  1. Just curious as to what sort of fuel economy people are getting out of their GTRs..... I know this is pretty obvious but think the most accurate way to test is - *Fill your car and reset the trip meter... *Drive xxx kms.... *Fill up again noting how many litres it took *Divide kms travelled by litres taken to fill this time around. I did this with mine tonight, I travelled 351kms this week and it took 47.5 litres of fuel...giving roughly 7.4kms per litre...thats mostly commuting to and fro work in traffic with the occassional squirt...not as bad as I thought it was going to be considering mods. I read a review once of a stock 33 GTR V-Spec which was regularly returning 10kms per litre!

  3. For some reason they are known to engage on initial start up for a brief amount of time, they should then disengage until like you say the temp gets up, the thermal strip then expands and engages the clutch... I can confirm 100% mine is still engaged at 4500ish rpm...
  4. Yeah, thats right mate, most will engage briefly but then should disengage until temp gets right up. I know mine is locked on permanently, no doubt, sounds terrible....been trying to drive it around everywhere around 1500rpm...lol. Anyway....my new fan arrived today, $157 through Repco (not sure if thats trade as my mechanic ordered it), going to fit it tonight and report back.
  5. Well, when you first start it up cold with the bonnet open, technically, you should be able to stop the fan with an object of some sort other than your hand as the clutch should not be engaged when the motor is cold....
  6. Yes it is Metallic and I still dont understand what your point is....even after wet sanding and compounding and swirl removal, there are still SOME marks that can be improved upon with a product that has some ability to fill.
  7. No there is not usually a vac line running to the ECU, could be a Microtech, they have built in MAP sensor....I find it amusing you bought this car without knowing such basic things about it like the ECU its running...
  8. Is the AFM in the cooler piping somewhere else, or is it another ECU like a PFC D-Jetro hidden inside the factory ECU case.......
  9. You can get your stock GTR wheel redone in leather for around $160 with whatever colour stitching you choose, guy works out at Welland, just off Port Rd.   10. How did you get EL thermos to fit a 32 GTR??? The viscous should not be noisy if its working properly!!! They should really only be engaged at low engine speed, low air flow scenarios like when stuck in traffic...at road speeds or over around 2500rpm they should not be engaged at all and therefore not making any noise... Sounds like yours was stuck too.
  11. Currently runs 0.9-1.0 bar and makes 360hp at the wheels. With same turbos on old motor made 400hp at the wheels on 1.2 bar. Nice long smooth power band, very drivable off boost. Cheers.

  13. Will add- Car recently had a brand new radiator fitted. Also has an Immobiliser installed. Splitfire coilpacks (blue). Will be fitting freshly painted N1 front bar vents this week. Brand new clutch fan coming Wednesday. C's Short Shifter on its way too. Have also bought some 260/260 Tomei cams, may or may not get around to fitting these but will negotiate with potential buyer if theyre in the car by the time I get some interest. Not sure what happened to the original pics so heres one I posted earlier!

Any of the other RB family fan assemblies sit further back than the 26...I fitted an RB30 unit to mine but it sat back too far and the fan blades fouled on the top radiator hose (hence why its kinked like it is from factory).... Im going through the same thing with my 32GTR at the moment, I ordered a 16" Electric fan last week but have today discovered Repco can supply a brand new Tru-Flo hub assembly for just under $200...going to see if my mate can get it a bit cheaper trade price.

  16. Eh? What do you mean? The paint still requires cutting after wet sanding, which creates swirls...which require removal.......

  22. Considering selling my 32 GTR....belonged to another forum user a while back and most of the work was carried out while he owned it. Car has the following mods and most receipts are available- Engine/Driveline/Electrics Rebuilt RB26 by John French motors in QLD All seals, gaskets, pulleys replaced. R33 Block R33 Crank Forged CP Pistons and rings Prepped standard rods with ARP rod bolts Main and Head Stud Kit N1 Oil and Water pumps Mild Head Porting with Competition Valve Seats Tomei full Metal gasket kit R34 N1 BB Steel Wheeled turbos Tomei Adjustable cam gears Full 3" exhaust including Ceramic coated (inside and out) dump pipes. Apexi PFC with Boost Control option SX Fuel Pressure Regulator Tomei Fuel Pump H/D Clutch kit with Billet Flywheel Car is only running 1 bar at the moment as stock injectors are hitting their limit, I have a set of Siemens 750cc here that buyer is welcome to purchase. Probably more to list but that gives an idea for now... Exterior Resprayed in factory Charcoal Grey, bonnet was only panel not painted as car had Carbon bonnet on it previously but is still in good condition...car is very, very straight. Carbon Fibre N1 rear lip from Just Jap Satin black front lower lip Brand new Genuine NISSAN and GTR badges on Boot lid LED Tail ights, not really my cup of tea but theyre there Interior Very good condition, no bubbling of dash or cracks, seats are clean Brand new centre vent just fitted I purchased a stock 32 GTR wheel from Import Monster but wasnt happy with the condition of it so I had it professionally retrimmed in genuine leather with red stitching. All gauges working perfectly Nismo white gear knob Sony Xplod 52x4 MP3 head unit and speakers Suspension Front and Rear strut braces Whiteline H/D Springs front and rear, unsure of shocks but rides nice and firm, car feels very tight. *Also have a Whiteline Front Camber kit to go on the car and a Tomei Electric/Mechanical HICAS lock kit. Wheels Enkei 17x9 all round, wheels were restored and are in perfect nick. Falken rubber all round. Car is currently registered but will come with SA Rego, I am taking it for its ID check next week. $23k. Car hasnt had front lip painted Satin black in these pics nor or the pics altered in any way, it is glossy, I just spent last few wkends sweatin my ass off buffing/polishing it -
  23. Trust me mate, its not right, mine didnt get hot when I drove it with no fan, was only a 20 minute drive...got up to 84 degrees by the time I got home. Do some reading, yours sounds identical to mine and it will be robbing HP and killing Fuel Consumption...its locked on, so its like driving with the air con all the time but worse. Ordered a 16" electric fan for mine, 3000cfm, going to incorporate it into the factory shroud, seal it off around the edges...see how it goes....
