    New Clutch

umm i dunno if its much assistance but i have a os giken triple that is old and will be rebuilt through dan.. he is the man.. and well he is a genuine bloke (not in it solely for dollars)
  7. i hate that too.. in next sorta town from were ilive is half old people and half young familys.. i guess the young familys rekon every driver on the road is old people and dont mind if they just walk over the road when ever.. so i now make it a point of coming as close to a pedestrian as possible.. this is also in car parks... CARS STILL HAVE RIGHT OF WAY... what ever happened to look left and right before walking?
  8. hey guys, im getting a stuttering type noise coming from power steering, when i turn left in my r32 gtr, firstly. its only when turningleft. not right... and its only turning left from straight (ie doesnt do it after youve turned right and are straightening the wheel)... also, it doesnt do it on a stand still (which you would think it should as there is most resistance to the ps when vehicle stationary) so.. is it the pump? or the rack? im leaning towards the rack. as it would sound to me like a variation in pressure... the pump coul dbe at fault, but my thinking would lead me to if it was the pump, it should make the noise both ways. which it is not doing.. any info is greatly appreciated. cheers\ Michael
  9. you could try reading the tres thread in sticky ppart of this section, but the general concensous is that hankooks are fine, along with teh federals, altho, no federals in qld at all in 255/25 r18. and not sure when there getting them next, so i got 265/35 r18 and paid $242 a peice fitted balanced etc
  10. altho ive had my tyres for all of 2days and there not warn in, i could definatly feel the difference between these and the cracked old jap spec bridgestones i had on it, the car just feels alot more solid on the road. but meh, will update in a few weeks
  11. has anyone had any problms with power steering pump? i used to own a gtst and when i fitted adj. castor rods and wound them out(was a few yrs back but i think they were sset to about 8°) the power steering assembly would make horrible noise anythin near lock, and then steering would get heavy if you had to turn a few tight corners(20min city drive etc), so i got them to lessen it and it went away.. with my gtr, (havent had an alignment yet, comes tomorrow), it makes a similar noise, and has adjustable castor rods.. to which ill ask them to reduce the castor by a degree or so.
  12. well after finally deciding upon the recommended federal 595 SS tyres, i called a few local prices (tweed heads) to my suprise, for the size on my car 255/35/r18 the prices ranged from $302 per tyre, $280 per tyre, down to $216 per tyre i have no idea were the first mob came up with $302, as none of the places stock them, all need to be ordered from brissy, needless to say option 3 was a winner, anyway called back and then they went to roder them, but no 255's in stock at all, no idea when next load is coming.. so decided upon 265's (9 inch rim, rather go 265s then 245) anyway price was still only $248 per tyre, this is alot lower then everyone saying $320ish. i braced myself before calling for a higher prices (not being major city such as brisbane, sydney etc). but pleasently suprised.. that is all, i thought i would mention this, as it seems odly low, i even doubled checked the size and model on the phone. Michael
  13. ahh ok kool. well the problem with just leaving box out is that were doing this on a driveway due to lack of work space in garage.so we have to be able to push car in/out as need be. we will prolly be doing it this arvo/night provided the rain stays away. but thanks for your assistance
  14. hrmm, thats what i suspected, but it just doesnt seem to be working ... we didnt need to pull box out, so we didnt. this is on r32 not sure if it would make much diff between 33,34... we will give it another go tomorow nite, the clutch was lined up using tools. however, not sure if spline is 100% correct but nothing that cant be wriggled into it
  15. ok, anyway after some months with my engine out of my gtr, its time to re install.. now, ive searched and searched for the best and most efficient way to do this, with no luck finding anything, i need some assistance we have looked, and cant decide, wether it will be easier to remove one driveshaft? both drivshafts or none? we had a trial run, but were pretty sure we cant get the drivers side driveshaft in, and the clutch lined up with the pass driveshaft as they clash when trying to line up the 2 splines. any advice will be much appreciated and or tips, but please, i want to know definate ways, not just , well i think it will be easier because in my mind it would work that way, i want people to reply who have put the engine back in etc
  16. from what i have been led to beleive, h beams are stronger but heavier. this would also be common logic i thought too.
  17. MR turbo aparently is good ( was told this for my turbo rebuild) , GCG have a good reputation, but for being in sydney and me on gold coast, i think mr turbo will do.

i work at nissan, and as far as i know(99% sure) they are a liscenced scan tool, only for nissan dealers, so if someone was willing to sell you one, either there breaking the contract they have with nissan as genuine service department, or they stole one. either way, they are not cheap, even when bought genuinly Michael
  19. hahaha yeh its on the list of things to do , ps, you only have to buy 2 tyres, i need 4
  20. Thanks Rezz, all i could find was links to the go kart company i thought i found a link to a site that i figured was rs yamamoto (car tuners), but it wouldnt load. my car would seem to be build by them/ if not owned by them at some stage. it also apears to be an ex circut racer
  21. should be able to take off the under tray and brake duct to get to them, this is how i get to my oil filter which has been relocated to this position
  22. Hey all, i have a badge on the back of my car that is RS yamamoto, also a badge inside the car would indicate likely been built by them, and after inspection by a few friends in the know, anyway, ive searched many times on the internet and forums for this brand, failing to find anything on the company itself, if any of you have any links, can you please share them much appreciated Michael
  23. How long is your breaker bar? failing to budge it try and use an oxy to heat it up, weve done it many times at work to patrols/navaras and the like, by the way i hope you checked you could get the filler plug open first
