  1. My rear streets are... possibly legal. It will be fiiiiine. For serious, if you're not planning on smashing any records and you take it easy any set of streets is fine you will just have to rest them every now and again
  2. 9:30? Slack. I'm getting there at 3am just to be sure I'm not late.
  3. Jesus Christ, that's some serious money just in those items. I'll keep an ear out, good luck with it mate

Pretty sure the honourable thing to do is sell it to the person who said they'd buy it first for the agreed on price? Sounds a bit more like greed than honour? Just Sayin'

    Semi Slicks

For those of you who are completely lost, it's actually www.tirerack.com (god damn americans and their stupid english)

    Semi Slicks

Anyone here used tyrerack.com? I've heard a lot of good things about them (and they do post to aus) but don't know anyone directly who has used them. The handling and suspension section has a whole thread on them
  7. I had my front bar off overnight as well, but she's all back together now Seems owning a skyline is a lot of dealing with weird shit the people who owned the car before you did.... I got the consult cable from PLMS Developments, I was a bit wary of the dodgy way of ordering but they were very professional and quick, very happy with the service. I originally went with them as I've heard that other cables (i.e. ECU Talk, ebay randoms) have issues with Nistune due to interference, it was slightly more expensive but (quite possibly) worth it.
  8. What happened to Kermit? Your last rebuild wasn't that long ago was it?! I've had some time off to look after the wife and have had some time to play around with my car (read: I've been neglecting my wife and spending time with my car). I had a look at my boost controller (which I've never touched) and it would appear the people who installed it before I owned the car put it on the wrong way round, on completely the wrong line. Decided I would turn it around, and therefore thought a boost gauge would be in order, installed that this morning I mounted it in my glovebox as I only plan to use it during track work, tuning, or possibly for some geeky gauge action... Found my wifes old eee pc in the cupboard which hadn't been used due to a screwy power supply. Ripped it to pieces, bought a car charger, wiped the drive and started from scratch with a light version of XP. Now it's being used for my carpc, which is pretty cool seeing as it has wifi, storage, media players etc and when plugged into my phone has 3G internetz. Nothing is complete without internetz. I also bought a consult cable, as the long term plan is to get a Nistune chip for a 300zx ECU sitting in the spare room, so got some real time gauges on the screen & full data logging. I haven't ordered the touch screen for it yet, but it's next on the list. Then all I need is to find (or make) a decent touch screen interface for using in the car, I thought about using this one but I'm not so sure... Any suggestions? I finally got around to installing the Shift-i LED lights (thanks zoidbergmerc) which are now set to start at ~4k and flash like crazy for the shift at ~6.5k, which should keep my eyes off the tacho and on the road when at the track. I've put it all together so that I can add/remove everything within 2-3 minutes easily, as I plan to leave all of it off until I head out to the track. No point in extra dials and glam when you're just around town, I'd rather the stock look than racer boy. Check out the pics and tell me what you think Dismantling the the eee pc and car charger (which is now tucked up in my dash) The (almost) finished product
  9. Yeah, I was heading that way last night. What were you doing in town? You on holidays or something?
  10. Unless it was my 80 y/o grandmother in law or my mother it wasn't me lots of carting family members to and from Calvery over the last week. Enjoyable driving peaked at a high of 0.35% Interested to see who it was?
  11. Series 1 with a series 2 wing? I have been out that way a decent amount over the last few days heading in to see the wife in hospital. What were you driving?
  12. Wow, nice turn around time the only R33 gearbox I knew of recently was sold earlier in the week.
  13. Yeah you can hook up a switch which bypasses the fuse to put it back to RWD, but you're still carrying a decent chunk more weight for the AWD system. That being said, if you have a few fat friends you may not even notice I don't know the owner but someone on here would, generally people only interested in burnouts will avoid the AWD versions so maybe you'll get lucky with the engine? As I'm sure you've heard, if you're building from stock and you want something remotely decent it will cost you heaps (HEAPS) more than buying something already built. I almost bought a gts4 about 4 years ago, but pulled out as a once over from brad at boost automotive turned up a lot of issues. If you're up north I'd suggest a good check over before purchase, and take notice of your gearbox when you take a test drive as it's under a bit more stress in AWD's. Also, last piece of obvious and most likely misguided advice, drive skylines you don't want before buying one you do. Come to one of our meet ups or whatever and people will give you a lift I'm sure. Driving some POS skyline would have blown my socks off after a couple of years in a FWD hatch, so make sure it's the real thing, not just a comparison with another type of car

  15. 400r kit, sunroof and that colour. Surely they're picking the cars which stand out the most? This is getting god damned ridiculous.

Is this the cooling pro stealth edition return flow FMIC you posted earlier in the year?
  17. I was trying to look at the engine but was unfortunately blinded by Jack's legs... Damn nice engine mate, you must be happy with that

    Stolen!

That'd do it, I assumed some random had spotted it Always nice to have a good outcome from this kind of crap
  19. If I didn't have a heap of bills coming up (and I could convince the wife) I'd be all over this for a track car... Good luck with the sale, it won't last long

    Stolen!

You sir, are a little strange. Glad to hear they found it, they were pretty fast about respraying it. How did people know it was the same car?
  21. ly frustrated* No offence mate, but is that a massive illuminated dildo you're driving with?!
  22. Take a look around but be sure to take some good roads getting there, there's awesome driving roads around tassie (the vast majority of which you don't need to break any road rules to enjoy). There's good roads all through the state, but sometimes you just need to know where to look As other people said though, don't bother with good twisty tassie roads too much in the middle of summer unless you want to be going 20kmph behind a caravan of caravans.. see what I did there!? I'd say come down in early March or so, the weather hasn't crapped itself completely yet but most people have gone back to the mainland. What were you planning on doing while you're down? Link us up with a Google maps trip like this http://g.co/maps/wtpb3 I'm sure people would be more than happy to offer suggestions by moving the points around to add in some awesome driving roads, there's already some nice ones on there such as the sideling (between launceston and scottsdale) the weldborough pass (between weldborough, duh, and st helends) etc... but to truly get an idea of what roads suit we probably need to find out what you want to see first. If you like cheese and wine, we've got something for that, if you like hookers and blow, we've got something for that, if you want a decent night scene, you might want to go back to the mainland Oh, and for travelling times, Google maps is your sexually active partner of choice with a small word of warning, dirt roads do exist, Google doesn't care if your paint job is ruined. Jay
  23. Her Honda be bitchin'. I saw Elise frying tyres at 95 degrees all the way down the street the other day. Honest to god. (maybe not that honest)
  24. WHAT?! That simply cannot be! Were you on the road or in the crowd? Btw were you down in Huonville on Monday? I was on a cruise with the wife and waved to a R33 the same colour as yours, but had a massive sticker on the back?
