    Buying A R35

Yeah, and no LCT either and that adds to something like 25K or so on top of 108K, so its still near 140K.

    My R35

I don't think the problem is so much them braking, but the whole car on 4 skinny posts with fairly small base could just topple over sooner or later. Regardless, knowing you are a careful man I still congratulate you on the effort. There is nothing quite as satisfying as working on your own car.
  3. I guess softer springs would be one of the major differences in the "other little things" - mechanical differences.
  4. Guys, Except Bridgestones and Dunlops that come on GT-R as std equipment, are there any other tyres that suit the R35, road tyres? I find it hard to believe that companies like Michelin, BFGoodrich or Pirelli etc do not have anything that can suit the R35.
  5. 11 R35 GT-R currently on carsales website. hmmm, maybe you should contact the two sellers selling their JDM's on carsales - they are both asking 185K, and it doesn't even include the on-road cost like stamp duty. This will end up more like $192,000 - that's quite steep if you ask me.
  6. That's an absolute nonsense - paying 20K to drive a car for 1/12th of the year, possibly less if there is some servicing involved within that month. You'd be better to invest the money, or buy yourself a brand new 1000cc sportsbike if you crave the performance that much - and it will do 0-100 and 1/4mile quicker than the big beast GT-R.
  7. 3/4 view looks great, but straight from the front looks wrong.

    Love The Beast

Jim, I presume it will need a roll cage before you can get any faster - in the 10's, damn, that's impressive for a minor-ish mods. Great job guys - definitely very close to the fastest R35, 10.48s or so the US R35.
  9. If you check the result the poll recognises this as a vote, not a valid vote though, null vote. Its just how its setup, nothing with me dude.
  10. I reckon the car is stolen in EU somewhere and probably just driven in Russia like this - "what Audi mate, its a BMW, can't you see, here, go away take 100 Rubles with you"
  11. Damn right - which makes me think that the R35 GT-R is the ultimate expression of the midlife crisis hehehe. This is prolly not true for USA or Jap since the price there is much better aligned with earnings of the majority of younger enthusiasts, but in Oz - 40+ year olds will be a great majority of owners.
  12. Oops, just noticed that my poll doesn't account for 45-50 year olds - oh well, put the age that you feel like, if you are in the missing bracket. I know some people in late 40's that feel like 25 year olds but some look and feel like they are 70 hehehe.
  13. They've clearly seen the light when the "Beast R35" came out
  14. Not a scientific poll, but have a go.
  15. Oh well, actually starting this topic was an error, so instead of deleting a topic I created another poll.
  16. Bump.
  17. My rough guess, judging from the poll results, is that less than 20% of Oz R35 GT-R owners are regular forum visitors.

    Servicing Fees

This is nonsense - 1000per track day just for some silly "check" hehehe. Flushing brake fluid - hmmm, I'm sure you can do it for less than 370.
  19. Yeah - forgot about hot pink option. Oh well, just respond what was the OEM colour then
  20. But unexpected to see red and white leading the way so far in the poll
  21. Here you go.
  22. I did hear a few month now that DD will be removed in at least one Oz state, pretty sure they said it was New South, but looks like that goss was incorrect. My point is that dealer already makes money if he sells at RRP + (SD and Reg), so what the hell is the DD for I just love the yanks approach - sell at RRP or even below RRP or we won't do business hehehe. PS: I just saw an add - the Vic dealer wants 21K for DD. 187K on the road - you gotta be kidding me. Are these people for real. Anyways, rant over.
  23. This all makes sense Gibbo. Sometimes it just makes me think that the Yanks are just bloody good negotiators. Is the dealer deliver that really bothers me though - wash and prep, that will be 15K Sir-jeeeezz. 160K is a decent deal IMO, everyone wins, dealer and the buyers, plus the numbers we get will be greater too.
  24. Just stumbled across this thread at NAGTROC - and the thing I notice the most is that GT-R's there get sold at RRP, or at least people shop around as much as possible to get it at RRP. People really try to get it as cheap as possible. Comparing with the thread on this forum that had buyers list their driveaway prices, the prices that are 15-20K higher than our RRP for the car. Just wondering - the strength is in number, why can't people just hit the dealers hard to bring the prices low as possible. PS: this is the thread where a US dealer got blasted by a number of members for offering an GT-R for a markup that would be acceptable for buyers in OZ, no questions asked: Dealer offer to US buyers at NAGTROC
  25. ......and the wheels are what: 26" hehehe, what a caricature.
