  1. Here's the first demo model of the clapper switch I've been building. Hopefully I'll be getting it into production soon. Price somewhere between $50-$100, bepending on how cheap i can get some gear in bulk. http://youtu.be/oZ2jm-RbseU
  2. What do you mean by fixed lighting? Given that I can switch a relay with sounds waves, I'm pretty confident I can switch anything with just about anything
  3. I'm going to make a demo one that i can take around and show people, then look at getting some circuit boards printed up for them How i made it. I take a 240vac to 5vdc transformer, power up a small microphone then run the output through an amplifier circuit and into my Microprocessor. Inside the Microprocessor I've written some code to look at the shape of the voltage spike and determine if it's a clap or not. If it sees a clap it starts a timer that waits for the second clap. If all the parameters are met eg, amplitude, frequency (sharpness) and time between claps, the Microprocessor switches a relay on which switches the light on... All of this fits in behind the switch plate on the wall and there is an extra switch that houses the microphone. The first Version of software started switching on the lights with coughing and laughing and stuff. But Version 2 seems rock solid so far! Hopfully i can make them quickly and package them nicely for around fiddy bucks. depending if anyone actually wants one of course...
  4. So I've been tinkering in the workshop (waiting for more parts for the Segway to arrive) and I made a "clappa". ya'know, where you clap your hands twice and the lights turn on/off. It's really freakin awesome, sitting on the couch thinking damn the movies started and the lights still on and i wish i didn't have to get up and turn them off... But now I just clap my hands twice and the lights turn off! If i can get the production speed and costs down a bit i might make a bunch of them, a couple of work colleagues already want a couple. Any interest for this out there in the non-electricians world?
  5. Spotted a Sau Vic member driving his 32 GTR down belconnen way this morning going into civic. I was the guy in the van that let you into the left lane! lol.
  6. Not sure. I'm not fully knowledgable in the T28 turbo's. But if ya google OP6 or read through Stao's hypergear thread you'll learn a bit more about it. And yes I am on the good side up north.
  7. Another stock turbs for sale if anyone is interested. came out at around 70,000 ks and is in perfect working order with no shaft play. OP6 housing for bigger and better high flows $300.
  8. So you and Troy felt fireworks and explosions at 4am??? somthing you guys aren't telling us?
  9. Hmmmmm. This should totally be my next electronics project!!! After the segway.....
  10. Top idea! It would be awesome on the golf course. Going to go and hire one and cruise around the lake to see what a full size one rides like.
  11. Yeah, it's been an awesome little project!. Can't wait to get into bulding the full size one
  12. ROBOTS!!!! I've been working on a "mini segway" type robot. It's got 2 wheels, stands up and keeps itself balanced. I added a servo to move a weight back on forth and incorperated my r/c car transmitter into to drive it around. check it out! Once I've figured out all the bugs (and have a few spare dollars) I'm going to build a full size segway to cruise around on
  13. Wow. Not liking this new look SAU. I'm scared...
  14. Naww sheesh guys! You gonna make me blush!!!. That beer does sound good but
  15. Leave it till saturday mitch. I'll bring my soldering iron, I did the exact same swap on my afm with the tomei plug. And yes you do need to ground 2 of the 4 wires... easy.
  16. I have a gas powerd soldering iron which is great for working on cars. No need to run a lead out to it. You're welcome to borrow it.

    Wheels 2012

Holy hist i completely forgot about this! damn you brain!
  18. awesome is it a hypergear OP6 highflow? I'm interested to see the results of one of those... I may be free on easter too.
  19. When you say take the turbo off one day, then try put it on 2 days later... What turbo is going on exactly? If you're not sending your turbo away to get highflowed.
  20. Yeah that happens sometimes. Mine started undoing them selves while on a cruise near the cotter... Blew out the gasket and sounded horrible. Somtime ya get lucky, sometimes ya don't... How's the SS1PU looking?
  21. Yeah spray it with WD40, can't hurt! I THINK the water lines are a 24mm banjo bolt, I may be off with the size but its a pretty big socket you need. They are on either side of the turbo (the oil feed is on the top and the oil drain is on the bottom). the outside banjo bolt is easy to access, the one in between the turbo and block is kinda hard to get to. It can be easier to remove the dump and manifold nuts to you can slide the turbo out then get room to get the socket in there behind it. As soon as you crack the either of the banjo bolts the head will drain all it's coolant out onto your feet, through said banjo bolt, so don't panic. So get a tray or something under there The oil feed really is as simple as undoing an easy to get to bolt. the oil drain you can get off by just undoing a hose clamp under the turbo (stick your head under there and you can't miss it).
  22. Kasko, I'm very confident that you will have to do some serious (but very cautious) bending of the hard water lines. This can be a complete pain in the ass, we got it there on Troy's, but i went and got a soft line made up for mine from enzed. Mitcho, The 34 highflow will just bolt straight back on and everything will line up perfectly. - There's 6 dump pipe bolts (if you have had a new dump pipe some time in the cars life these won't be too bad) If it's a stock dump you might be able to detatch the dump from the rest of the exhaust by 3 bolts (i think), then take it out and get the dump removed on the bench. - 4 Turbo to Manifold bolts/nuts (Theses are the ones that will break if anything's going to go wrong. Get new studs if you can get the old ones out! search Hypergear's thread for the size of stud, any exhaust shop will have them) - 2 oil lines (easy) - 2 water lines (will be easy with the same turbo going on) - and the obvious piping (easy) Cheers
