5000 with a quality drift filter. are the nulon and motul both group3s?
  9. Hi guys, I have a R33 gts-t with 86k on the clock. I have been running the nulon 10w40 synthetic in it. keep in mind the car is sriven daily, not abussed (gets a boot full from time to time only) and the oil is changed every 5000 on the dot! It seems here the motul is the favourite. I had a look in autobarn and the motul turbolight 4100 seems to be the compeditor price wise to the nulon. which would people consider to be the better choice in my application? is the motul a lower grade semi-syn than the nulon? temperature wise? any thoughts welcome
  10. thanks mate they look good but it will cost too much to freight them down from qld cheers
  11. Thinking about buying some r34 gt-t 17s for my r33 gts-t. I have searched and searched, here and on google and I cant find a pic. does anyone have one? my car is silver with std ride height so one in that config would be awesome but would be great just to see a set on the 33 body thanks! Jason [email protected] (in case you prefer to email it)
  12. Hi, I am after a Return Flow Intercooler so suit an R33 GTS-T SERIES 2. Must be in good condition with pics. Must be a bolt in for a series 2, no bumper, or metal cutting. Must include all hoses, brackets and joiners to fit up to the standard piping. I am in south eastern melbourne so the closer the better. Will pay for postage for the right cooler Cheers Jason [email protected] 0431286689
  13. ok thats good info, might borrow one off a mate and try first, cheers fellas
  14. great, thanks dude! jsut got to sought out these offsets
  15. thanks for the reply. are all the ba bf wheels +30 ofset? do they and skylines all share the saem stud pattern? cheers
  16. Hi, I am just wondering if the late model ford wheels (BA, BF, FG) wheels will fit on skylines (specifically r33 gts-t) I saw a set of ba xr8s on a 33 once and they looked great. Are the stud patterns and offsets the same or similar? Thanks Jason
  17. on that note, how often should the pcv be replaced? are they easy top change?
  18. Hi, I am looking for some new wheels for my r33 gts-t. I dont want to spend too much as I am still paying the car off. I was thinking some 350z 18" track wheels, r34 gt-t wheels or anythign else that looks good but not too expensive. Let me know what you have Jason 0431 286 689 [email protected]
  19. replied via text. just to clear it up too im after the whole assembly from turbo to cat. so the dump pipe and front pipe if it is seperate thanks
  20. Hi all, Im chasing a dump pipe for my r33 gts-t. I want a 3 inch one (dosnt have to be split) has to bolt in to the standard system and turbo. looking for one in the SE suburbs of melb. not after stainless specifically, happy with mild steel as i dont want to spend a fortune thanks Jason 0431286689 [email protected]
  21. so if i put these mods on it will run ricjer not leaner? i know they run rich from the factory so i thought with the extra cooling ability and therefore denser intake charge it would balance the AFRs out a bit more. picking up the cooler tonight. very large return flow cooler. I got myself a stock airbox with snorkle which I will put back in at the same time. hoping for good results! next will be the dump pipe to match the rest of the exhaust. I had the timing belt done yesterday and asked the guys to check out my exhaust. they said the cat is xforce (any good?) and that the exhaust is a 3inch mandral stainless but has twin pipes inside the mufflers which can be a bit of a restriction. probably not enough to worry about with what I am chasing (approx 200rwkw with the stock turbo)
  22. ah that makes sense! there was an aerial on the fron passenger corner of my car which was removed for compliance. it must be the left over from that! no wonder it dosnt do anything the aerial is gone!
  23. ok my camera wont upload so i drew it up on paint, this is very close to what is looks like. the switch only rocks towards the rear of the car (the arrow side)
