Sunday 7 August - Summary Min 4 Max 10 Shower or two. Cloudy. Isolated showers. Winds southerly averaging 10 to 20 km/h. If the track is patchy wet I'm going to be shitting myself... I don't mind the idea of completely wet but that's only because I will probably cruise around at 40kmph.. Perhaps my stock boat will do okay in the wet? Dropping in my money today, will see how it goes

Nice to know there's 32 unique members (so far) who are interested enough in a club to vote on this, that's a good start on some solid numbers
-
That has most certainly crossed my mind...
-
Thanks mate, I passed on all the other recommendations and the guy took his car into SuperFinish for a quote. They claim they need to replace the entire front bumper and have quoted between $600-$700, which is a bit strange since I didn't even touch the bumper... He's agreed to get another quote, so we'll see what happens after that. If he comes back with anything else that high I might take a couple of photo's I took around and see if I can get some ideas from some bodyworks on my own Jay

Piece of piss, looks like I'll be going along then. Need to spend some time under the car as the rear is feeling a little loose, but should be good And Veeto, I'd lend you mine if I wasn't using it, but.. yeah.. I am surely someone has one banging around?
-
Okay, seriously looking at this now (bit late, but meh...) What's the go with the CAMS Level 2S license? Can you grab one on the day, or is this something I should have worked out a couple of weeks ago and sent off? I think I have everything else ready to go except for a few pieces of plastic so keen to try this out, interested to see how the poor girl goes with two weekends in a row, but completely keen for some more track time Jay
-
I'll be there with bells on, see if I can knock a second off my lap time with some less tarded driving Jay P.S. There will be no bells.

Thread hijacking slightly, but is it just my twisted mind or does that fridge look like it has nipples? Weird shit man, weird.
-
My car is not really, uhmm... time attack material definitely keen to come up and watch/lend a hand, it has been on my list for a while now
-
Yeah mate, I signed up both of the last times (the years membership swapped over between track days). They give you a receipt and then send your actual membership stuff in the mail in the next few weeks
-
It was this old 1980's BMW, the top part was already there and I just knocked off the plastic behind the indicator. If it was my car and it was that age I'd probably be pulling out the super glue, but he will probably want it patched up nicely which is probably fair enough
-
Yeah the only day I drove it in ~3 weeks and knocked the passenger side. Pretty pissed about it all
-
Thanks guys, will have to check them out It's basically just replacing a small piece of plastic, or possibly a new strip around the top of the bumper if they want it all fixed up... My car is in pretty good shape with a small dent on the left rear quarter panel (didn't even take the paint off) so I'll look at getting that out at a slightly later date
-
I can if needed, I think? If you're joining up for the track day you can do it on the day, just bring along some cash and they'll set it all up for you
-
Had a bit of a scrape the other day and unfortunately knocked a piece of plastic off some poor guys bumper, hardly any damage but left a note and now am looking for a good place for him to get a quote etc. so we can get this all fixed and out of the way. Does anyone know of a good, reliable place which is around hobart town/lutana/moonah etc? Even possibly somewhere in battery point/sandy bay as that's where the scrape happened (damn those narrow streets..). I'm kind of hoping they can patch up the bit which was hit rather than replace the entire bumper, but as I've never been through this sort of stuff I have no idea what the go is.. Any help is appreciated Jay
-
Thanks man, will get on to him about that
-
Haha, damn him and his 3 seconds my car came with these oversized, heavy, ridiculous 18 inch wheels and I've been thinking of a good reason to buy some others ever since, just can't justify the money outlay when they... Well, they still work. Those two mods are now high on my to buy list, but unfortunately below food and paying the mortgage. Very interested to see what kind of difference you can feel, the power difference is meant to be really noticeable and a nice change. Is he on here or is yet to become epic forum warriors like the rest of us? May have to get on to him about it

Stolen - White R33 Gtst - Keep Eyes And Ears Open !
Clandestine replied to GTR_001's topic in Tasmania
I'll keep an eye out -
Ugh, so up for this... I'm going to have to think about this for sure, especially after pulling out of the regularity, I ended up spending the day trudging around in mud and lugging massive frozen pavers about instead. Good choice. What's the competition generally like? I don't mind having my arse handed to me on a platter with french fried potatoes, but being slightly competitive is always a bit of fun Will read over the regs and actually see what's going on in a sec Jay

Ditto on the shadow and the pick, at a glance the text needs alignment adjustments and a general touch up but the overall concept is exactly what we need
-
I had this same issue on my gtst, but I found after upgrading to whiteline sway bars and a new front strut brace at the next track day I had virtually no understeer and a tiny amount of nice controllable oversteer. Definitely worth upgrading, very cheap and make a heap of difference
-
....did you do that yourself? that looks awesome man, congrats! My dream was always to have a black skyline, I've got the car but it's the wrong shade at the moment
-
I think I may be the only skyline owner in the world without a traffic offense/warning... I've had my car searched for no reason and whatnot but they've always been pretty good about it. I think the standard exhaust helps keep their attention on every other performance car (or commodore) on the road, no one hears you coming and no one notices if you flatten it to get through some oranges that said, exhaust isn't far off on my list if things to buy...

I think if you left off the 'in hobart' bit, I'd agree with you completely Launceston being 'central' is a bit of a weird thing to say, as Launceston is only central to people in the north, whereas Hobart is just as 'central' to the south. If you add the travelling time from large southern towns to Launceston, it's about as long as adding the travelling time from large northern towns. The point people are making is that the population density in the south is larger, and therefore less of the population will need to travel as far Either way it doesn't really matter, the government will do what they want, AFL sucks, and I've got high speed internet if I really want to see a bunch of guys running around touching each other gingerly The main thing I want is for the V8's to be supported in the state.

Probably wait for a few more people to post up, then compile a shortlist of peoples favourites and once we have it down to 4-5 different ones spread it out amongst the different designers to perfect a set of designs. I really like some of the designs above, but to make them perfect each could do with a few more iterations (i.e. sizing isn't exactly right between the different text, colour schemes are fluctuating slightly, same logo but different designs for different applications should be completed to get a general feel of how it would look). This is the general process it would go through in a design house to get the best outcome, would be awesome to see it happen here
