  1. Why do you say its a bad idea?
  2. brake coolant :s what the hell is that??? i would change every fluid. lucien mentioned them all also i would do the fuel filter, timing belt - why not upgrade water pump to n1 spec whilst doing this?, check all belts, (if not obvious that it has been done ie service history) my car will be in my hands i think in a week, and ill be doing that all, through a week(after work and on a saturday). compression test is easy enough to do yourself(someone really should write a tutorial about it) and can be done when changing spark plugs. maybe even drop it into nissan and get them to hook up consult to it(haha i work at nissan free use for me )
  3. consult your local rta? but i woudl also like to know the end result
  4. what about put a r33 gearbox behind it? they are basically a 2wd GTR box and alot of high powered r32s do the conversion.
  5. looks like its time to either get a remote oil filter set up, or, do as most other people do, and get it from underneath the car
  6. im keen, do you guys offer warrenty, also im after limo tint 5% light or whatever its called. the darkest imaginable., but wont be for a couple of weeks? is this ok Michael
  7. Hey, im looking for a set of pod filters for a gtr, as my car came in with some little funnel type things(no filter). -these should bolt up to z32 afms? also, if anyone has some 18 tyres with legal tread, pm me cheers Michael
  8. as my car is in compliance, ive been trying to figure out everything that is on it, ive got a pic of this fuel rail thats on it, but cant find anything on the net about this one, i think its possible its an older style HKS rail, but there is no markings(brand names) on it. also, having a fuel rail, woudl lead me to beleive there aftermarket injectors, however they have green tips on them, ithought they were stock rb26 items? the markings on the fuel rail are : BNR32/SP cheers Michael
  9. oh no, i inspected my soon to be available from compliance gtr the other day, and its like 6 or 7cm ground clearence.. and the suspension is not height adjustable
  10. from everything i have heard/ read and am going through atm with my car, the car can be complied in any state, however, you must have an engineers cert for the state you plan to register. for eg, im getting car complied in qld, and the price aparently includes qld engineers, but i said i need nsw cert as i live in nsw. and he said he will have to organise it. i cannot walk into RTA and say i want this car registered, here is my qld mod plate for compliance.
  11. we have a few different ones at work, we have 3x two posters, there all molnar, but one is older, with stupid safety feature that manually locks in, the other two are newer, with no ground interference, you do see the arms flex a little if you use them to full extension. they have unbuilt safety, the tafe i go to just got one of these installed about a month ago. the otehr at work are stupid 'belly' hoists, and we have a 4 poster. i would go for 2 poster as its so much easier to work on the cars. 4 poster is good if you want to raise and inspect, but a bitch to get wheels off
  12. the price difference doesnt have much to do with what actually is done, its like saying, sydney people get same fuel as ther places why is it so dear.. because your a highly populated area and as a group (all compliancers) figure theyc an charge more, as you can afford it.
  13. alright, well i inspected my car at compliance shop(cbf doing it myself). mm, yeh engine isnt 100%, but we will see what the problem is tomorow when i go back up.. the clutch feels like prolly a twinplate. might be triple, but not worried either way, for some reason the gearbox feels really tight, as if maybe upgraded selectors? :S only remembered to take one of the body. and well yeh its filthy so i cbf postin.
  14. Sydney kid, yeh i will be changing the plugs tomorow, something i noticed also, was the timing is fairly advanced. i will take some tools up tomorow(felt bad asking for even a screwdrivr) and have a look inside the ecu for some sort of chip, once complied it will be on the dyno, im curious to wether go all out and get a power fc to be safe if the plugs dont solve anything
  15. hey, today i inspected my r32 gtr that was just imported, it appears to have a large garrett turbo, and twin z32 afms, however on inspection could not find any aftermarket ecu, the stock on is pluged in, with no sign of a piggy back unit. now, when we start car up, it idles sh*t, it does idle, and is lumpy, but its on 5 cylinders, im going back tomorow to do a comp test and change the plugs, my question basically is, would the z32 afms have conflict with the stock ecu? could this be a problem (yes it appears imlooking for a cheap solution to a possible rebuild) but im not, im basically asking questions that could have cheap fix, rather then putting new rings etc in it and finding out the ecu was problem after all cheers Michael
  16. yes, smaller headgasket will inscrease cr, however, thinner gasket will reduce in strength, correct me if im wrong(sydney kid), but wouldnt it be advisable, to shave the head, and use a thicker gasket for strength?
  17. with the prices you posted up above for a guide, are they for carbon top layer? i would be very close to purchasing a boot lid/ bonet(depending on style with vent), and possibly doors with lexcen, but would need definate price on all first.
  18. if it was complied under raws/sevs scheme, you shoudl be able to walk in with documents and get it blue slipped, have you tried taking it to a different mechanic?
  19. i would just like to point this out, the snap on seat covers were designed not for the general public to use as every day items, they were made for mechanics or people in the auto trade to slip on and off as we get in and out of a customers cars. in general thats the reason i have myn, i only use it on my car to and from work. on a side note - wurth products are awesome, especially there brake cleaner and the brake cleaner pump bottles,
  20. why not get the blank ones from the markets and get them embroidered? i borrowed a mates snap on one from work, and my mum went to spotlight and made me one in same material in black, for $10 in material SCORE!
