  1. LOL. sorry, i just thought that was really amusing for some reason. i'd be attacking the engine with carby clean as previously stated around the gasket points on the inlet manifold/throttle body/ joins on cooler piping etc.. and then replacing the bov with a stock one if that turns up neg. THEN if all else fails.....replace the motor jkz
  2. lol cheeky bastards. ahhwell if its easier to see its easier to hit =]
  3. thats the point of this thread lol i tried that and its not working, ive seen a few people hook it up off the charcoal canister vaccume line and apparently it works?
  4. Thankyou lol, finally the answer i was looking for XD any places i can get a hose tail fitting from that u know of?
  5. hey again guys, what i basically need to know is if its possible to run the controller from the manifold. i dont have any nipples on my cooler piping or cooler itself so the manifold is my only source of vacuume. the stock solenoid isnt fitted to the car. how ive got it there is manifold>boost controller>wastegate actuator with a T-peice going to the bov before the controller. am i able to leach vacumme from the pipe comming from the charcoal canister? to run the boost controller or is that just a stupid idea lol?
  6. k..so how can i set it up to make it work? im getting tired of having to watch my boost guage like a hawk to make sure im not over boosting.
  7. heres a pic of the setup. should make it easier to see where im going wrong.
  8. hey, do you know him too lol? do you live around belmont? yeah i used to have a fake GTR badge on my 33 too LMAO i pulled it off a while ago XD is just gay...
  9. hey guys, one of my mates who owns a R32 recently had a close encounter with a pole while testing his drift skills -.-" just thought i'd post this up to try stop other people who may want to test theirs as a reminder as what can happen. now my mate got off lucky this time but if he didnt have luck on his size the car would of been toast here is a picture of where the car ended up and just how close he came to almost hurting his 32 -.-" i dont in any way promote wreckless behavour on the streets. if you want to be the next DK, keep it on the tracks.
  10. hey guys ive just hooked up my turbo smart boost tee today and its not working at all.... ive got unlimited boost with the screw adjuster on full minimum... -.- any clue on what could cause this?
  11. hmm, -water leaking into boot through tail lights despite my fail attempts at sealing it.. -stock engine -various engine leaks, sump, turbo return hose, head return pipe...possible rear main...etc.. -gets to 10pound boost and dies in the ass... -l/h/f strut maybe bent so my wheels slowly eating my front bar everytime i got full lock... -constantly pulls left (see above) thats bout it... oh and still has back seats making it capible of carrying more than 1 passenger..... BIG FAIL
  12. sorry guys umm this is basically what ive got atm. turbo back 3inch? exhaust its big and loud anyway boosted to 10psi with a turbosmart boost tee (doesnt really like it alot so i never actually boost it that high) Fmic pod filter a/m Fuel pump Short Shifter kit (wont make it faster but its still an upgrade =P) thats bout it, other than that she's a rock not really sure on my budget, im not rich so cheapish but still decent would be nice lol. to give you an idea im a 3rd yr apprentice mechanic so not really on the big bucks.. im not so much into increasing my top end as im not into the whole go super fast idea lol, i'd prefer to look after my engine, never really rev over 3-1/2>4grand tops before changing, i'd much rather more low/mid range power which would be super usable to me.
  13. hey guys, ive got a R33 gtst S1. im looking to start modifying the engine to try gain a bit more usable hp, just really unsure on where to start, what to get and where i can get it and cost of course. if people could perhaps post up the sort of things i should be looking into upgrading that isnt going to kill my wallet and give me a bit more power without stressing the engine that'd be great. cheers =] chris
  14. Thrust Bearing (most likely, mines noisey its like a sqeaky noise yeah?) Input Shaft Bearing (unlikely) Spiggot Bearing (unlikely) Twin Plate Noise (could be) thats all ive got
  15. Man to be honest before i brought my skyline i was just like you, 18, wanted to be the next drift king/go crazy fast hyped up on f.a.t.f. but since i got my license and my R33 my whole attitude changed. now im just glad i have one i respect the car for the icon that it is, seriously dude like take a long think about it if you wanna go out and be a total fruit loop dont buy a skyline cause if/when you do eventually smack a curb/pole/tree/car you can say goodbye to your skyline coz you wont be able to aford to repair it, parts are crazy prices (trust me i work at nissan) and in the end its just not worth it. but if you are set on a skyline then atleast dont do stupid shit on the roads, take it to the tracks or somthing. and remember, everytime you do a dounut/drift/standstill, its doing your engine/various other parts damage by putting them under excessive load. in the end its your wallet thats going to suffer so my advice to you is if you get one, look after it. just my 2cents.
  16. lol. thats hardly practical, yet still amusing i really want to get this dam thing working. im leaning more towards replacing the switch and seeing how i go as thats really the only thing that could be stopping it from working... ok so 1.Fuse-ok 2.condition of defogger wires- ok 3.switch-who know's.. 4.power to switch- how can i test this?
  17. cheers mate! i was just looking for one today lol.
  18. yea man theres a button next to your hazzard light button. umm ok so pretty much this is the go, the button has a light on it and yeah its not lighting up when i press it hence it not working, any chance it could just be the switch? hmm... this is such a pain in the ass...so it runs from the fuse to the switch then from the switch it runs the current to the defogger lines yeah? i really need to fix this as i might aswel not have a back window atm lol.
  19. hey guys, as i said the rear window defogger isnt working right when i need it most -.-.. ive checked fuses and all are ok. ive unplugged the switch connection and cleaned it out so now ive come to this as ive run out of idea's and dont know where the bloody thing is in the car! XD its a R33 gtst. any comments reguarding testing and location of the defogger its self would be great cheers, Chris.
  20. hey guys, i got pulled over last night for a routine inspection of my r33 -.- (due to me being on my P's and such) anyway, the cop asked if i had a permit for my pod filter I was under the impression that if its got a heat shield and is bolted firm to the body its all legal and a permit is not required If someone could clear this up for me that'd be great! Cheers Chris.
  21. hey man, ive got a skyline and am on my P plates. i went with justcars, cost me $500 for 3rd party fire and theft. thats about as cheap as your going to get if you want to insure it. fully comp is $3000 lol, naturally i went the cheaper option.
  22. when you clutch in to change up/down a gear, you hear a noise followed by your clutch pedal hitting the floor your ability to select gears goes out the window and your stuck in some random area. -.- just experienced this earlier today. bunny hopped it in gear to get it going and 1st geared it all the way home
  23. there is one place, i cant remember the name but total nissan in cannington use them and they are awesome! (had my $80 GTR key cut by them with no probs) cant remember the cost per key but it wasnt too expencive and they did a awesome job! anyways umm if i can think of the name i'll let you know
