  1. true you wont do what youve stated above for 30k if your buying new parts and paying someone to do any part oif it , tunning, install etc. What else other than a quaffe/holinger can you poke 420rwkwrwk through without it turning inside out in a race car if the car setup to put it to the ground.
  2. In my humble opinion if you tune your 3lt to make peak torque across the entire rpm range it will be a much more difficult car to drive, the sheer amount of torque that the three litre can develop at 3000/4800 rpm in an area where the boost is rapidly rising to target wastegate pressure will break the tyre contact patch, assuming your car is not FBW throttle then timing and boost are the only means of controling the power in the mid range. To tune to peak torque above this area and maintain peak torque for as long as possible is the key to tunning any engine. Look to making modifications to the rear geometry as even the 33 has way to much anti squat in the rear to work with radial r tyre, which will make putting any more than 380rwkw to the ground through a radial challenging. In my 32 it is a faster car with 490rwk even at a tight circuit like baskerville, as long as the power is controllable and follows throttle request (well as well as you could expect a turbo car to). There are large gains to be had in FBW throttle mapping getting rid of all waste throttle, ie only requesting 40% of plate opening if peak torque can be generated at this opening as this means a pedal reduction of 2% yeilds a reduction of horse power, increasing actual fly opening as rpm increases allways only requesting the min value to net max engine power at given rpm. Gear dependant boost pressure will also help and the holinger and quieff boxes have a voltage output making setting this function up very straight foward. cheers brad
  3. it appears they will cope 490 rwkw in a circuit car, they wont without 12mm head studs, as the 11mm studs grow a little longer at 30 pound with 9.5 static comp at a wee bit over 500 at the tyres
  4. how many dollars?
  5. how strong is a 25 block? what is the most rwkw anyone has made using an rb25 block?? who has split a bore or pulled the block webbing out of one?
  6. confirmed and paid

  8. woolly the oils to scared when your making 500rwkw to leave home...either that or the catch tanks filled with alpackers
  9. The gtr cover has the entry for the escaping air (blow by) toward the front of the cover (internally under the cover), when under boost the majority of the oil in the head is forced to the rear of the rocker caverty allowing the blowby to escape out with out passing through the pooling oil, then along the cover above the baffle plate to the fittings at the back and out into the breather hoses. The 20/25 covers have the exit path at the rear (internally on the under side), which when under acceleration is where the pooling oil is collecting and a portion of oil is carried with the escaping blowby (i believe under extreme cases blow by has to pass through the oil) and the stays in suspension and is then carried foward out into the hoses. yes your correct ben as the extra height is a bonus

  13. HAS ANY USED THE SUPER TECH HYDRALIC SPRING AND RETAINER KIT ON A RB25 AT THE INSTALLED SEAT PRESSURE OF 85 POUND COMPARED TO 50 POUND STD SPRING AND TESTED THE VCT TO SEE IF IT STILL OPERATES WITH THE INCREASED SPRING PRESSURE
  14. I dont get on here often but its interesting to see and here different opinions, I had a little drive of wooleys r33 on saturday and its an awsome thing, the engine feels like a rolls, royce merlin and lee is a really nice guy to boot.. There is no doubt that nunny is one talented guy and i certainly wish i had the talent he has in his little toe, The only bit that perplexes me is Damo your in and out of my shop every week and i dont remember ever hiding or covering anything up, my car sits on the hoist nearly every day for anyone to strowl under.
