Wats The Best Air Filter If I Keep My Air Box ?
Nic_A31 replied to perthute's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
+1 for trendy brand names, making your R33 GTST different from the rest... Keep the snorkel and top half of the air box, and get a pod filter, then you get a dardy whoosh sound AND cold air....then you get all the ladies, boys and 'ladie bois'...but you'll be flying by too fast to stop and pick them up. Don't really see the point in the pod if you get rid of cold air. Close to no performance difference between sucking in lots of hot air, or less amounts of cold air, it doesnt even look cool. -
GOT IT, nevermind that, had to fiddle with the number: VIN CODE: ER34 006543 MODEL: GGKBRTAR34UDAAJJE MODEL SERIES: R34 PRODUCTION YEAR / MONTH: 98 / 06 COLOR CODE: KV2 INTERIOR COLOR: G RB25DET HICAS, RWD 25 GTT 2K (not sure what this means...in the same field, my Cefiro is reffered to as "S", others are SE-4, VL, etc) AUTOMATIC, 4 SPEED

Nissan FAST is all over the web for download via Torrents. Its a massive download, there is a thread somewhere on this forum called "VINs you want "fasted" ", search for that, OR send me the numbers and I'll try and get around to checking it.

Dunno about the sticker....it should be a plate still, stickers can be lost pretty easily. Imports are cheap, but the importing costs like customs, rego, compliance, etc all add up. You can enter the VIN or model number into software called Nissan FAST to see what setup it had at the factory, or ring Nissan with the engine number and see if it was a factory turbo. There's no harm in bolting on turbo's as long as no corner's are cut - its a pretty common conversion in almost any import.

Good opportunity to replace the bushes while you've got the room, look into that. Tools: socket set, and if the springs arent already on, spring compressors as well. Fitting them is almost as east as 1..2..3.....except its: 1..2..3..4 ...

Skyline R33 Gts Vs S15 Autech
Nic_A31 replied to smiley513's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Its not about power, its power-to-weight, the S15 might not have the same numbers but you can bet it'd be just as fast, likely faster. Havent been in the driver's seat of a 15 but I imagine they handle alot better than R33s as well. It'd be cheaper on rego, insurance, running costs, etc... and I think there's too many 33s running around. You could get more power avenue out of the R33, being a 6 cylinder, you'll always have quicker response before boost, bigger displacement also helps, and there's a few more parts around for the RBs than the SRs. Take both for a test drive - its the car you want - not us. Whichever one you like better. As Kristian said, at that kind of figure, consider the R34 instead of the R33, but then it becomes a harder decision to make -
How Many Cefiro's Have You Seen On The Street?
Nic_A31 replied to Ceffy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
That Ceffy isnt actually registered is it? If it is....sell it to me. -
Given up on this. So, it seems I was wrong to have a hobby, everybody just bitches and whinges when you have a car that isnt running. I think having not started the engine in 3-4 months isnt looking good, and having it jacked up unevenly has done some serious damage. Mainly I can't find the room in the shed, the funds, or the motivation to keep this thing, so its unadvertised, but is for sale, if I can pull enough cash for it to cover most of my losses, its gone, if not, I'll keep it and see what I can do. If it IS bent/warped, I'll get a rolling shell, take all the straight panels, sunroof etc off this one, and the engine, cradle, box, all the good shit, and poor it into a straight shell....BUT, that's going to be a while away, I'll be amazed if I can actually sell this cursed piece of shit. Game over...probably.

How does a Dyno help diagnose the said problem?

Was going to order HSDs, buut i figured a couple hundred extra wont hurt, Tein's it is. Decent spring rates and enough damper to play with. Budgeted up my remaining shit the other night, only need another $3000 before she's on the road

Looks good man, I saw pics of the Laurel with Ceffy front end before and was going to suggest you match the lining on the fenders to the Laurel body..but...you already have. Thumbs up from me
-
Yeah, dont advertise it man, sell it via word of mouth, there are too many idiots around (without self contradiction, on sites like this one), that know nothing about Ceffies and wont appreciate them. Got a PM from a guy who works at the auto shop in Midland Gate, turns out THEY are selling Monkey Warehouse gear, I did say end of this month I'd order, BUT I've been foolish with my cash, so after I've paid rent + loan + rego + coilovers + clutch cylinder, I'm going to be begging for change and selling myself, so it'll be end of next month (that only leaves 5 stud + wheels + brake fitment to worry about, then its running again, getting close now) URAS / Monkey Warehouse / Origin / Woder, all look the same, East Bear and Diana look the same, the only distinct ones are Final Konnexion (sp?) (one of those in Aus, and I dont fancy transport costs), and DMAX Pics of DMAX and Diana here, for reference. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/A3...ve-t188885.html I'll bump this thread once I've got a kit happening. Cheers boys and girls.

Nissan Gas Struts
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
SOLD!!! Quickest sale ever. -
Its only gay if you drive a WRX, otherwise its just a straight bloke driving a car
-
How much of the steering setup? As far as I know, that can all be ripped off an S13, likewise the suspension is the same as S13 Silvia. I have suspension if you need it badly enough to justify shipping from Perth costs. Front is lowered a bit, probably chopped, look in my build thread to see height clearance.

They sound like 2 men having sex....
-
Hey boys and girls, I replaced my struts with Monroe (dunno why I did this, seing as it cost me close to $100, were as re-gassing the Nissan ones would cost me like $10) SO, these ones are up for grabs NOTE: NEED RE-GASSING They were half working when I got the car in June, but since then I've used a big stick to hold the bonnet up, so they havent been under any strain since they went out. Genuine Nissan parts, like, with the logo and Japanese writing, they're SOO JDM you'll bleed through your ears. $20 + POSTAGE Pics Nic

Eoi: Perth Cefiros Ahg
Nic_A31 replied to Angr33_Sparcorella's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I say we all pitch in and buy Nathan a membership before he drives another Ceffy through a pole ? hahaha just kidding buddy, BUT, keep it on the track I'll get into drifting once my Ceffy is running...that 2 way makes "driving" the ceffy too tempting. -
Eoi: Perth Cefiros Ahg
Nic_A31 replied to Angr33_Sparcorella's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
That AHG shit is for pussies and SAUWA members, book a day at Barbagallo and count me in. Theres like....4 of us now, since Rowan (Mr Eps) is selling up, Jason and Nathan are probably more keen on Barbs than AHG too. Could hit up DriftWA and Antilag and ask around, see if you can get in contact with Ceffy owner's that arent on forums, wouldnt be that hard considering there's only about 10, tops. -
LOL another classic SAUWA moment
-
Yeah, WRX was owning until it BROKE.

Does that mean Commodores are the greatest car ever? seing as there are more of them than any other car on the road ? no, it means theyre cheap, and for knuckleheads. Hahah, just kidding. I dont exactly hate the R33, I just think theyre the least appealing, and too many of them...I reckon Japan would take some back if we offered. So, you're comparing a NON-STI to... not only a GTR but a GTR V Spec...that make the battle even more unfair. Disregarding such obvious advantages is like being stubborn and insisting your Civic runs 11 seconds without NoS...only in the movies buddy Other pro's / cons: Probably just as cheap to insure and run the GTR Better response from 6 cylinders, and displacement AWD system is much better You'll probably find more support (and social acceptance) for the GTR on forums EDIT: Of course, this is all assuming you want power and performance, not hair gel and nasal delivery....
