  1. I have a brand new 430W Thermaltake PSU for sale for a cheap $50 if anyone is interested - awesome PSU
  2. yeah mate I'll take you for a burn in it next time we catch up no probs!
  3. There's not that much to hear really mate .... basically I can adjust the ECV from the loudest the exhaust goes, to absolutely silent, and everywhere inbetween. I bought a weld-in style, which Everlast Mufflers at Ridgehaven fitted for about $150 from memory (they have to chop about 15cm of your existing exhaust or dump pipe off to fit it). It took them a good few hours to figure it all out and do the work, but it works a charm. I fitted the in-cabin control cable myself (drilled a small hole in the trans surround and fed it up then mounted it under the dash). I think the ECV cost me around $350 from a sponsor on ns.com
  4. hey Adz - nothing personal whatsoever, but you might want to save up a few of your questions and put them all in a single post .... it is fine for you to be inquisitive and start posts, etc, but when you joined up less than 2 weeks ago, and there are more than 10 of your new topics currently active, I say it is a bit too much. Just a tip. Imagine if every member made 10+ new posts every 2 weeks .... p.s. Vinyls are ghey unless you have a track/drift car, or love being anally reamed by the fuzz every time you go near town/defect hotspots.
  5. I have a HKS Silent Power on my R34 and it is not too loud when idling, but can be noisy under load. The easy answer is install an Apexi ECV, which I did, and I absolutely love it! It makes the car ABSOLUTELY SILENT when near closed, which is great when the party-stoppers are around. I can also highly recommend the Trust Power Extreme II - I have one on my S15 and it is very quiet, but allows good power.
  6. yeah I know what you mean mate .... I wish they did accident/fatality statistics by age of car and/or roadworthiness (ie. assess a car's pre-accident roadworthiness after an accident) and I bet we'd find a startling proportion of accidents and fatalities involve old rusted out cars with bald tyres, rather than our meticulously maintained sports cars with big brakes, high quality suspension and all the safety features under the sun. Drew's accident is a good example - Skyline driver - near complete complete recovery in months, Festiva driver - d.o.a. - and that wasn't a particularly old car either. Don't worry it makes my blood boil too. And I fear if I get pulled over one day when I have clearly done nothing wrong, I will tell the cop what I think of him and why, then get bent over double.
  7. sounds like the gold S14 may be Lawrence's ns.com promo car? I hope not, as if that was defected it would never come off defect.
  8. yeah I haven't minded having it around though - it is damn fun for the occasional race .... I will take her for a last fang tomorrow arvo before the new owner (from Whyalla) comes to pick her up. It will be a sad goodbye. Now I just need an R34GTR and I'll be happy
  9. thanks for the bump mate, but as of tomorrow when I get the cheque it is SOLD!!!
  10. well the official stats are: GTS 13.5 1/4 mile R34GTR 13.7 1/4 mile but with an exhaust and some more boost I would expect a 34 to do a flat 13 pretty easy, same cannot be said for the GTS From Memory Munro's 34GTR did a 12.2 with just exhaust, intake and Power FC You'd need a GTS to be signifcantly worked to do that sort of time.
  11. Adam, the turbo timer in that ad definitely looks like a fake. I have a real one, and it is nowhere near that long, and doesn't come in black. I have heard of many fakes getting about especially on Ebay. I would check the Apexi website to compare pics, as the box doesn't look right either. I paid about $150 for mine some years ago. The turbo timer function of it stopped working after only a year, but the rest of it still works (afr meter = very useful, battery volts, air flow). That said, I wouldn't bother getting a turbo timer at all - like Balck32 said, it is much better for you to drive calmly for the last minute of your journey, than to make your car illegal. Better for your engine too.
  12. well I just got an email back from Goolwa and Stansbury caravan parks and both are fully booked for the whole of January, as it is school holidays (and I'll bet every caravan park is the same). I vote we move it to February.
  13. ah crap nice call .... yes I definitely won't be missing Schitzenfaced! We should do an SAU meet-up again this year (the last 2 years have been awesome) - I might make a new post!
  14. nah didn't adz buy Snake's old one - plus it had different wheels. Haven't had time to chase up the O2 sensor mate - hope to have time tomorrow. A dude on Ebay has then for $88 delivered, so may go that option yet.
  15. I definitely vote against Jan 6-7 (most people end of holidays and still recovering from Xmas/New Year), and Jan 27-28 (Aus Day long weekend - xtra traffic etc plus miss out on the cricket). Either of the other weekends sound good. Victor will be way too busy to get a large group of people accommodated, as likely will Goolwa. Mannum is boring as bat shit, as is Normanville. I vote Stansbury as I have never been there and wouldn't mind checking out the fishing! I have emailed the Stansbury Caravan Park to ask for costs of cabins and availability in Jan. I am sure those that wish to camp can do so next to cabins.
  16. wow that hella looks like Snake's old R33 he just sold!
  17. must have been my look-alike
  18. so does anyone else want an invite to tvtorrents or supertorrents private torrent communities? On tvtorrents you get unbelievable download speeds of all great tv shows (old and new), and Supertorrents has new and old movies, games and all kinds of apps. Obviously in these communities you have to give back what you take (and more) to keep the system going and speeds up, but that is part of the torrent philosophy anyhow. Let me know if you want an invite - I have some to spare.
  19. thanks Luke - I should get one very soon to hopefully fix my fuel usage issues. I take it you just ask for an RB O2 sensor? Do they have a specific thread type or anything? I would imagine that R33 and R34s are the same? Yep a group buy would be good Jared, but unless it was going to be a fair bit cheaper than $99 I wouldn't bother if I was you.
  20. So can anyone get a new O2 sensor for me for a good price? I get around 16.5-17l/100km .... but I do sit idling for 10 minute periods many times a day writing up notes with the a/c on (which is the big reason I am getting a new radiator shortly) .... still that shouldn't affect it that much!
  21. and I'm amazed I don't see either of you - especially since I drive up and down North East Road and surrounds all day every day (not that much during peak hour though which I guess is when you guys are driving it).
  22. So you have basically destroyed the air guide (ie. it can't be resold by Maxx) yet you want a refund? WTF - why didn't you just send it back 'unattacked' .... some people have some nerve!
  23. congrats on the new beast - welcome to R34 4-door world .... another Shaun in a silver 4 door lol Nice to see you got some nice bonuses like side skirts, rear pods and wheels! Pity about the series 2 front bar - I don't know what the hell Nissan were thinking!!! Ah well it's easily fixed with a Nismo copy
  24. My R34 is with Just Cars $1,200 ($30k agreed value) My S15 is with CGU $1,200 (all mods listed and included $35k agreed value) Beware all insurers, as they will always try to find a way to not payout. I have heard some horror stories about Just Cars and Young and Cool ... just make sure you read the fine print - some of the excesses are RIDICULOUS (like $5,000). Oh and Steve - I have NEVER heard of an under 25 y.o. insuring a turbo import for under $1,500! The only reason Chapman's is so cheap is that it is non-turbo I am amazed Shannons came up with $900 - I'd be very dubious and check they are not writing into the fine print some 'must drive under 5,000km per year' or similar clauses that Shannons are famous for.
  25. super sweet mate .... but damn they are just not the same without a GTR wing are they?!
