  1. i did like it, have lived here all my life up untill the last 2 yrs.....came back for a week and got beaten up by a bunch of dickless wonders............everywhere sucks, the countries gone to shit......since when has beating up on people been a good past time for a thursday night.....or any other night for that matter, seems a daily occurance
  2. hee hee, funny thread. any of those old crappy black rims with the red line around the edge, 3 spokes (only a boat or a supra...same thing) looks good with big 3 spokes. and worst of all....its been said a few times...veilside kit.....what the truck were they thinking? it doesnt suit any line on a skyline. on that note, anyone know a car that does look good with a vielside kit?
  3. clark rubber do basic car carpets, black charcoal etc, nothing fancy, but its car stuff
  4. yeah i know the idea behind the hydro-lock, but as i stated i dont think ive ever seen it happen to a petrol engine. ive drivin many a bush basher thru water fed it water, and all sorts of bad things. but i guess they were busted old cars not turbo skylines. your right, a running engine drinking water, and a stationary trying to start with water is 2 very different things. but i seriously didnt think it would have cause that amount of damage straight up. mustve beena hell of a gulp of water to cause that. pics didnt load yesterday, just seeing the conrods...OMG theyre fudged. i also agree with you going for the rebuild rather than the second hand new engine. hope its all up and running again "....took me a few minutes to start it up again but the damage was already done..." is the only line that made me write my little speel there. on a related note, is there a way of doing a CIA without the risk of drinkin water? a drain of some sort?
  5. wow, its not the government taking your money to waste on building dodgy roads, its a couple of bucks to support the forums...if you use em that much and a portion of your income comes from it whats wrong with paying a little rent? ill be donating soon just cause i love these forums, you guys are doing a fantastic job, best skyline forums around. helped this newb out alot.
  6. i know its an old thread but. after reading this thread top to bottom im kinda stumped.....i didnt realise petrol engines were as bad for this as diesels (diesel + water = busted) no one knows enough about engines to NOT try and turn them over when full of water? having said that, my bro's angry bug got some water while parked ( open engine lid). he tryed starting it, got half a turn it stopped.... then he did the smart thing, rather than just forcing it till it goes, he stripped it down got the water out and its fine and dandy ( but it is an old dinosaur not a skyline). still running almost 10:1 compression though. for future reference, if your car drinks water TURN IT OFF, and dont try starting it again, till your sure where the water is. even if that means getting it towed home. sry just my 2c ps, sry to hear though mate, couldnt imagine forking out the cash for a new engine.
  7. yeah do it, if the yellow comes back real fast, do the sanding job, just be careful. sandpaper can be very unforgiving.
  8. and it looks neater not having spark plug leads .id say the only reason they put out 10kw more is cause they are actually new. im sure a thousand dollar set of origonal nissan ones will do the same job brand new. i too have wrapped and gooed my coils, didnt have much of an issue..only on cold cold nights whent he engine is cold. fixed em good
  9. i was told to go asus too......but am far from impressed, ive had my asus laptop now for almost 2 yrs, twas ok then, pretty crap now. but its always had heat issues and the ATI vid card keeps having errors. also the lid lock mechanism broke somehow. the DVD drive is rubish as it doesnt read or do anything with half the discs i shove in it. and battery life is shocking the moment the video card has a think, so its always plugged in. and last but not least, cause it was one of those 1gig ram laptops with vista......my old 6 yr old desktop is faster.....(my own silly fault for not getting the free downgrade to XP when it was avaliable). my vote would be, unless your taking it around everywhere all the time, get a desktop. more bang for your buck, and 1500 would build a nice machine.
  10. thought about doing this........but after reading the whole thread, which seemed simple till i started reading.......wow what an ass around. ima get real coils for mine even if they are super spark or something like that. havent heard to many bad things about em and they all have warenties
  11. i think the idea of taking the time to rub it back with fine fine sand paper, or the toothpaste, or both is to remove the yellow, not just make it shiney till its gone. sanding them back as he has will make the yellow stay away alot longer than just polishing them up. when i bought my car they just polished them up with the car, worked fine, but came back fast. since then ive sanded and polished mine too. months later still looks sweeeet.
  12. sweet cheers again guys for all the helps
  13. IE=crap, firefox is much faster
  14. Wow they kept that under wraps long enough, saw it advertised in the shops the other day for the first time, $499 is a good price, ovbviously Sony listened to activision, even games ive noticed are already cheaper. lol at 360 fan boys, always have to pay out how little thier friends use thier PS3's......as if xbox players would alow themselves to have playstation friends. PS3 all the way for me as i love the controller, everyone I know has their Xbox in the spare room, and the PS3 in the lounge cause it can play Blue rays straight out of the box BigDirtyJase has hit it on the head. personal prefference ftw
  15. i went thru umart, but the did charge me the postage to and from seagate, so i'd assume it SHOULD be straght from seagate, but who knows really it seems newer details as follows barracuda 7200.12 ST3750528AS 750gb firmware cc35 date code 09517 unfortunately i dont have the old one to refer to but it does seem newer and i couldnt find anything relevant to this drive on the seagate site
  16. yeah mine fell exactly in that time frame, and i guess i cant blaim the brand for the one batch. just got my warranty replacement one. So i'd assume the firmware is updated on the new one then?
  17. 19th is the first day of the holidays so i might seeyas while heading the other way on my way to the coast if so i'll wave and carry on like a fool
  18. oooo, if thats during the schoool holidays count me in, the GF and i will be back near the coast at that time so im keen mustard keen. havent been on a cruise with others for a long time.
  19. spotted a bunch of nice skylines on the way too/at/and on the way home from Jambo. most obvious was 85URK, r32na (i was parked in the same row as you guys on sunday) a white r33 with white wheels also nearby, and what appeareed to be an uber low 32gtr on stock 33 gtst wheels. half of you prob saw me, but i was in my kombi not my skyrine (big yellow VW van thats loud and slow and covered in green sign writing)
  20. thanks Nismoid i had no idea. looks exactly like my problem. this will be the last seagate i buy after reading that thread
  21. just talking about overclocking the cpu ram etc, not the drives. just simple stuff. thanks D C, thats what i thought. What firmware issues? i havent seen anything about it, got any links? and wtf, did i just send away a perfectly good HDD? it worked great for 5 months, why would it change over night? and why would it stop any other sata drives from working? i am confused
  22. as the topic suggests. does overclocking mess with the voltages or anything to do with the HDD? mine was only 5 mnths old and totally died. to the point the comp wouldnt boot without unplugging the HDD. even tryed it in a friends comp as the slave, and it wouldnt boot either. thinkin its had an epic brain fart, and just shorts anything it goes near ideas? itsa 750gig seagate barracuda
  23. 3 days? im sure its only 2. the back car park is the place to go, that front one is just stupidly full and slow, and the back one is closer to the track if you are going for both days, make sure you buy your tickets online, as they will not be selling 2 day passes at the door this year
  24. anyone heading to Jambo? ill be there, but not in my car. ill be in my mates import (surf)
  25. yeah i figured that much, but unless your doing uber performance work, you dont need to pay huge amounts of money for a few more features, the programs that come with the ECUtalk are pretty extensive anyways. from idle adjustments, to turning off cylinders, pulseing solenoids to check for voltage drop, etc etc. although the programs are a bit twitchy, but for free im not complaining (that could be vista too)
