Seem's as though my Torque split guage is not working. I have not seen the needle move at all.
All the other guages in the centre console are working, i.e. oil temp and boost.
Any thoughts on cause or repair?
Thanks.
Thanks all.
Really love this car now....I'm hooked! Hahaha.
motor is making a slight tapping noise, but from what I read on these forums the RB26DETT has a slight tapping noise. Freaked me out at first, then read the info on here and it calmed me down.
Sure is...Saw a mini van tflipped over coming into a round-about in Wangara this afternoon.
Also got a bit side ways in a round-about myself coming into Hillary's, which surprised me in the GT-R as I was in second and doing about 10Km's!!
Does anyone have a diagram of what things are in terms of oils etc. in the engine bay? The manual that came with my car doesn't really show everything.
In particular there is a small resevior located on the firewall of the drivers side, what is this? Is it the clutch fluid?
Also just found the A-LSD resevior in the boot hidden away.
Well couldn't find it anywhere.
However the alrm manual in the car has it listed as one of the options. So I am assuming that the alarm system is the turbo timer.
Thanks for the heads up on this guys.
The car has had its 100,000km service, timing belt etc.
The stock airbox has been removed (prior to me buying) and replaced with pod filters. I am getting the stock airbox off the seller though.
Thanks everyone for the info, much appreciated.
It seems when I am reffering to the boost restrictor others are talking about something to do with the airbox etc.
I am talking about the boost restrictor that is in one of the vaccuum hoses and is marked by the yellow line. It restricts boost to 9psi from the factory and when removed raises the boost to 14psi.
Where is the HICAS fluid located? The manual that came with the car is pretty crap, looks like omething that did not come from the factory.
My R33 GT-R has a turbo timer, only problem is I can't seem to find it.
The owner I bought it from thought it was under the steering wheel, but it's not. Had a good look under both sides under the dash etc. and not there.
Could it be in the back where the battery and stereo amp is? I had a look there but couldn't see one.
I did find a fire extinguisher mount under the dash on the passenger side. So even though I bought it stock may have been modified back in Japan.
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Some of those will have to wait until the bank account recovers from buying the car! LOL
Just curious, will I notice much of a difference if I remove the boost restrictor now?
Also how safe is this given the ceramic stock turbo wheels? And do I need a boost gauge (other than the stock one) and a manual boost controller?
Hi all,
Just wondering what everyone thinks the best first performance mod is for a R33 GT-R?
I know with my XT Forester the single best mod performance wise was swapping the stock exhaust system for a 3" TBE.
Would you say the same for the R33 GT-R?
Cheers.
Can anyone reccommend shops around Perth that have a decent selection of wheels on site?
I know plenty around Sydney but am lost here in Perth.
Cheers.
Hi all,
Just thought I would introduce myself to the fellow WA members.
I have been on the forums (mostly watching) since 09 and finally bought a 1995 R33 GT-R on Monday. So new to GT-R's.
Any fellow members around the Joondalup area? I see a puple R33 GT-R getting around, normally in the mornings going down Joondalup Drive.
Hope to get along to some cruises and meet some of you in the future.
Cheers.
Eric
Thanks Nathan.
Yeah, I have only had it for a couple of days and love it already. Already took it on a decent run, feels very different through the corners, smooth. My Foz isn't too bad at cornering either!
